Haven't felt this proud or entertained for a long while.

Every Rover should hold his head up high tonight.

That was a spectacular performance from the players and the manager. The media will be too preoccupied with Liverpool's failings to afford us the credit we deserve, but every fan who watched the game will know just how well we played. This Liverpool side may be a pale shadow of its former self, but it's still vastly outprices a Rovers side which had been hit by a crippling injury list. With a blend of attacking prowess, composure and a dogged spirit, we put them well and truly to the sword.

Fans have been saying forever that Olsson & Hoilett should be starters on the wing and tonight they proved why. Not only did they have the pace and verve but they also had the quality to be a constant threat to the Liverpool defence. Special mention must also go to Benjani. The figure of much derision on these forums (from myself, included), tonight he was different class. His first goal was a cracking finish and did well to tuck home after Hoilett's determined run.

Can barely believe what I just witnessed.

8 first teamers out, and we beat Liverpool 3-1. Yeah, Liverpool are in a bad way at the moment but they've got some great players in that squad and we picked them apart during periods of this match.

As much as it pains me to say it, Samba was immense and I hate the thought of losing him.

Olsson and Junior's pace was a breath of fresh air. MB Diouf tireless. Benjani showing why he was once valued at 8M.

And let's face it, it wouldn't be Rovers without the nail-biting finish would it?

Amazing victory... couldn't be happier.

If we can sign a couple of central midfielders (one defensive and one offensive) and a striker we should be ok. With Olsson and Hoilett on the wings and some quality in the central midfield a top half finish should be attainable.

Not to take anything away from us because we were brilliant, first to everything, but that is a really awful Liverpool team.

Olsson, Benjani and Junior were all to draw. Samba played well, just annoyed about his lack of offside playing throughout the game.

Massive win, simply massive! This is the way we need to play. I can't believe we lost 7-1 to United and then play like this! We play in a different way at the moment! I think everyone was great, Pedersens runs was energic and Hoilett and Olsson on the wings were deadly and then Benjani scores to wonderful goals! And then the backline.....everyone did great, Bunn was steady and looks a premier league keeper!

I was only disappointed with E H Diouf introduction, he almost gave Liverpool a point, nice assist to Gerrard when he was on his way through for penalty....but

We can now see that we have some VERY good young players and now we will have some players back for the next prem game, (Kalinic, Roberts, Nzonzi), it looks good.

After all the buzz and excitment surrounding the transrer window, We'll be brought back down to earth tonight with another dismal performence.

Rovers 0 - 4 Liverpool.

Vibes from Liverpool are that they are chomping at the bit for this one. Woy Boy sees it as an excellent opportunity to record a very, very convincing win and to influence some of his knockers. This only confirms my worst fears that we are in for a drubbing.

I also have bad feelings about this game.

But one chant that should be done tonight is, "There's only one John Williams" or even "we want a manager". I do not think Rovers will be able to sign decent players with Kean in charge - hope to be wrong. But when playing teams like liverpool you need good players. Yet at the moment until we change the manager we will dread games like this tonight. I was all for giving him a chance - but who will sign for steve kean.

£10 @ 5-1 Torres to score more than 1. Absolute banker if we try expansive football with our players.

We need to mark gerrard and torres out the game to stand a chance just don't see any players in our ranks with the ability to do it though without jones and a decent defensive midfieler i can see them running rings around us.

Fantastic win! Couldn't be happier right now! Lets hope this acts as a morale/confidence booster to the whole club and lets carry this form forward starting with QPR at the weekend. We don't want a great win overshadowed with an early exit from the FA cup. Also, after tonights results, Chelsea are there for the taking in our next league game. Get a couple of quality players in then it can only be onwards and upwards for the mighty Rovers!!

I hate it when people talk about teams lacking "passion" and "desire" generally when they're just playing badly, it's usually the kind of guff that people say on talksport.

But today those words definitely applied. Both teams have had torrid times lately, but one side had them in abundance and one side were severely lacking.
