beerwins Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Just heard Steve Keane on Talksport, this guy is really good with the media and after that performance he is not too shabby with the players or tactics either. Really warming to this guy, at first I was horrified to find he was gaining control of Rovers but after watching us start to play some football and get some results I can see where the positive comments about him come from. Anyone who can get the team focused and winning matches after going through what we have been through deserves massive credit for what he has done. WELL DONE STEVE AND WELL DONE ROVERS!!
youaremyturkíshdelight Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 what did Kean say? gave his thoughts on game and indications on how we won, seems to like giving a couple of his tactical tips on how game was won..- was asked about his portugese and whether ronnie coming - didnt rise to it but stated we had to concentrate on the current group of players for tonight (singled out Martin and Junior) and that there will be players coming in. Stated exciting times for Rovers - sounded confident, elated even, dont blame him.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Blackburn End in 'finds its Roar again' shocker!
Darwen Rover Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 For me it was simple.. We pressed like men possessed when they had the ball then looked to play to our wings at every opportunity which we've not done for a while! Stunning performance lads oh and the boss!
booth Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 After all the turmoil, after all the criticism and after all the media laughing at us...Have some of that! Spuds got beat too, knocking the smile off Harry "we can challenge for the title" Redknapps face, bonus
Exiled in Toronto Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Well we certainly learned a lot tonight: 1) You can't play 2 up front anymore 2) This group of players are incapable of playing a passing game 3) Dunny is finished 4) The players won't play for Kean... 5) ...because he is a tactically clueless yes man 6) Kentaro something or other Seriously though, this was the best Ewood game since Burnley, better in fact because we didn't drop back 40 yards in the 2nd half. Biggest surpise for me was how much fitter and livelier we looked - chased and harried them all night.
Balwer Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 let's not forget we won this game without Robbo and Jones who are sure thing first teamers, not to mention Kalinic/Roberts and Emerton who would definitely have all been on the bench at least, plus the rest of the injuries. Not like a full strength Rovers beat up on a weakened Liverpool, their three guns were all there, plus Cole. Now, can we just back this result up please and go on a bit of a run? Or is that too sour a comment to make so soon after a great victory? Oh and plenty of people have written Dunny off as finished too, from all parts of the Sam/Kean/Venkys divide. Hope those people give credit where it's due. When he's on he's still got it.
Stuart Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Elvis Costello, Craig Charles, Les Dennis, Jimmy Tarbuck, Ricky Tomlinson, Sue Johnson, Stan Boardman, Ian Broudie, Cheri Blair, Alan Hanson, The Preston Hairdresser, Bob Paisley, Bill Shankly, King Kenny, Stevie G, Woy Hodgson Your boys took one hell of a beating.
JAL Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 What was those substitutions about as they nearly cost us ?
John Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Great result and hopefully we can get some consistency going (after Chelsea away that is).
Stuart Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Dunnaldinho was playing on adrenalin fumes. And how. Best Rovers performance of the last two years. Can't stop smiling. Proud. To be. A Rover.

Stated exciting times for Rovers - sounded confident, elated even, dont blame him. Thats the only thing he should stop, dont let your tactics slip at any cost, he got the forwards to close down and stay tight on the back four to stop Reina playing the ball short so they struggle to control the game from the back. Was perfect and worked wonders but dont tell every bugger

ben_the_beast Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Absolutely splendid! I am watching match of the day with a glass of red tonight.
Steve Moss Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 To me, Olsen and Hoillett were the stars of the day. They cut Liverpool to pieces. All credit to Kean. If he can keep up these fighting displays, win or lose, then he'll bring me around.
Baz Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Was worried about tonights game as we normally dont play well against teams at the bottom of the league. Outstanding performance by our boys, the two wingers played brilliantly.
G Somerset Rover Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 What was those substitutions about as they nearly cost us ? Just enjoy the result and stop moaning!
Roost Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I feel ten foot tall tonight. What a way to answer the pisstakers. Proud to be a Rover Tonight was like the good old days. At one time our fans were takin the ###### outta the Liverpool fans who then started singing then we sang then they did. I got Goose bumps. Loved it. As for the performance. Brilliant. All the bad press we av had over the past few weeks we rammed it right down there throats. Now Kean has been at the helm a few weeks and his tactics are being implemented and we all could see that tonight fair play to mrs venky for employing him. She/they might be bad at communicating with the media bit they might have just unearthed a gem right under our noses. Roll on sat!! Nice cup run will do nicely Well said Lee.
BuckyRover Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Roll up...roll up,get your humble pies here 10 for a pound! Maybe next time you won't throw in the towel before the bloody game has even started eh?? Just been to the shop and bought a bottle of Hobgoblin to saviour this moment. First the Ashes and now this. Awesome
slough_rover Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 We're second on MOTD! Nearly had a heart attack when I saw that we would be coming up next!
Dufflite Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 were we 1st up on match of the day? what do you think...

greco82 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 What odds on lawro, etc's comment being about how awful Liverpool were and no credit being given to the mighty rovers!
