Ferguson most likely couldn't give a stuff about Allardyce anymore. That unhealthy infatuation was only ever one way

You must be joking!

They are real buddies who socialise together including wives!!!

Will they be given the title at Ewood if they win? I'm presuming the presentation will be made at OT on the final day of the season?

I can't find the link now but I looked it up a few weeks ago (had a horrible premonition this may happen). It said that the trophy will be presented at the next home game following the win, if there is one. So if they win it on Saturday, it will be presented at OT against Blackpool.

Obviously in our case it was presented at Anfield because it was the last day.

Fergie was interviewed and he said a point would do it, and that he doesn't want us or Blackpool to go down. Nearly fell off my chair!

This is all about winning the title. The secondary concern might be finally knocking Livepool of "their f***ing perch" as he once so eloquently put it.

1995 or Sam does not even enter the equation.

Not forgetting that United have the small matter of a European final coming up. Not sure Fergie will be winding his players up to bust a gut more than usual if there is even a 1% chance of increasing the chances of a Rooney getting injured doing so.

And you believe him?...the man who said he didn't know Rovers were relegated after their '99 win at Ewood.

Ferguson is as crafty as they come, great manager but crafty.

Do you honestly believe a word he says ?

Mixed results today, didn't necessarily expect Wolves to beat the Baggies but as much as I wanted Chelsea to beat United today that would have been a disaster for us in the terms of the last two games.

No-one should expect Fergie or his team to take it in any way easy next week but the bottom line is that if the score does happen to be level with five or ten minutes to go, both sides can put their foot on the ball without having to go hell for leather for the win.

Rovers are in form as they have taken 4 points from 6.

If Man Utd win today there is not a chance that they will play with the same level of intensity, regardless of what Fergie thinks, our home record is good and we with a packed Ewood we can beat anyone(ok maybe not Barca, trying to be less optimistic :)

Since Kean took over we have shown we can beat anyone at Ewood Park unless they are West Ham United, Stoke City, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Blackpool, Birmingham City or Manchester City. Fortress Ewood?

The flip side of that is that we haven't taken a hammering off anyone under Kean at Ewood and of the three games listed above we lost, we were very unlucky to lose both the Spurs and Citeh games imo

I don't think we need to beat Utd, just avoid defeat and we should be safe

The only way we can get a point, or indeed a win, against top 4 teams, is if they don't take their chances.

I don't think this is true. I think we can beat anyone at Ewood. The only question is wether we play brave and win or play scared and lose.

Like Keans coaching badges, show me the proof

Well Obama did have to post his birth certificate on the Internet, it's only fair Steve...

Actually, scratch that...

The fact he's in a PL job without dispensation?

Of course, you could call the FA yourself and expose him. ;)

It wouldn't have really mattered if Barrack wasn't born in America, anyway. :P

Yes we can beat anyone at Ewood.

But to defeat a top 4 team they have to underperform and we have to overperform.

If they perform to their best, we will never beat them.

The football authorities are far from infallible which has been demonstrated time and time again.

Though we are in the box seat - two games ago, if you had said beat Bolton and draw with West Ham - I would have thought us safe.

Didn't expect Wolves to beat WBA - Blackpool a point at Spuds - never.

Looks like this will go to the last match of the season - unless we pull of an unlikely draw or victory against United. We need o ensure we keep the goal difference healthy - a large defeat to United would be very damaging.

It really is important. I think we can afford to lose both games by the odd goal and still stay up. Any more than that and we might be in trouble.

I think I'll go into hibernation if we are going to lose the last two games and hope for the best. Can you imagine the tension on the last day if we have lost to United and are losing at Wolves?

I cannot for the life of me stop fretting over the last 2 fixture lists. To think we were 12 minutes or so from safety! :(

As I see it:

Wigan----playing some good stuff now---West Ham (h)---Wigan will surely win this.

Stoke( a)------should lose this but Stoke have nothing to play for.

Blackpool----------Bolton(h)-------Bolton's season is drifting away, Tangerines will surely win this one.

Manure(a)-------you wouldn't normally even debate his one but ,last game of the season, Premiership will be settled, nothing to play for, throw in the young lads as Fergy usually does in this circumstance. Result-could be anything but I certainly didn't expect them to get a point at Spurs let alone come within a couple of minutes of all three. Played some nice football too.

Wolves-----Sunderland(a)---Sunderland have been crap for months and have nothing to play for. Good chance of a Wolves victory here as they will want it more.

As we all know!-------Rovers(H). We can only pray they lose at Stadium of Light because if not I can't see us going into that cauldron and winning if it matters to them.

West Ham------can't catch us--will go down.

Birmingham----------in deep trouble. Out of it if they beat Fulham(h) but that's a tricky fixture.

Spurs(a)-----once looked a daunting fixture but Spurs have collapsed. Depends on which Spurs turns up.

Rovers----Manu needing a point to win the Premiership. I'd be ecstatic if they got that one! We do look destined to meet their strongest side going all out though, unlike Blackpool.

Wolves (a)------a shocker.

So, although we all thought a point at West Ham would make us pretty much safe, other results meant it didn't and there is enough material above to frighten the life out of me.

But on the other hand Rev - we still lost those games - lost being the operative word - nil, zero, diddly squat - forget the unlucky - you have to take the opportunities when they come along - something I think we missed on Saturday, although the point was welcomed given our history there and will probably be the crucial matter come the end of the last game.

As I said before the past month of matches started - we do not want to be going to Wolves having to get something.

However, wham have a good record at Wigan and I think we may survive.... just, on goal difference given the point on Saturday.

What's that got to do with Steve Kean's coaching qualifications?
