Do we want Duff if it will limit Olsson playing. We need to have Hoillet and Olsson playing more not less. If Duff comes he has to settle for back up because if they play well we can do what we did last night.

A forward , 2 centre mids should be the main aim. Dont Mind Roque if it is only a loan as at least we have cover for the forwards. Kalinic and Diouf should be the main two from now on. Benjani is a good back up.

just an idea I have thought of, why do we not reward MB Diouf by trying to buy him now then that will open up another loan slot for us so as well as RSC which is looking likely we could get his pal adebeyour or somebody else that people have mentioned. Just a thought mind!!

lol 'reward mb diouf'....he doesn't play for Scunthorpe he plays for one of if not the biggest and best football club in the world! A reward for his performances would probably be getting a crack at playing for United

Around £8 million, wages on the expensive side. But you were after Ronnie,so what the hell.Mutu & Toni better bets surely.

Fabiano is the kind of player Tottenham would sign.

Is he not known for being a bit of a hot head and also somewhat up himself? I remember seeing a Skysports news story a year or two ago where him and an opposition player got into a bit of a "scuffle" - I say scuffle it was more handbags at ten paces if anything.

Keep our powder dry?

Haven't we done that for three years? We need investment. Obviously I don't want to be ripped off but we shouldn't be afraid to pay a small premium if it strengthens our team now. A few more injuries and we would be screwed

But Utd have Rooney, Berbatov, Hernandez, Macheda, Wellbeck so do you not think they would consider selling him to us?

I just fear that Fergie will refuse to sell him to us in spite for us sacking his mate. Stranger things have happened - he is like that.

RSC and the Barca kid on loan? Not sure we're allowed a foreign loan though. Definitely RSC though...

There's no limit on foreign loans.

RSC seems inevitable, but perhaps the Norwich lad is the other one.. if nicko is to be trusted none of the transfers he's been on about seem that close.

what would Fredi Kanoute cost as well as my favourite behind Luca Toni :P , Fernando Llorente? Would those 2 be considered a marquee signing? Sydney Govou anybody, or has he signed for another club... I have lost track of where he is at

Duff has been playing really well recently and even as a left back, in tandem with Olsson it could be a very good left hand side, even in his previous time at Rovers, knackered as he looked, he always tracked back very well!! Despite our decent defence, we do lack pace at the back!

Grabi?

Blake?

Davies?

Out of who is remotely feasible this window, yes! Clearly there are worse ones historically. I'd rather have the 2010 Davies.

My dislike of him is perhaps a bit more irrational as it's clear he's not useless but he's a player I'd see getting the fans backs up very quickly. He was woeful in his last season at Arsenal and has hardly put his back out up at Citeh this year either.

Can anyone confirm if the Duffster was indeed in the directors box last night ? tell tale sign if he was..................

Not that i know of.He was going to join Milan 2 seasons ago but they couldn't agree on a fee.

If you are after 1 big name signing & willing to pay a decent wage Fabiano would be a decent choice.

You would have a better chance of signing him or a Mutu than a Ronnie or Beckham definitely.

If you offered Mutu £60,000 - £70,000 a week and an 18 month deal he would probably join you.

We definitely need to invest if we can, and it certainly looks like we can. The owners are targeting a top 10 finish, remember. We must give Kean the chance to have a realistic opportunity of achieving this.

I'm not a fan of this 'we will judge on Feb 1st'. Lets see how any incoming players perform after a few months before basing judgements purely on name and price. I know that they may want a marquee signing but let's not become those fans who start to think because their club has money it entitles them to a high league position and big name signings and instead wait for this long term project to take off before becoming so demanding. The next transfer window could me more telling.

Nicko may know this, but have we actually put bids in for Adam or Duff?

As much as I'd like to have Duff back in a Rovers shirt we don't need a left winger now Olsson has finally been put back where all his best performances have come.

We desperately need a central player, but what type is the real question. Last night we could really have done with someone who could have held his position in front of the back 4 as at time both Dunn & Ped's were as deep as the CB's. I am hopeful that N'zonzi can find his feet again as we need a sitter. But in the same vein we need someone who can put his foot on the ball and help us keep it when we are under pressure, dilemmia's, dilemmia's.

I wonder if we could get both.

Would he even take a sniff at us? Doubt he is the type of big name Venkys want.

Hey guys - interesting quotes from Kean in relation to tomorrow`s press conference that someone mentioned quite a few pages back.

Hoping to unveil a few faces at the conference - interesting times................

Nothing really new here, LT just providing same names that have already been mentioned.

No mention of players going out...

Rovers have moved to bring Roque Santa Cruz back to Ewood Park on a loan deal and, despite Lazio and Aston Villa showing interest, are hopeful of wining the battle for his temporary signature.

Manchester City and Santa Cruz would prefer to secure his permanent switch but a lack of suitors could see him back at Rovers. Another former Ewood favourite Damien Duff is also believed to keen on a return, with Rovers interested, while Blackpool’s Charlie Adam and Spaniard Ruben Rochina are also on Kean’s wish list.

Kean said: “Things are happening behind the scenes and hopefully we can add one or two to strengthen the squad. “I would like to talk about the lads now and hopefully we can have a press conference before the QPR game with one or two new faces.
