Didn't liverpool go and spend about £5m on the Brazil under 21 captain and star player.... step forward Lucas!!

Possibly the worst brazilian seen since Britney Spears stumbled out of that car!!

That's Benitez for you turned a great young attacking midfielder into a very average Def. Midfielder.

Brazilians rarely work out in this league to much hard work turning up for training everyday and doing what your told.

Can't see how Duffer would fit in but if the boss wants him then fair enough. One signing I would like to see if the permanent one of Diouf II, he's really starting to look a class act.

Thinking about it, I wouldn't be surprised if that is one of the "signings" we hope to announce...

But regarding Duff, he can fit in various positions, he isn't just a left winger.

As much as I'd like to have Duff back in a Rovers shirt we don't need a left winger now Olsson has finally been put back where all his best performances have come.

I don't think Olssons chances will get hampered by Duff returning. I actually think it will do both Olsson and the team a world of good. Competition is always good, they could both be played at the same time, we would not be severly lacking if hit by suspension or injuries (for left side of the field at least) and would give the manager options on severeal other positions (again considering suspension/inujuries). I would love to see Duff back at Rovers! The thought of him an Olsson switching it up down our left side is a mouthwatering prospect if you ask me, seeing as they both are able fullbacks. Would provide plenty of balls for the forwards (Roque?!) to work with and hopefully make us less vulnerable when hit on the break. I also still think of Duff as a true Rover despite him kissing the Chelsea-badge all those years ago. Could prove a great influence in the dressing room as well, but what do I know...

P.s.: sorry for bad spelling or grammar...still hung over and sorta high from last nights win! :rover:

Fergie's doing a good job with his young ones, Alex at Chelsea, Denilson, silva before him, all seem to put in the effort and doing alright.

Venky's want to break into the south american market by all acounts, brazil seems to be their main country as well as argentina.

There's plenty of good young talent in those areas at present.

I don't know why but I get the impression that his nationality makes a difference. If Brazil is their target market why not go and spend the 20million on 3 of their best U21's?

Or we could get the new 'ronaldo' Neymar.

Poultry is big business in Brazil - most of the chicken sold in fried chicken outlets comes from there originally (via Holland, dried and salted due to an EU loophole which means less import restrictions on dried meat - it then gets rehydrated over here, a quite disgusting process from start to finish!), I makes sense that Venky's would have interests there - probably a hatchery to supply the farms.

It may well be that the intention of signing Ronaldinho was as much targeted at raising their brazilian profile as anything else.

It wouldn't surprise me if they did go after a couple of up and coming Brazilians, so long as it gave them sufficient media coverage in Brazil.

Who knows what will happen with Olsson, but tail end of last year he was on fire playing there and as soon as the season started we never saw him or he was at laft back. Duff will be first choice if he comes and he won't play at left back as he's too lightweight and I can't believe he's much cope their constantly. IMO if we had the 2 as our left flank I think we'd get raped down that side and teams would target it and expose it easily. With the ball your right it would be great but they'll both spend more time without it and that's were they will fall down.

If we are looking for a left back we need a real one not another who can play there.

Olsson needs games, so does Hoillet etc and if anything for me Olsson especially has earnt his starting berth on the left flank and signing someone to play there or who can play there, just says I don't think your good enough to me.

Before we start spending money we don't need or making signings to appease the fans we must MUST deal with the gaping hole we have in the middle of the park as god knows how we have gotten away with it for so long. But guaranteed if we are to play a more expansive game we must get someone in there who can truly play football.

Says he got injured for six months in August.

Doesnt matter...future world star

Milan's number 1 target for the Summer.

Not suprised one bit.

I know they have some sort of factory there and get loads of grain from Argentina and have been talking about expansion in those area's.

I'd be all for us signing a couple of up N comings from there.

We can have that speedy kid from Lanus, Blanco. I wouldn't say no to Daniel Villalva either. The brazilian playmaker Hughesy mentioned would be alright as well. I think people get to hung up on the examples of 1 or 2 IE robinho as plenty of SA players have come here and done well.

I'd be over the moon to see us sign 2-3 players of the Adam ilk and then add in a couple of those types who perhaps in the future we can sell on for some serious cash.

Ganso and Neymar (both Santos I think) are both the future of Brazilian football. Neymar has been involved in some controversy already, while Ganso is probably a bit more level-headed. Would be HUGE to get one of them.

I'd like us to sign Ever Banega and Alexis Sanchez - stars of the 2007 U20 World Cup. Obtainable under Venky's? Why not? :)

Trouble is the pair would cost us about the same price as Venky's paid for the club.

If Samba wants to go then he wants to go. I would much rather he stayed but if we are bringing in new faces then it's going to be very important to keep the dressing room free of negative influences. In the meantime I hope he works hard to attract a transfer, or indeed genuinely changes his mind (for good this time).

Someone sit Samba down and remind him that he owes this club everything.

Prior to Rovers he was a no-body languishing in the reserves at Hertha. Hughes signed him not Sam and the club has always looked after him and the fans love him. Samba needs reminding that at a time when his career was going nowhere we showed faith in him when no-one else was willing.

Its time for Samba to repay that faith, we need him at present. If he wants to leave fine, but he can wait till the end of the season.

He'll most likely have more offers then and we get sometime to get our plans in place.

Loyalty works both ways though. Look how quickly the fans turned on Pedersen when he went through a rough patch.

That happens with every player its part of the parcel.

The fans have always shown Samba loyalty regardless of what mistakes he has made on the pitch.

IMO Samba owes us, not just the fans but the club and I don't think him putting his aspirations to one side for 5 months to help us out and through this tricky time is too big an ask given all that the club has done for Samba.

Well he's now played under four managers, so he's stuck with us through plenty. Whilst I question his intelligence in wanting to leave, for me he has given a great deal. Offer him the chance to stay, but if he wants to go get rid.

It probably doesn't help that we still sing the 'black man' song. After my friend spoke to him it became clear he is not a fan of that song at all.
