Even if Everton are interested surely we're still in pole position. I can see why the player may possibly choose Everton over us, but isn't their budget the same as ours in the summer? I can't see too many of Everton's first teamers fitting into Blackpool's wage structure either.

Everton budget in the summer was 2 million pounds and with that they signed 4 players. Moyes said this week that he got no money to spend and will be looking a loan signing.

Ganso and Neymar (both Santos I think) are both the future of Brazilian football. Neymar has been involved in some controversy already, while Ganso is probably a bit more level-headed. Would be HUGE to get one of them.

I'd like us to sign Ever Banega and Alexis Sanchez - stars of the 2007 U20 World Cup. Obtainable under Venky's?

Why not? :)

Sanchez was brilliant. Great shout.

Pretty sure I mentioned that about 1 page ago.

How about taking another look at Anthony Annan? He caught the eye of many at the WC with his tenacious play.

I agree we need a destroyer but I'm desperate for us to sign Adam.

I've seen him a lot, believe me, this guy is head and shoulders above what we have.

One of my mates is a Blackpool fan, so I take a reasonable amount of notice of Blackpool. I watched him in the play offs and I watched him against Rovers at Bloomfield Road earlier this season - and I was quite disappointed Shiltts. Against Rovers I thought we dominated Blackpool and Adams. He doesn't look like he gets around the pitch too well? Still, if we do sign him, we'll find out for sure what he's got.

yes. Levski is my 2nd club.

Ok, just wondering :)

Excellent at protecting the back four and keeping it simple, pretty sure he has what it takes. Need creative players playing alongside him in midfield, but would probably be a good pairing with Charlie Adam.

Been there and done it, and certainly not the answer to our problems. Average player to say the least. Seem to remember him biting someone in a match last season.

Nuttier than Ireland apparently.

No way. Annan is involved in a lot of challenges during a game and sometimes loses his cool, and has a bit of a dirty label. But he is quality nonetheless.

Luckily he was disappointing against us. The one thing I have said is like Tugay, he's not the most mobile.

He would need protecting and could do with somebody to do the running for him. In my opinion his talent warrants that sacrifice though, and I really do feel he's the closest to a Tugay we're realistically going to get.

I thought he was surprisingly mobile last night, he kept running at Birmingham's defense all night long. I'll agree that he's not the quickest, nor does he strike me as the fittest man on the planet either. And he would most certainly need some protecting.

only problem with signing the pair of them & playing them together would be the lack of physical presence in midfield. They are both about 5'7" & not very pacey, against the more physical teams we'd get dominated in the middle. We need a young Patrick Viera... Mammadou Diarra would be my shout!!!

A bit of Annan.

<--- after 58 secs, yes that's ex Blackburn player Martin Andresen

<--- he's shirt was in my mouth but I didn't bite :D

Think there is more than enough evidence there to show stay away, loose cannon to say the least, we'd be better off with no defensive midfielder than him in there.

Wasnt Nzonzi labled the next Viera last season. Ok had an average start this year, and has been injurd, but is due back soon. Wenger was linked with signing him in the summer, and really rates him, and was player of the year last season. Pretty sure he can do a better job than anyone we can sign in January, plus Grella will be back, and Andrews. Ok the latter 2 not that great but ok for now until the summer. But I really think Nzonzi will come good again, and will only get better once he is fit.

I agree, seems to be a lot of Adam fanboys on here.. I beleive we could do much better..

To say Anthony Annan is average, is like saying "Daddy only hits me when he drinks".

He's been tremendous for Rosenborg and Stabæk ever since he joined.

Reminded me of this...

"he a biter!" (5min 49)

Annans ball retention was the best of all players in the last World Cup bar none!!
