I for one, would be extremely happy if you could bring in Anthony Annan. I've seen him in between 50-100 matches and i have not yet seen him play a poor match. He has been tremendous for the last two years including the world cup. i'm actually really suprised nobody has ever bought im. was voted player of the year in norway this year, and he probably one of the best defensive midfielders in the world. think we could get him for 3-4mill punds. He covers a lot of ground, good in the air, rarely miss a pass and is almost impossible to get around. with him in front of our back 4, we would be a better team. i would guess he would be one of our most important players, if not the best.

Wasnt Nzonzi labled the next Viera last season. Ok had an average start this year, and has been injurd, but is due back soon. Wenger was linked with signing him in the summer, and really rates him, and was player of the year last season. Pretty sure he can do a better job than anyone we can sign in January, plus Grella will be back, and Andrews. Ok the latter 2 not that great but ok for now until the summer. But I really think Nzonzi will come good again, and will only get better once he is fit.

Aaaahhhh yeah, N'Zonzi, the forgotten man... I think we need someone to bring him through. A more established player of that type who can pass the ball better.

Big Steve will be a top drawer player one day, with the right guidance and as long as we don't sell him.

Think there is more than enough evidence there to show stay away, loose cannon to say the least, we'd be better off with no defensive midfielder than him in there.

Andy Todd, Paul Dickov, Craig Bellamy, Robbie Savage, El-Hadji Diouf. All players known for being a law unto themselves and yet they've all been valuable players at the same time.

Right now we need someone with that bite in midfield (not literally, Tony!).

Doesn't sound too good from this;

The second bit is bad but to judge him on the first is very unfair, to be convicted of rape is one thing to be accused and releaed is a different thing altogether.

Would love Annan here as well.

Has this topic gone wonky because everyone is waiting for the 11 o'clocker?

I have seen hardly any new posts or topic views for over half an hour.... anyone else strugglin?

Something on talksport (yes, I know) earlier about Lassana Diarra (ex Pompey, Chelsea, Arsenal) wanting out at Real Madrid.

Guess he'd want champions league football, but I think he's exactly what we need in the middle.

Not judging him on either, but you're right the second part does make him look like a bit of an idiot.

CHARLIE ADAM...Birmingham City have come in...willing to buy...might not be a bad thing if a club has a go and establishes the fee or ground rules...can't go into too many details, but Rovers have a good chance with this one as long as the price is not higher than it should be.

On a side-note...Newcastle in for Seb Larsson at Birmingham...fee agreed...this may explain why Birmingham have money to spend.

ROQUE...Man City swamped with requests from clubs to take players on loan...this works against a quick Rovers deal because they do not want to do sponsored transfers that will mean everybody else wants sponsored transfers...still on the wish list...but may go on for a few weeks yet.

SAMBA...Houllier staying keeps that one alive...down to whether Villa - whoever takes the decisions there at the moment - want to trade Collins...and what the 'adjustment' is...swaps are never easy...but still very much on.

SIGNINGS...think the gaffer may have beem optimistic with his 'two deals' line...no doubt the smart-asses will jump on that...it was probably a bit optimistic...not a criminal offence.

Lots happenign all over. Very few deals being done THAT quickly.

So what happened to all these other players on the list? When are we going to show an interest in them? So far, after a week it seems we are only interested in a loan signing.

Nicko are we not in for Larssonb now then? Can you confirm that Villa still owe us 2 million from the Warnock deal? If it is, would that be factored in somewhere?

Any news on MB Diouf yet?

Not too worried.

I prefer we buy players with time and do not buy just because we are in a rush.

I'll save my judgements till the 1st February
