I would like to see us make a move for Adel Taarabt.

Seriously can't believe anyone would want him. He is a lazy so and so. He was at Spuds for 3 years and played a total of 9 games.

Cheers

BKR

PS Remember he is playing teams like the Clarets and weaker week in and week out. So not difficult to look good in that league.

CHARLIE ADAM...Birmingham City have come in...willing to buy...might not be a bad thing if a club has a go and establishes the fee or ground rules...can't go into too many details, but Rovers have a good chance with this one as long as the price is not higher than it should be.

On a side-note...Newcastle in for Seb Larsson at Birmingham...fee agreed...this may explain why Birmingham have money to spend.

ROQUE...Man City swamped with requests from clubs to take players on loan...this works against a quick Rovers deal because they do not want to do sponsored transfers that will mean everybody else wants sponsored transfers...still on the wish list...but may go on for a few weeks yet.

SAMBA...Houllier staying keeps that one alive...down to whether Villa - whoever takes the decisions there at the moment - want to trade Collins...and what the 'adjustment' is...swaps are never easy...but still very much on.

SIGNINGS...think the gaffer may have beem optimistic with his 'two deals' line...no doubt the smart-asses will jump on that...it was probably a bit optimistic...not a criminal offence.

Lots happenign all over. Very few deals being done THAT quickly.

I take it you didn't reply to my post yesterday because you had a story about Moreno in the Mirror? he looks a real talent anyway. If he carries on like that they'll be plenty of clubs after him.

Do you think United or Chelsea will be buying in this window?

Taarabt is a perfect example of a highlights player. Looks amazing every now and then but goes missing for huge chunks of games.

I stand to be corrected on this but I'm almost sure I heard a stat on Sky a week or so back that he hadn't completed 90 minutes all season!

BPF, the 10-1 odds weren't on us spending £5m this transfer window.

They were on us spending £5m on one individual player. Thats probably not unreasonable when you think of the number of undisclosed transfers we've had in the past.

I had a few quid on the 10-1, my main hopes for winning pennies were:

* Marquee-style signing for £6/7/8m+

* Somebody like Charlie Adam for slightly over £5m

* Sale of Samba for more than £5m, then Rovers using the proceeds to sign a replacement - again for over £5m :)

I can actually see us being surprised in the next week to 10 days, with at least one decent player coming in who nobody had any idea about...

ADAM...every player has his value...you don't over-spend or you never stop...lets see where Birmingham go with it...and Sunderland if they come in...quite relaxed about that one.

DUFF...Fulham don't want to sell...so you DON'T over-bid for a player of his age.

ROQUE...Man City had a deal with Lazio that meant they would get rid of him and get a small fee...so Rovers's loan attempt falls short of that dream world for them...again, patience needed...you know my views on that deal already.

SAMBA-COLLINS...down to valuations.

Not sure if two deals will be done today. But there is a fair amount going on behind the scenes here, there and everywhere. No point in going for the B list targets while the A list are still available.

There will be some players NOT playing for their clubs in the FA Cup to avoid being Cup-tied. That may be quite revealing.

With the silence yesterday, and no big news so far this morning, I have to admit I feel something is building up in the background. Something exciting that is! It is Jan 7, so we should start getting people in soon. Time is ticking.

The (small) budget was only finally approved by Venky's yesterday.

I hope to goodness there is a lot more than only the valuations blocking the Samba-Collins deal. That would be horrendous were it to happen.

You have also got to bear in mind the Sunday People need to get some stories kept back for them too....

There's more going on than I can post here yet.

Hello. 1st post - greetings from down south :tu:

They certainly said he was the most substituted player in the championship. I dont think they offered a reason as to whether he wasn't fit enough or possibly was seen as a luxury player towards the end of games.

I'd like us to sign Adam, hope we can pull that one off.

Do you know who is on that "B" list? (Obviously i wouldn't expect you to name them)

Micah Richards wants to leave Manchester City. And he claims Shaun Wright Philips wants to leave as well.

Worth a try?

I think he's probably on daft wages so probably a no-go.

Haven't said that, I would like to see him here as a long term replacement for Nelsen. A CB pairing of him and Jones would be great with athleticism, strength and reading of the game in abundance.

He is their third right back.

He complains that City has too many top players so a lot of them don't play as many games as they want too.

He is only 22 and an english international.

We only have Salgado for right back and he is 35. For the right money, I think it would be a good player for us.
