Not sure if two deals will be done today. But there is a fair amount going on behind the scenes here, there and everywhere. No point in going for the B list targets while the A list are still available.

I love this!! Last year it was Mr X and Mr Y. This year it's the A-Listers and B-Listers.

Just curious, if we're getting desperate near the end of Janurary, do we then start looking at the C-men?*

Sorry, couldn't resist!

(off topic)

why is the press conf. held at Brockhall, and not the beautiful press theatre at Ewood?? How is the press room at Brockhall? Is it nice?

I have the impression at most clubs the manager's weekly press conference takes place at the training ground as this is where they are likely to be working on a Friday morning. Club press theatres seem to be more use for official announcements, introducing players and post match stuff. Could be wrong but that's how I see it.

I don't think there is any desperation just yet.

Since the manager said he 'hoped' to have two in by today you have made calls/moves for six that I know of - probably a lot more that I don't - AND you have beaten Liverpool.

So maybe less need to go desperate and over-spend on somebody after that result.

Expect a few surprise younger faces in the QPR squad. But also expect quite a few of the younger ones to be moved out too...some for experience.

Nick Blackman is an interesting case. He is back, does not fancy a return to Scotland and is looking for quite heavy wages for someone of his lack of experience...Josh Morris could also be farmed out too.

Nicko, do you know why Marrow was sold for a measly £50,000?

Palace fans think they've got a right bargain (as do I). I'm surprised we didn't bring him back and have a look at him, got a feeling that one will come back to haunt us.

i dont think its a train smash if we dont sign anybody this week, but we need to get a few in before the Chelsea game. It will be nice to go on another good cup run, but the league is more important. Secure our status, then build a squad who will be challenging for trophys in whatever competition.

I would hope at that price that we have inserted some clauses. That might explain the low price.

If Adam is the player we want and we let him go to Birmingham, that's criminal. I hope we are just letting them make the initial incursion and seeing how the land lies thereafter. We need a midfielder first and foremost.

I'd rather we moved on to the "B" list alternatives for Duff & Roque now as they weren't brilliant ideas in the first place if you ask me.

The feeling of the previous and current regimes was that the kid won't make it at Rovers. So they took some money for him rather than free him in the summer. Reasonable gesture. Nobody expects that one to bite them in the ass.

Blackman is back here and thinks he can find a Championship club. That is about as hot off the press as it can get. I know what he wants - and he won't be getting it at Aberdeen unless they strike oil under Pittodrie.

Are we still after Seb Larsson?

Good player who should cost between 1-2 million right now.

Not at this stage. I don't think he fancies Newcastle either. We shall see in the next 24-48 hours.

Sorry, wasn't panicking about desperation, just trying to make a joke about C-men.

Trying being the operative word!

He is their third right back.

He complains that City has too many top players so a lot of them don't play as many games as they want too.

He is only 22 and an english international.

We only have Salgado for right back and he is 35. For the right money, I think it would be a good player for us.

Its certainly got to be worth asking the question. From the article it seems that he just wants to play which you would hope means that he would be willing to drop his wages.

Cheers

BKR

PS: He is also 100% a better idea than getting RSC

There is a Lancashire cup game early next week I think where a lot of the younger players are being played to put them in the shop window with a view to them going out on loan, there has been a circular inviting clubs to watch and naming which players are available for loan. The names that are being offered out on loan will shock a few I think and leads me to believe we are expecting a few signings to cover them.

If they have been named, why don't you name them here? ;)

Will you please stop with your little "Cheers, BKR" thing at the bottom of each post. You don't need to say thanks and your name is written on the side, so we all know who you are!

Nicko, you said 6 player+ have been approached. Duff, Adam, Roque, Ronaldinho...who else am I missing?

I'm not sure we've actually approached Adam yet but perhaps the six would incorporate the two lads in Spain and perhaps Ba?

As for Adam, I'm quite chilled! Just the little bit impatient. More thinking an actual display of money being spent would go some way to helping everyone relax a bit about our new owners. JW has been good at playing the waiting game silently in the wings in the past but as we are desperately short at the moment and in theory, have some funds to play with I'd prefer a little more expediency. A cup game would have been a good opportunity for a comfy debut.

Still best to get the right players in and let Birmingham do some of the leg work, I suppose.

This LT report is pretty gloomy

No rush on getting RSC sorted

Fulham unhappy with the way Rovers' interest in Duff came out and stubborn sellers

We are considering making a bid for Adam

Thinking of bidding £4m for Duff - that is way, way too much for an injury prone, past his best 32 year old. In fact, I think it's beyond believe.

For goodness sake, get the money on a decent central midfielder or two.

If RSC & Duff represent the 'A' list, I'm dreading to think who is on the 'B' list.

The euphoria of Wednesday has quickly disappeared.

Come on, there's still 3 weeks left of this window.... If not signing a player after only a week of a transfer window is enough to get you down then you're in for a difficult second half of the season.

Hello. 1st post - greetings from down south :tu:

They certainly said he was the most substituted player in the championship. I dont think they offered a reason as to whether he wasn't fit enough or possibly was seen as a luxury player towards the end of games.

 D'oh, that's what they said. You're right I remember now.
