Very cynical view imo.

The whole football world regarded the Ronaldinho and Beckham bids as realistic and serious.

Really Jim? It didnt seem like it, many questioned the motives behind it. They may not have said it in such a way, but it came across as a publicity stunt in the making

You need to have a good think about why you are so cynical about our new owners. I think there is some deep seated prejudice.

If they aren't going to spend any money why tell us that we are? How would that improve the Venky's image and their relationship with us? They could have just as easily come out and said "January is notoriously difficult to purchase players, we are keeping our powder dry until the Summer". People would have found that fairly reasonable I assume (based on what a few people have said on here).

Why are we sending the youngsters out on loan if we aren't looking at replacements?

Why do you assume they are fleecing us? To what end?

I'll be happy Bucky when there are some new players in and ones that I think will do a very good Job for Rovers and that this does not include selling the captain, something that i'm strongly opposed to. If it takes me to question the owners for doing so, then so be it on their heads and the criticism comes their way.

The end result has to be an improved Blackburn Rovers.

Second question of the day for you Nicko (I'll try not to make a habit of it...),

who is doing our negotiating, is it Williams acting under instructions from the Raos, or are they doing everything themselves? I'm very worried if it's the latter.

I'm pretty sure John Williams is dealing with the domestic targets mate, that was what Kean had said himself during his presser on Wednesday afternoon.

I think people are panicking far to early here. If you look at the transfers so far, none are of any real significance, mostly i the lower league's.

As Nicko has mentioned there is lots going on behind the scene's, the public do not know about. People moan and complain when our targets are made public by Venky's/kean, and now moaning because we are not saying we have made bids etc.

Has anyone thought that JW who is likely to be doing negotiations, has had a word with Venkys and steve Kean, and give them a heads up to keep lips sealed in regards to transfer targets.

Rovers have a long tradition of keeping deals out of the public eye, the last thing we need is to be announcing in public every single player we are interested in, it opens up potential for a bidding war, not to mention inflated prices.

Keep calm, take a deep breath, and enjoy the ride, it's the first time in a long time we can compete in the transfer market.

I’ve just read the piece in the mirror regarding Roque, what planet are City on? Roque has hardly kicked a ball in anger since he joined them and they want us to promise to buy him permanently at the end of the loan?

Cloud cuckoo land.

As for Bentley, I’d have him back in a shot, but surely his ego won’t allow him to make the move back.

That is a very good point don't forget how Bents was when he left for Spuds giving interviews to SSN etc. Personally I think he has a lot to prove by coming back he will get games so it should be win win for both sides.

Lazio only willing to pay £2 million for Santa at the moment,City after £3.5 million.

Clubs agreed to split wages 50-50 until July 1st.After that date City told Lazio they would not give them any money.and that they would have to sort out their own contract with him.

So a bid of circa £3M with the above caveats might be sufficient?

I would say worth a punt at that.

Will you please stop with your little "Cheers, BKR" thing at the bottom of each post. You don't need to say thanks and your name is written on the side, so we all know who you are!

Jesus, chill out.

Bloody post police..............................

I can't help but feel that signing Santa Cruz would be a bit of a step sideways. Niko, Mame, Roberts and Benjani have scored a similar amount of goals this season and I can only see Roque doing the same if not worse. Ideally I'd like to see someone come in who we know can be a bit of a livewire on the pitch and can be relied upon to put chances away. The issue I think is whether players like this would come to us, or whether we could afford them. I just don't think that Roque can be the difference in games any more.

Micah Richards wants out of City. I know Salgado is doing great there just now but looking at the future.

Also Roberto Policano... what are the chances of us going for players in the mould of Montilivo from Fiorentina? I have no idea how the players in Italy are rated (value wise) so am just throwing a few names around. Similar to Hamsik at Napoli?

Cheers dude, just think some people on here need to get things in perspective.

We are over acheiving in the league without a doubt given our squad, injuries, take over etc.

We have a young manager in who is tryng to get us playing positive attacking football.

Owners who, admittedly have gone about certain things in the wrong way, but hopefully they will learn from the errors, and they genuinely want to invest and develop us into a topsidenot only in the PL, but in europe as well.

We have funds to compete in the transfer market, you can say what you like about the Ronnie saga, but they were willing to stump up over 20million for him. They have confirmed in interviews money is available, and players are been looked at.

What more do people want? We all want players in as quickly as possible, but we all want players who are going to improve on what we already have, and even though there is cash to spend, we still dont want to start paying over the odds for players.

Look at Man City for example, pay silly money for some fairly average players, not to mention salaries, and all of a sudden any player they go for the price goes up immediately. Same happened with Chelsea when Roman bought the club.

Cynical, no, wary of them definately yes, We will keep the same management, then we wont, we never spoke to Maradonna, then we did,

we bid for Ronaldinho, then we didnt and then we did again, we are looking to get a proven premiership manager in charge, then we didnt, wary is the word as we get a different story each day.

That's what we paid the first time we signed him. A few years older and a series of injuries later he's definitely not worth that much.

Fair point Torgeir.

Maybe I got a little bleary eyed when remembering his goals against Wigan..............

Linked with Barton.

Sort of midfielder we need, but he could prove more trouble than he is worth given his track record. Not sure Morten would be to keen to to play next to him in midfield either after that sucker punch to the stomach

I think this is the main thing with people's frustrations over the window, we have been told to trust them and we have so much to spend, but each interview contradicts the last one.

Actions speak louder than words and no matter how many players we are linked with until we see bodies signed im afraid it all looks like previous times at Rovers.

I dont want to be pessimistic and after the result midweek Kean deserves to get some players brought in, after the press conferences he has given stating new faces are coming it would'nt be fair to him to recieve critiscm for us not signing anybody.

This LT report is pretty gloomy

No rush on getting RSC sorted

Fulham unhappy with the way Rovers' interest in Duff came out and stubborn sellers

We are considering making a bid for Adam

Whats gloomy?

That we wont get robbed on RSC? or Duff?

Or that we are biding our time on Adam?

No point wading in & paying over the odds for any player.

He will certainly divide opinion on here ....i like having a nasty little @#/? in midfield aand i think all the best teams have had one , i think he has made an effort to clean up his act , but as shown with MGP this year its still in him...for anything upto £3m i would say yes although i am sure i'll be in the minority

i think there's a difference between a nasty little b*stard in your side, like savage/dickov/keane etc, and Barton who has clear issues and crosses the line from being a tough/annoying/good to have player, to a total thug who I wouldnt want near our club

We are a football club not social services, he's a very good midfield player, sign him up.

Won’t happen though, Newcastle surely wouldn’t let him go on current form alone.
