Barton is a talent, I give him that. And MGP seems relaxed about the whole penalty thing, asking that he not be banned and inviting him over to dinner. Which means that MGP is either the nicest guy you'll meet or he has Hannibal Lecter tendencies.

I'd take him, i've never liked the guy but he does have talent we could use in our squad.

I think he has changed and that was shown by the effort he made to contact Pedders to apologize to him after that incident.

Kean has just said on Rovers Player that they will unveil a new first team coach on Monday.

He said it's someone that fans should be very excited about and has a great pedigree.

Nicko?

It is definitely not me. But thanks for asking.

A reformed character indeed. Now when he attacks people he apologises afterwards. What a guy!

Pedersen did nothing to warrant a punch, I don't think Kean would like a player who can evidently flip at any moment.

i think there's a difference between a nasty little b*stard in your side, like savage/dickov/keane etc, and Barton who has clear issues and crosses the line from being a tough/annoying/good to have player, to a total thug who I wouldnt want near our club

It goes from bad to worse. Duff (not much mileage left in him) Roque (had his chance, not called "Crocky" for nothing) Barton (please, do me a favour, will alienate a lot of the fans - I want players with some kind of decency and role models for the youngsters, please - is that too much to ask?).

Sigh.

Any ideas who it could be?

Nicko?

Sounds good, interested to know who he appoints - a good backroom is team always vital.

Yep, very good.

Any idea who it could be if it's not you...?

Checked out the Billy McKinlay line the other day and was told it is not him, which was a surprise.

Still searching on that one.

And you can forget the Joey Barton story. Total non-starter.

Lyon linked with Samba

http://www.fansfc.com/story/28309.html

I would much rather he goes there than Villa, we could get a better swap options from them also. Jean Makoun, or Yoann Gourcuff for example, would be a great additions.

My thoughts are that Villa dont have the cash for Samba, they signed Kyle Walker on loan from Spuds yesterday, who is a defender, and looks like they are signing Bridge on loan. Also I'm pretty sure Samba doesnt want to leave us to go to Villa, he wants to play in Europe, Lyon would be perfect for him, if he does want to leave.

Anyone think there is anything to be made of the fact Villa have brought in a left back on loan?

To cover for the loss of Warnock perhaps?

Surely it would also really be better for RSC, given tackling is outlawed there?

Italians know how to defend,so the tackles just don't look as bad ^_^

So a bid of circa £3M with the above caveats might be sufficient?

I would say worth a punt at that.

Every club is a different case depending on financial situation,League there in,relationship with chairman etc.

Like Alan says Lazio can just sit in,as they hold all the aces. They can flush City out to lower fee last few days of the window.

City want shut so it's just a waiting game.

Also Roberto Policano... what are the chances of us going for players in the mould of Montilivo from Fiorentina? I have no idea how the players in Italy are rated (value wise) so am just throwing a few names around. Similar to Hamsik at Napoli?

Riccardo Montolivo would cost Around £12 million. The likes of Bayern,Arsenal & Inter are keen on him.

Marek Hamsik would cost around £20 million. The likes of Sanchez at Udinese something in the same bracket.

Javier Pastore is the best young player in Italy,he would cost £30 million.Barcelona,Chelsea & City always looking.
