[Archived] Transfer Window Part 2

Nicko, just wondering if you had heard if Lyon are after Samba? Or is it just Villa at the moment?

I would be shocked at that. Not sure they could afford the fee - or his wage demands.

Villa was the only show in town last I heard...but this is the transfer window, so things can happen out of nowhere.

He has so many agents working on this, including Frenchmen, that I would not totally rule it out.

Is it me or should we not have been looking at Bridge??

I know it is a loan move & we are looking for Roque to fill our last allocation but we could do with a specialist left sided full back!!

Good player, but LB is definitely not our priority, we have Givet and Ollson who can play there, plus he is on 80 grand a week at City.

I would say Left back is a priority as neither of those players are a natural left back.

Persoanally O'd ratjer see Olsson on the wing and Givet as cover for the CB pairing.

My thoughts exactly!!!

If the right players come in, I can see Givet returning to France, if not now, most certainly in the summer.

Thanks Nicko, I guess they would have to throw a couple of players into the equation maybe to make a deal. Interesting that Samba did start out his career in France, so I dont think it would be totally out of the question.

See Redknapp has confirmed Bentley will definitely go out on loan, would much rather bring him on loan than RSC.

To me a left back is totally a priority. Givet has had a couple decent games now, but some games this season he has been so aweful I almost wondered if he was doing bad on purpose, and Chim is even worse.

Is that dutch? ;)

Gus Poyet as the assistant, or perhaps Big Colin Hendry? Ray Wilkins is my guess, although more of a manager than coach.

Fulham think they are signing Sidwell. Surprised we didn't show any kind of interest.

Looks to me we plan on playing pedersen with whatever central mid we sign, can't see him being dropped.

Are we announcing an Assistant Manager on Monday, or a First Team Coach? Surely both roles need filling with McDonald gone and Kean promoted.

100%, you just have to look at how Man U play with and without Evra, Full time dedicated left back with Olsson on the wing, Both covering each other and overlapping on the attack as well,

My seat in the Riverside give me a really good view of the left back position and it would do us the world of good to get a full left back in that position,

Riccardo Montolivo would cost Around £12 million.

Bargain. He is class. Seen him play a few times now. Perfect signing but doubt he would come.

We will never progress as a team then if that is indeed the plan.

On Sidwell I am surprised we haven't had a look, probably better than anything we currently have in that department.

kean confirms no bid as yet for Samba, and trying to convince him to stay. Good news hopefully. Also confirms strong team to play tomorrow, and its an assistant manager we are bringing in on Monday, not a first team coach.

In regards to Sidwell, I think he is pretty average to be honest, plus from what big Mick McCarthy just said in an interview, Sidwell wanted a move to London.

an exciting assistant manager? I've never been excited by one yet.

Hmmm.... Shearer - no. Tugay - surely not.

Its gonna be Big Sam!!!!! haha

Id like to think Wilkins or Steve Clarke

Chris Coleman? Wilkins would be class, as would Steve Clarke, Tugay coming back would provide a huge lift to us all, but I'm pretty sure he is settled in Turkey these days.
