niggit Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Kean has said this is not over, and got better in last 24 hours. Trying to get Ronaldinho to come over and speak to him.
super_badge Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Kean seems to have dug this up again. But Kean said on Friday: "No it's not over, as far as I'm aware that hasn't happened. It seems to have gone back on, and gone a little bit more positive in the last 24 hours rather than negative which is encouraging. Edit - beaten to it ! Another edit - bigger quote He said: "A bid has not got in yet but something might happen in the next 24 hours where a bid might go in."We first have to figure out what they are happy to receive and if it's over our value then it will obviously die but if it's not hopefully it will progress."
bluebruce Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I saw it too. Bizarre. When are they quoting him from? To all the world it looks like in the last 24 hours Ronaldinho has pretty much made his mind up and Kean is saying we are closer than before? Surely the quote is old...or he's been asked to keep the publicity behind the bid alive when given the chance. And I thought his contract had been terminated? If so, why would we still be talking about making an offer? Apologies if this has been covered earlier, not read the whole thread yet.
niggit Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 He still has a contract at Milan. And this was from the press conference this morning, when Kean spoke about this.
cruz Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 By all accounts it's from a press conference this morning and was Twittered by Juliet Ferrington (BBC)
hawkiiz Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Ronnie must have seen us against Pool then, and decided he wants to play along Hoilett.
trs Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Kean hasn't give up http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/8777388.Kean_still_hopeful_of_luring_Brazilian_ace_to_Ewood_Park/?ref=rss#comm
bluebruce Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Still, Ronaldinho's comments seem to make it pretty clear he will choose Brazil.
Majiball Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Still, Ronaldinho's comments seem to make it pretty clear he will choose Brazil. Surely there's a way to dissuade him over Brazil?
OJRovers Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I'd love us to get Ronnie, the match against Spurs on 2nd Feb could be Beckham v Ronaldinho, would be great to beat 'Arry after the chicken comments he made when we were linked with Beckham.
hawkiiz Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Does anyone know what question brought this up anyway? I wonder how far they have come. From the quotes it looks like Rovers has been in touch with the agent and/or Ronnie himself.
Scott18 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Does anyone know what question brought this up anyway? I wonder how far they have come. From the quotes it looks like Rovers has been in touch with the agent and/or Ronnie himself. They asked Kean is it all over on the Ronaldinho front.
brigrover Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Got to say, I hope Kean's positive/optimistic attitude on everything so far lasts as I don't think it does our club any harm whatsoever. Seems like a glass half full kind of guy.
Brownie Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 A few minutes ago The Guild gives as already settled by negotiation and contracting of Ronaldinho is already assembling the framework for the feast that marks the return of former world's best club that has revealed. This morning, the board began to assemble the apparatus for a presentation party on the lawn of the Olympic stadium. Companies have begun to install sound equipment in place. "It will be an event that features the importance of the moment. What's more symbolic of it all is the return home of Ronaldinho," said marketing director Grêmio, Paulo Cesar Verardi, with Radio Gaucha. The intention of the board tricolor is making the announcement and celebration in the late afternoon, but still no confirmation by the representative of Ronaldinho on the deal has been closed. Yesterday, the player's agent and brother Roberto de Assis Moreira, said during a news conference in Rio, that negotiation with Gremio, Flamengo and Palmeiras still last until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Despite the player has been on the fence about his fate, principals expressed optimism has faded with the hiring. Shortly after the conference in Rio, Vice football club, Antonio Vicente Martins, gave a show of confidence in a favorable outcome at the Guild by stating that the terms of the contract had been closed and that the player's lawyers are in Porto Alegre not in the seats of competing trading clauses.
67splitscreen Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Sounds like the fat lady is in rehearsal.
S15 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Sounds like the fat lady is in rehearsal. Sounds to me like she wants to stay in Brazil. Ah well, we tried.
MarkBRFC71 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 SSN saying Kean has ruled us out of signing Beckham, but 'remains confident of signing Ronaldinho this month'. Can't see it myself tbh.
cruz Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 A bit of artistic licence by SSN there Mark? I could not find a quote in the Sky article where Kean says he is confident of signing Ronnie http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6639758,00.html
hawkiiz Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 A bit of artistic licence by SSN there Mark? I could not find a quote in the Sky article where Kean says he is confident of signing Ronnie http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6639758,00.html To be fair that article is from the press conf earlier today. I thought Kean was talking on SSN a little while ago (another interview..?) I have not seen it though, so can't be sure of what is the correct quote. For me, Ronnie is a possibility untill he is confirmed as signed by someone else.
MarkBRFC71 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 A bit of artistic licence by SSN there Mark? I could not find a quote in the Sky article where Kean says he is confident of signing Ronnie http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6639758,00.html Watching SSN on the telly, that's almost word for word what it said on the text at the bottom. Have they interviewed him since the press conference or picked up a quote from elsewhere perhaps?
roverandout Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 i have just gotten used to us not signing ronaldinho, i hope he really is confident of getting him otherwise he might as well have kept it to himself, i cant go through that dissapointment again and have my hopes dashed!
ada2020 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Shocked this thread is still ongoing, there isn't a hope in hell of this deal happening, especially in light of some of the posts on the main transfer thread.
roverandout Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 did u not see keans comments? or do u have inside info?
S60tti_BRFC Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Kean seems pretty postivie all of a sudden about Ronaldinho... hmm, I wonder why? Bye the way, the quotes are from his press conference this morning, and if you want to watch the press conference, then visit the Lancashire Evening Telegraph website and it's on the homepage I hope he isn't getting my hopes up for no reason http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/
