hawkiiz Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Quotes on BBC if you want them. Can't be bothered posting a link. Hurts too much to read it. This one? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/b/blackburn_rovers/9341003.stm That's what I'm talking about - no mention of fee, no mention of club - just that he wants to go back to Brazil. Is it just me or have we heard that quote days ago??
Oklahoma Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Ronaldinho said today: "If it was for me, I would already be wearing a Gremio shirt" Poor lad, doesn't have money to buy one
cletus Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 If he has zero sell on value, I guess most of our players have negative sell on value!!! and is well known by whom?!?!?! Even if it was, it would still be better than what we have!! Listening to Rovers fans on talksport radio yesterday made me feel embarrassed to be a Rovers fan. How ANY rovers fan can think this PR stunt (& that`s all it is) is a good move for the club is totally beyond me. Talksport was full of these deluded goons yesterday. I was embarrassed. We are fast becoming an even bigger laughing stock than Newcastle!! Ronaldinho was a great great player. He`s done nothing for years & his hunger for the game has gone. When top footballers lose their hunger, they are worthless to a struggling team......which is what Rovers are. Basically we`d be replacing Benni McCarthy with a lazier more expensive Benni McCarthy....who doesn`t want to be here. If Ronaldinho is still so highly rated, how come no other top european clubs are chasing his signature?
philipl Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I think we have dodged a bullet with that one. Beckham on loan for three months on the other hand is a totally different proposition.
roverandout Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 why are we always being told we are after these great players, ronaldinho, van nilsteroy, raul and we always end up being dissapointed and end up with the likes of kalinic and nzonzi, im fed up of it, we cant we ever pull one of these moves off just for once. The last time i got excited about a rovers signing was when we signed andy cole and that was about 9 years ago.
LA Rover Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Ronaldinho said today: "If it was for me, I would already be wearing a Gremio shirt" Poor lad, doesn't have money to buy one Well who's it "for", then?
Oklahoma Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 For years!?!?!?! Last season, 43 games, 15 goals, 19 assits! Imagine if he still had the so called hunger for the game!!!!
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 why are we always being told we are after these great players, ronaldinho, van nilsteroy, raul and we always end up being dissapointed and end up with the likes of kalinic and nzonzi, im fed up of it, we cant we ever pull one of these moves off just for once. The last time i got excited about a rovers signing was when we signed andy cole and that was about 9 years ago. How many clubs try and pull of those moves?? How many clubs outside of the top 4/5 attempt to sign great players?? And lets not place Ronaldinho with other great names who were genuinely past it. Ronaldinho is 30 and has been having a decent season at AC Milan, he was nowhere near past it. Venky's should get credit for trying. But their PR needs to be far more polished.
Miker Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 PLTV just has a fanzone call up and Leroy Rosenior and Andy Townsend both laughed at us attempting to sign Ronaldinho. Rosenior said Kean he laughed when Kean said his targets are Ronnie and Beckham. Can you blame them? As I said in an earlier post, can you really imagine Ronaldinho strutting his stuff in our current team?? It really is a joke. Not to mention Kean, some unknown coach from Scotland, managing a team for the first time in his life, comes out and says "I don't want Ronaldinho unless he wants to be here". Seriously? It's one of the best players in the world, but you know, if he doesn't want to come play for Steve "Mr. Fantastic" Kean, then it's no go. It's like an ugly kid asking out a hot girl and saying, "She's hot, but I only want her if she wants me". He seems to talk big and Venky's back him up, but we still haven't seen ANYTHING develop. I'd love to have players like Ronaldinho here, but it's not a very realistic prospect right now. We need to build a stronger team first and not the unstable shambles of a team we have at the moment. Money's not enough of a pull factor for the big players, as Man City has previously found out.
Oklahoma Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 It's like an ugly kid asking out a hot girl and saying, "She's hot, but I only want her if she wants me". No, it's actually like an ugly kid asking out a hot girl and saying "She's hot but I only want her if I can go to bed with her". Flamengo's manager said the same Kean said. Both wanted to find out if he was signing to play football or just to get his last pay check. Nothing wrong there. And it's not about should he want to play for Kean or not, it's whether he wanted to play for Rovers or not.

If Ronaldinho is still so highly rated, how come no other top european clubs are chasing his signature? You are deluded if you think he is passed it. I posted some highlights of AC Milan serie a game in August and he dominated them. There are readily available highlights all over the Internet. The top European clubs aren't after him because he is no longer at the very top and his wages demands put off other teams that weren't at the very top. Plus he was offered to us!
True Blue & White Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Ronaldinho, personally confirm's the rumour that the Brazilian clubs trying to buy him can't come up with the cash Milan want.... http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=pt&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fgloboesporte.globo.com%2Ffutebol%2Fnoticia%2F2011%2F01%2Fronaldinho-pela-minha-vontade-ja-estaria-com-camisa-do-gremio.html So we may still be in with a chance, but the soundbites suggest he's got his heart set on Gremio so would we want a reluctant Ronaldinho? TBH, I think he'd rather stay at Milan and see out his contract and join Gremario on a free at the end of the season than join us. In another article from Globesporte, they say the contract has been drawn up but things are stopping it being announced, they were suppoed to announce the signing last night and it was delayed, then they were suppose to announce it today and again it looks unlikely to come according to Globesport. They mention certain "clauses" taking time, not sure if these are cash clauses (if so what was Ronnie on about not caring about money) or transfer clauses (thought he wanted them to be his last club).

True Blue & White Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 What's all with opposition fans saying "Whether would rather live Brazil or Blackburn" etc... On that logic Barbados should have the best league in the world.
Oklahoma Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Palmeiras urged Ronaldinho's brother and agent to answer quickly to their offers. They also claim Assis said to them today that no deal has been reached yet.

Daily Mail reading my posts I post this at ten to three and 15 minutes later they upload this.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1344349/Blackburn-target-Ronaldinho-claims-No-Brazilian-clubs-matched-AC-Milans-valuation.html They have even reported my opinion as fact! "Rather than move to Lancashire, he would seem willing to sit out the final six months of his contract and return home on a Bosman free." LOL

They also claim Assis said to them today that no deal has been reached yet. If this is correct, then quite a few reporters will look seriously daft, telling the same kind of lies that they accuse Venky's of. Hilarious!

alexanders Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Yey. We are still in the running. Come to Rovers for a couple of years. , Earn good money - play in one of the most competetive leagues in the world and get a spot in Brazil for 2014. Move to Gremio where your heart is after that. Easy said and easy done! Daily Mail reading my posts I post this at ten to three and 15 minutes later they upload this.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1344349/Blackburn-target-Ronaldinho-claims-No-Brazilian-clubs-matched-AC-Milans-valuation.html They have even reported my opinion as fact! adopted scouser Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I personally, am astonished that Ronaldhino isn't joining Blackburn Rovers.
True Blue & White Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Why don't the Raos offer Gremio the 7 million Euros (in exchange for big sponsorship exposure) with the caveat that Dinho joins us on loan for a year? Ah ###### he don't wanna play for us

Well it has been easy to tear their stories apart in the past, so I'm not surprised. Oh, and Hi, DailyMail.
bob fleming Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I personally, am astonished that Ronaldhino isn't joining Blackburn Rovers. It' the fact that he's turned down the chance to meet Steve Kean that I find strangest of all.
