roverandout Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 why does he want to go back to gremio? he started his career there, so surely he wants to broaden his horizons a bit more and experience other cultures, hes got a good couple of years left in him at the top, why just fade away now, which he would be doing in a mediocre league like the brazilian one, why not go back home when he really is finished at the top level?

adopted scouser Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 It' the fact that he's turned down the chance to meet Steve Kean that I find strangest of all. I know Bob, hard to believe. Still, look on the bright side, the door's wide open for Messi now
philipl Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Ronni's brother is notorious- look at what he did to Man U. Gremio's President has committed to a press conference so its the oldest trick in the book with Gremio now publicly committed to say ah but these people offered us a lot more.... Come on guys, wise up.
Kelbo Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 What's all with opposition fans saying "Whether would rather live Brazil or Blackburn" etc... On that logic Barbados should have the best league in the world. I dont know, Grenada and Aruba, not to Mention St Maarten would be pushing Barbados pretty high, Antigua also!

Look at several other Brazilian stars- they earn their gazillions and go home- Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Adriano and so on. Besides which Brazil is enjoying Chinese style economic growth plus football. Much of Latin America is no longer give the kid's parents a donkey and he'll sign for life territory.

booth Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Haha yes, that story was lifted off this board. Someone should issue a cease and desist notice. Go on, I hate The Mail
67splitscreen Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I think we have dodged a bullet with that one. Beckham on loan for three months on the other hand is a totally different proposition. LA Galaxy's first fixture is 15th March against Seattle Saunders, I believe. A deal that cost how much? for two months.

HemelRover Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 So, this press conference of Gremios. Supposed to be at 5pm GMT. Would've expected one of the major news agencies in the UK to have reported whats been/being said by now? Nothing so far.
cruz Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 So, this press conference of Gremios. Supposed to be at 5pm GMT. Would've expected one of the major news agencies in the UK to have reported whats been/being said by now? Nothing so far. Maybe they will announce that Lord Lucan has been found
Rainmaker Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 So, this press conference of Gremios. Supposed to be at 5pm GMT. Would've expected one of the major news agencies in the UK to have reported whats been/being said by now? Nothing so far. Strange: I was wondering something similar my self. Has there actually been an official statement from anywhere saying where Ronaldinho will be going?
HemelRover Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Strange: I was wondering something similar my self. Has there actually been an official statement from anywhere saying where Ronaldinho will be going? Depends on definition of Official. Nothing from any of the interested clubs or from Ronnies camp. Only quotes are from AC Milan. Although the Quotes from Ronnie saying that Gremio cannot afford AC Milans fee appeared about the same time.
alexanders Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Broken Picture Frame: You have been correct with a lot of info lately. Where do you have it from that he doesn't want to join us?
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 So, this press conference of Gremios. Supposed to be at 5pm GMT. Would've expected one of the major news agencies in the UK to have reported whats been/being said by now? Nothing so far. 5:30pm GMT it was, and they always run late anyway. Time to stop grasping at straws, he's decided to retire.
HemelRover Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 5:30pm GMT it was, and they always run late anyway. Time to stop grasping at straws, he's decided to retire. Aaaah. My bad.

Although the Quotes from Ronnie saying that Gremio cannot afford AC Milans fee appeared about the same time. AC Milan are still saying that NO BID has come in from Rovers - that says it all imo.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 No point in bidding if he's not interesting in coming, is there? The clubs are dealing with Ronnie first, AC second. We haven't got through to Ronnie.
True Blue & White Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 5:30pm GMT it was, and they always run late anyway. Time to stop grasping at straws, he's decided to retire. Globoesporte reported that any announcement would be put off again earlier..... In another article from Globoesporte, they say the contract has been drawn up but things are stopping it being announced, they were suppoed to announce the signing last night and it was delayed, then they were suppose to announce it today and again it looks unlikely to come according to Globoesporte. They mention certain "clauses" taking time, not sure if these are cash clauses (if so what was Ronnie on about not caring about money) or transfer clauses (thought he wanted them to be his last club). The REAL reason Ronnie wants to go to Brazil
booth Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 AC Milan are still saying that NO BID has come in from Rovers - that says it all imo. Was there ever the intention you have to ask. If they were just using this for free pr then they don't deserve the fans support. Or is it SS mischief making using old quotes?
philipl Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 AC Milan are still saying that NO BID has come in from Rovers - that says it all imo. I have met Galliani and know people who have dealt with him. There is an awful lot that can be written about him but AC Milan will not deny something which a naive (in football terms) operator in a non-footballing country could disprove with a fax, an e-mail or a telephone conversation record.
Stuart Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Such as shame that the excitement over Ronnie us dying down. For the first time in ages this mb has been a happy, fun place to be. In all honesty though, I think the chase was more exciting than if he were to come. Starting to get that melancholic feeling you get when you've stayed up most of bonfire night and you watch as the dying embers crackle their last and their glow fades to red. Next.
