who is the player we are going to sign?

Nobody, Nicko has posted on the Assistant Manager thread we have dealyed the timing of the announcement for a reason. I have asked the question is it because we are going to announce him at the same time as a new signing. Not immplying anything, or suggesting anything, but raising the question, yes.

Interpretation or fact??????? tut tut.

Neither, just raising the question.

Reckon we will easily be outbid for adam if we even bother to make a bid, couldn't care less wether we sign a barca b team striker with a poor goal scoring record, signing 16 year old powell is hardly going to help us this season.

our scouts need sacking!

Just a point to add, people who keep suggesting Venkys dont have a pot to ###### in. Last year they had an annual turnover of £1 billion, recording a profit of £118 million. Not to mention there own personal wealth. I also seem to remember JW confirming there was a lengthy due diligence process.

I totally understand people's concerns, and they Venkys have gone about certain things have been un-professional to say the least, but I do believe they will provide adequate funds in this transfer window, and i'm confident JW is negotiating possible deals behind the scenes, which is how it should be done. .

Personally i'm quite happy it's gone quite for a bit, as whenever we are in the news recently, were made to look a laughing stock.

I like I think a lot if not everyone are still undecided on Venkys, but I am willing to give them a chance to show they are commited to the club, and making us a bigger, and better team.

3 decent, solid players will do wonders to our squad, along with players back from injuries, we have a good balance between youth, and experience, a manager who is trying to get us playing positive football again.

I'm confident by the end of the week we will have a least one if not two new players in the squad, along with John Jensen as Steve Keans assistant, who I have been told by a Danish work collegue, is very highly regarded and respected as a top class assistant.

As I understand it, the overall operation is covered by VH- that has a turnover of $650m according to a web site within the Group. That is half of £1billion.

I keep posting that Venky's is about 25% of their operations.

I am also rapidly coming to the conclusion that the due diligence done on ALL bidders by Rothschilds was seriously flawed.

The over-reaction on this board wouldn't look out of place on X-factor ^_^

Nicko said the assistant manager announcement was delayed for a reason. The last thing I thought of was a coinciding transfer. The first thing to come into my head was permissions from other clubs, contracts, terms, other commitments, FA clearance etc etc etc

I wonder if Venky's knew they were taking on world champion moaners and whingers when they bought the club? :D

and you are calling other posters repetetive and boring, have you yet posted anything, that has not included whining about whingers or moaning about moaners..?

The rumour over Blackpool is ..BFC have accepted a £3.5 million offer from Everton ...For Charlie Adam..

Now my mate lives over there , but he is not convinced it is true !!!

tough to believe Blackpool would sell at this price w/ the knowledge that other teams are sniffing about... they could pull over 5 mil for Adam... why accept this 3.5 offer?

wasnt there recently a contract dispute..?

perhaps adam has made it clear to blackpool, that he wants to leave. Speculation on my part, but having a contractual dispute, would in most palaces lead to a fallout with the employer.

Sounds like Adam wants out.....

Holloway claims Blackpool are not looking to sell any players during the January transfer window and hopes to add to his squad instead.

When asked if it was correct the Seasiders had snubbed Villa and Birmingham, he said: "It's true.

"I've spoken to Charlie, he knows where I'm coming from, I know where he's coming from.

"At the end of the day it will probably be another storm in a teacup, like it was that he was going to go and he was going to be out of contract

Also worth noting Adam only has 6 months on his contract remaining....they do however have the option of a further 12 months to roll on if they wish - Although im not sure what would happen if the player didnt want to sign any longer???

Presumably, it doesn't need him to sign again as the details are in the original contract.

It isn't surprising Adam wants out, he is obviously going to at least triple his salary one would think at least. Is the ceiling for wages 10k or 15k a week? Someone will likely offer 40k/50k...more if they get into a bidding war.

Blackpoolare likely to do all they can to avoid the sale though, and certainly now as they have 4 Prem games before the transfer window closes. If they are on around 30 points by then, they may be able to survive with or without Adam...

Adam is nearing his peak, this could be a last opportunity for a big payday, so he will need to move whilst his stock is at the highest, a good contract now would set him up for life.

I am also rapidly coming to the conclusion that the due diligence done on ALL bidders by Rothschilds was seriously flawed.

I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that nobody knows how much money the Venky's do or don't have - or why their bid was successful. I base this on one startling conclusion - nobody seems to have any evidence !!

Then Rothschilds should be liable and the club should bring a lawsuit against them, something is seriously wrong here, you dont have to be a Rocket scientist to work that out, I genuinely fear for our football club.

Exactly and without evidence the sale should not have been approved.

February 1st is going to involve Kean confirming how "pleased he is to have tied Benjai down to a 12 month contract extension" and how "having Keith Andrews back is like a new signing".

Isn't it?

With the apparent Ronnie bid some clubs may think we are absolutely loaded.

I can understand that but at the same time most clubs were laughing at us too much to take it seriously. I think we can get the bargains the closer it gets to february. I would rather us wait for clubs to panic and sell at a lower price even if we are absolutely loaded.

Errr.........hang on, even if you were to accept that the Venky's mob don't have enough money to bring in players without selling first, (which I don't) how exactly would this make us any worse off than we were before?

It's a Dutch 11 o'clocker because I am a tad fatigued.

CHARLIE ADAM...Aston Villa are now in at £3.5 million...Birmingham won't go to that...Sunderland will be scared off at that...Rovers will wait until a price is agreed...Adam has 18 MONTHS left on his contract...and haggling with Karl Oyston is like wrestling a bear...however I understand the player wants to go if the right club is in...this is at the very tickly bit.

ROCHINA...word from Spain is that he will sign for Rovers very shortly...for a fee...rather than a loan.

No word on the other fronts, but that doesn't mean nothing is happening.

MALKY MACKAY...will be staying at Watford and getting a new deal...

EDDIE HOWE?...Chumbawumba...

I was actually making the point that nobody on this message board has any evidence - and that includes what information Rothschilds based the sale decision on.

Why let the lack of hard evidence get in the way of pre-conceived ideas ?

BTW - not saying that phil's fears are necessarily wrong - like him I have no firm evidence either way !
