I think Rovers may appeal to Adam mainly due to our location and maybe even having a fellow scot as manager.

Problem is he may go elsewhere before we even get a bid in

Surely it's a good thing no one knows how much venkys have to avoid us getting over charged?

the sky piece that had one of the rao brothers showing off 70 of his cars kind of shows they personally have mega money, and on the flipside showed the fella as a flash attention seeker swiss toni wannabe.........no way the dodgy looking brother wants run of the mill signings like adam fully expect maradonna, viera, cannevaro, ballack, klose and roberto carlos.

It's a Dutch 11 o'clocker because I am a tad fatigued.

CHARLIE ADAM...Aston Villa are now in at £3.5 million...Birmingham won't go to that...Sunderland will be scared off at that...Rovers will wait until a price is agreed...Adam has 18 MONTHS left on his contract...and haggling with Karl Oyston is like wrestling a bear...however I understand the player wants to go if the right club is in...this is at the very tickly bit.

Is there any indication that Adam sees us as "the right club?"

Or do you think it will simply boil down to the wages on offer?

ROCHINA...word from Spain is that he will sign for Rovers very shortly...for a fee...rather than a loan.

No word on the other fronts, but that doesn't mean nothing is happening.

MALKY MACKAY...will be staying at Watford and getting a new deal...

EDDIE HOWE?...Chumbawumba...

Very Interesting indeed, could be between us and Villa then I guess. This will put to the test the spending power of Venkys. Will we be willing to match, or better villa's bid? Will we be in a posistion to offer a bet financial package to Adam? One thing is certain, Pires coming out saying what he did about Houllier has not done Villa's chances of signing people much good.

Rochina is obviously a gamble, lets hope it pays off. Any idea on the fee Nicko?

It's more likely we will be the ones panic buying or perhaps selling samba without the time to get a replacement in just like we did in the last january transfer window with benni.

The ronaldinho bid was 100% a pr stunt as was the interest in beckham, venky's crave publicity just a shame it's all been bad so far,i fail to understand the optimism regarding the transfer window of some people on here.

The right club must be either us or Everton.

Selling Benni in the last window was the best bit of business Rovers have done in a long time. I fail to understand the negative attitude regarding the transfer window of some people on here. 10 days in, 21 days to go. If by the 30th we are in the same posistion, then will be the time to worry. Relax, take a deep breath, and most of all enjoy it, it will all be over in 3 weeks.

Question is, why havent we put a bid in if we want him?

To be fair, I've been wondering that, and I also can't understand why all these other Prem Clubs are piddling about wasting their own time and Blackpool's with silly bids of 2-3m.

He has to be worth 5-6m of anyone's money I'd have thought.

As far as I can tell there's no indication of Everton actually declaring an interest, just rumours based on who his agent is. Once this turns into an auction (if it hasn't already), they'll be priced out of the market. If he'd managed to get out of his deal and move for free he'd probably have ended up there.

Were doing the right thing, by letting the other clubs test the water first. Let Villa do the leg work, and test Blackpools resolve. See how much Villa are willing to offer, and how much Blackpool want, before considering a move is how to go about this. We dont want to start a bidding war.

Cards close to chest usually works best in circumstances such as this

Why 'show' extra interest in him? It would only create a bidding war - let them agree a price & then simply match it...we bid £4m now, then Villa will come in over the top, then we might go higher etc....just match it once agreed - why over-pay?

Yes, those are my thoughts too, I would have tested the water with £4,000,000 plus a player we want rid of, at least test the water, not making an offer seems strange as Kean says he is the one he wants.

If we put in a bid now then it would turn it into a bidding war and the price will rise. If we wait till a fee is agreed then we can go in with a bid for the same amount and spend less than we need to.

If Rovers match any accepted bid then they would qualify as a 'right club.'

No matter where he might end up it would be on much more money than he is on at Blackpool right now.

Nicko suggests that you wait for the price to be agreed then move in. Suppose thats purely to stop the price from rising further than it should.

Precisely. If we declared an interest to Blackpool after the Villa bid came in and offered, say, £4m, Karl Oyston will just go back to Villa with the details of our offer and try to get them to increase it. Better to wait until a price is accepted by Blackpool and match it, then hope to persuade the player and his agent that our offer is more attractive. Villa going down will help, presumably.

Price has gone up 1.5m today with counter bids ,let them all fight it out and match whats accepted simples.
