Honestly, if he's a real talent, why can he go for a measly £1m, and why isn't he being picked up by other spanish clubs?

Have we found a hidden gem, or is he not really that good?

Spain U19 = Sh8? I very much doubt it, for a £1 Million worth of Indian Chicken Farmers Money + a lot of people raving about a guy and us possibly beating other PL clubs to him, I'd say it was worth a tilt.

What would you prefer, the likes of our original targets or this guy? I'd suggest this guy.

Posted that vid yesterday, I think he looks pretty good but then I thought that about Carlos Vllanueva too.

I thought Carlos was a technically gifted player...But arguably he didn't have the size/strength to play in the premier.. And especially under Allardyce's style.

Ultimately, I believe the 3 million pounds required to secure him was too much a risk/out of our reach and the main reason why he didn't end up in Blackburn. I would have liked him to stay, seeing as he could be a great playmaker...

According to his profile Rochina is 182 cm. 10 centimetres taller than Carlos.

His contract runs out at the end of the year (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/ruben-rochina/profil/spieler_67548.html) and he doesn't seem to have an agent (not sure if he does and transfermarkt aren't aware or if he genuinely doesn't have one), anyhoo even though he's only 19 when you look at people like Rooney/Messi/Ronaldo who wer household names by that stage in their career and maybe he feels he'll still be in the B team by the age of 21 if he stays.

Don't be put off by the Barca thing, it is only their B team so it's not like he'd be leaving Messi and co to come to us.

Sorry, I didn't know we had beaten off other PL clubs for his signature. Which clubs?

and before you all jump on the bandwagon, I know nothing at all about him.

In short yes, how can we unless we have seen him play on a regular basis. All we have to go on is a 3 minute youtube clip, and football manager stats at the moment. I would hope we have had scouts watching him, and the feedback is good, not to mention Steve Kean is said to have good contacts in Spain.

In regards to why is nobody else in for him? Well you could say that about so many youngsters, it's always going to be a gamble, it either pays off, or goes belly up. Looks like we are willing to take a punt on him.

Is that FM11? or 10?

I'm looking at him right now in FM11, and although his stats are not as good as the link you provided, he still looks decent and promising.

I don't know. I just did a quick google for FM screen shots. Mind you that the screenshot I provided is from the 2012 season in the game, so not too relevant.

I thought the idea was to judge the owners on Feb 1st, on their signings in the window, not during January and not simply based on idle speculation? I dont think anyone has shifted from that view. Their actions speak louder than any twitter account or any rumour. If they sign decent players then Im behind them. If they dont, then they deserve criticism. So far, im not complaining at the calibre of player we've been linked with, but we need some action.

Its very easy to have a go now in order to look smug in 2/3 weeks time. Just hope that most fans can rise above that.

Very sensible post! that is absolutely what we should all do, but somehow I don't think there is a cat in hell's chance of that happening on this MB.
