John Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Read this... http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/david-conn-inside-sport-blog/2010/dec/21/blackburn-rovers-venkys-jerome-anderson He looks so focused in that photo. Steve Kean, the coach promoted into Allardyce's chair, is himself represented by Anderson who, senior football sources say, has for years rated Kean as highly promising.
Hughesy Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Read this... Very interesting, an other little bit of reading for those who think Vh Group is worth £1 Billion... YOUR BORING US NOW!!! We have heard all the theories before....are they worth £40m, £100m, £1bn - nobody knows, but financial people from India have said they have a private wealth & not all their companies are public ones & therefore dont have to publish figures. VENKYS themselves also said on Skysports just last week they have an annual profit of over £100m. If you want to talk about all the different figures floating around...go do it on a seperate thread FFS!
Tim Southampton Rover Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Also Adam Lalana and Alex Chamberlain from Southampton look very good players!! Adam Lallana has just signed a new 4 year contract at Saints. He's been linked with every club you can thank of. He's the best player at Southampton, he's a Saints fan and he has been at the club since a little lad. He likes the area (who wouldn't on the sunny South Coast!) and with the amount of money available at Saints, they are not desperate to sell. Infact, due to the death of their owner, the current chairman is a bit obsessed at the fact that he will want Saints promoted with their best players. I can see a few more signing for them over the next few weeks to guarentee their favourites to get automatic promotion. As for Chamberlain, he's a Hampshire-born lad and he's enjoying his time at Saints and like Lallana, he doesn't want to leave despite big speculation about his future. Funny tale about him and his father. His father, ex-pro Mark Chamberlain, was the manager at Portsmouth when Alex was a small child and he fell out with his chairman at Pompey by making sure his son signed for Southampton instead of Portsmouth because there were top class facilities at Southampton as well as a great youth academy. Which obviously meant Portsmouth missed out on a future top England prospect for free and Saints getting one over on their rivals thanks to their rivals manager.
Brownie Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Kentaro where @ Ewood today - wonder why? Assistant manager, new signing, something else?! Hopefully Nicko has something..... The non Barry White lookalike of the Venkys was at Ewood today too
Valois Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 The non Barry White lookalike of the Venkys was at Ewood today too Venkatesh Rao I think. Interesting, clearly Kean;s contract announcement, along with Jensen will be tomorrow, hopefully announcements come in three's and there will be a signing as well.
BuckyRover Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Seems its not just me who thinks it then. Bucky how do I put him on the ignore list? If you click on your profile there is an option to "Manage Ignored users" (something like that). Just search for him and click add. It's a refreshing experience. It's not the first time users have found themselves agreeing with a someone taking the Mick.
NookRover Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Jesus H......seriously we are still talking about if they do/don't have 'x' amount of money! Once again I call for a yawn emoticon!!!!

Good to hear there is another one, though it was just me and my old boss.
Pedderz0912 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Loving thestory on Chamberlain and his father - Imagine that between Rovers and Burnley haha... 11 o'clocker anyone?
BuckyRover Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I no longer live in Leeds. Living near Shipley at the moment. I did live in Leeds for about six years but moved to be closer to work. I still go out in Leeds quite a bit. I knew a few student Rovers fans while I was at uni but they have long gone.
tony gale's mic Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Done. Thanks for that mate. I see you are a fellow Rovers fan from Leeds. Good to hear there is another one, though it was just me and my old boss. I live slap bang in the centre of Leeds..

Sven did quite well at Citeh, if Anderson thinks Kean is promising early indications are he may be quite right. Lots of innuendo, Conn seemingly doesn't like Anderson but I must be missing the entire point here. Why does his involvement in an advisory capacity to a Club lead to the possibility of fines/points deductions?
m1st Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Never touch an agent, use your players mate, they are the ones who put the feelers out, then if the player suggests he may move to the club, then take it further through the agent, if you really must have one and they will move from there. Most of the British players who move between clubs are 'talked to' by a friend who is a player at the club in question, thats how it works. From the "Other PL happenings 2010-2011" thread: http://redirectingat.com/?id=2016X559007&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fifa.com%2Fworldfootball%2Fclubfootball%2Fnews%2Fnewsid%3D1363166.html%3Fcid%3Drssfeed%26att%3D&sref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.brfcs.co.uk%2Fmb%2Findex.php%2Ftopic%2F23551-other-pl-happenings-2010-2011%2Fpage__st__1780

Valois Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I live slap bang in the centre of Leeds.. Bloody hell, there are a few of us then. Will have to arrange a meet up before a game. I used to drive to Ewood, but last few times have been getting the train.

True Blue & White Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 You're not a Rovers fan are you? 319 recent posts all slagging off the new ownership/Steve Kean. Yes I am a Rovers fan, that's my problem. Whilst others are happily to close their eyes and hope for the best I want to be rational given what we know about Venky's, I can see our club and many people on here sleepwalking into danger. I am not "slagging off" anyone, just relaying facts. Fact - Kean is an SEM Client and either is happy to be economical with the truth, a bit naive or not on the same wavelength as the owners given the comments he has made recently. All I've said about the new owners I they are worth nowhere near what people think they are. People are drawing up lists on here that would total £20m+ if we got them and people are still hugging to that inaccurate LET report that said they were making £100m profits a year. If you have factual evidence which disproves my assertion that these guys aren't rich enough to fund £10-20m purchases I would love to see it, no really and it would make me shut up too. But all I've seen is people peddling the LT figures, That Ronnie bid or saying stuff like "My mate in India said they were rich" etc. Btw you forgot yourself earlier in the thread. You accused someone of being "easily pleased" when they said they'd be happy if we only signed Adam this window yet as soon as someone suggested Adam wasn't good enough for Liverpool, you started praising him to high heaven. Tsk tsk. Very sloppy work. If you actually look at the context you would see that when I was praising Adam I was lampooning the type of things people are saying on here I dont want this to get off topic but according to this article from the indian economic times the are worth a billion dollars. http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/opinion/interviews/Venkys-hatches-plans-to-make-it-big-in-25-nations/articleshow/6806072.cms The VH Group is worth around 4000cr or £500m (around $800m depending on the exchange rate), that is half the £1 billion pounds some people have stated in this very thread. Even so, that is the entire value of the VH Group if it were to be sold tomorrow and doesn't relate to how much liquid cash they have.
John Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 and,,,,,,,,,,,? Sven did quite well at Citeh, if Anderson thinks Kean is promising early indications are he may be quite right. Why does his involvement in an advisory capacity to a Club lead to the possibility of fines/points deductions? League rules ban any third-party ownership of clubs or players, and prohibit third parties from exerting “undue influence” over a club’s activities. The league will scrutinise Blackburn’s future transfer dealings and other business to ensure that they fall within the rules. The Premier League is monitoring developments at Blackburn Rovers amid concern that the involvement of sports rights agency Kentaro and player agency the SEM Group could potentially breach league rules.
bonger 26 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Bloody hell, there are a few of us then. Will have to arrange a meet up before a game. I used to drive to Ewood, but last few times have been getting the train. I live just up the road in rodley. Ha i thought i was the only one in this neck of the woods
beerwins Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Whats the deal with Kean's contract at first Mrs D wanted him signed up pronto but he was more interested in getting transfer's sorted. I read somewhere tonight that he is eager to get his contract sorted now, that would'nt have anything to do with a certain Argentinian wanting to work in UK would it?
davulsukur Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Bloody hell, there are a few of us then. Will have to arrange a meet up before a game. I used to drive to Ewood, but last few times have been getting the train. While we are all sharing, I live down the road in York. Not far from leeds
