It will be interesting to see who actually gets him and what they pay. If Venkys are serious about challenging in the top end of this League 5 or 6 million on one player shouldn't be a problem. Personally, I would have thought spending that sort of money on Adam makes more sense than paying Roque £90,000 (or anything near it) a week for the next six months.

Amen. He is only 25, so 5-6 million is not a huge fortune. Didn't we pay a couple million for Dunn?

Which in itself is a childish slur. I've seen Adam enough to know he is pretty good, could be a bit more mobile, but if holloway wants to play silly buggers for a player who if he stays will run down his contract. 4.5 to 5 is more than fair , if not get someone else.

Why?

To be honest I was extremely worried when they first started doing things - the sacking of Sam got me furius, and the random media comments made it worse, but I am not so worried anymore because I think things have cooled off and the Venkys have been doing a much better job lately.

We don't know for sure who the targets are, or how far we have come with them. To me the most important thing is to get the club in to a steady position and end this season safely around 10th place. I'm sure that with Roque, and a couple more bodies we will achieve that. Adam or not.

Is there any substance in the claim that we want to sign Adam?

As far as I can tell all we've got is speculation on here, everything we hear from the club suggests our money is being aimed at other players.

We obviously don't have loads to spend, if Adam ever was on our radar I bet he disappeared off it ages ago. Holloway laughed off £3.5 million last night, that will easily rule us out.

How we have dithered - we could have delivered a knock-out blow for Adam on 01 Jan. and would probably have got him for £5m - pay peanuts and you get monkeys.

We let him go yesterday because he was growing unsettled, fell out with the coaching staff aswell. Think the same happened at Arsenal with him he seems like a disruptive influence.

Surely the over riding factors for attracting youngesters to our academy is an appointment, wage, prospect, Kudos of being signed up by a PL Team that has actually won it and that has FANTASTIC facilities, they also KNOW that we have proven record in giving them a chance at reserve and 1st team football if they are good enough (More so again recently) ?

Reference your comments about rumours / whispers & circus etc.

I feel that we are just like every other PL club now, instead of being inside the cocoon that used to wrap around us, that used to be protect the whole club (Players, Staff and Supporters) from all this nonsense, but now, we have all been subjected to the huge amount of change that comes from being to someone else's club / plaything, and of course the commercial forces, gossip, rumours, leaks, whispers etc that you see everywhere else, especially if your profile is raised (For good or bad reasons)

Look at all the other clubs that are in the news at the moment, all of them are doing their laundry in public, Liverpool and West Ham are just 2 of many current examples

Yes I wish we could go back to how it was, but we can't, I suggest we all get on the bus and try and enjoy the ride, it certainly is not going to be boring and there are many postitives to take from the new regime, it's just harder to see them as people are always drawn to the negatives (This includes the Media, who have never much liked us anyway!)
