Anyone seen this?

@SkySportsbucko:

Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts could be involved in a transfer tug of war this month amid reports he is wanted by former club Wigan Athletic and Queens Park Rangers, who are looking at the forward as a replacement for the injured Jamie Mackie.

Yer, not to sure what to think.. we break his leg so we have to give them a striker :P

Not sure I want to lose him, he is our super sub!

Very early and fruitful start today and feeling pleased with things.

Then come on here to read Philipl talking about strong and independent minds making decisions that Dunn (don't really mind that one) and Samba (agree - suicidal) are going and then to top the lot, now seems we will miss out with Adam. How we have dithered - we could have delivered a knock-out blow for Adam on 01 Jan. and would probably have got him for £5m - pay peanuts and you get monkeys.

BPF described Ewood as a circus the other day. Rumours and whispers are no different.

I wish someone would have the balls and principles to come out and tell the supporters WTF is going on. Based on evidence so far, BRFC is one organisation that I certainly would not want to be involved in.

Additionally, has anyone thought how all this upheaval may impact on our ability to attract youngsters to our Academy ?

Good post and my thoughts also.

Give it up, guys. We are piddling about as usual with Adam, only this time our owners are even worse...

With Venky's running things we are at the beginning of the end...

The Venkey mob and Kean know nowt about buying and selling players thats for sure. How could they? They are amateurs at this job and that must be glaringly obvious to all in the way they so stupidly set themselves up for ridicule by gobbing off so frequently. Compare that to the last regime who in true Walker tradition gave nothing away. John Willaims knew plenty about transfer dealings and Sam Allardyce prob even more so cos he could play poker with the best but thats in the past as neither figure anymore.

If Kentaro are worth anything to BRFC and the Venkeys then it can only be in the next two weeks. Unfortunately they represent our only hope of improving the squad imo.

Yes I wish we could go back to how it was, but we can't, I suggest we all get on the bus and try and enjoy the ride, it certainly is not going to be boring and there are many postitives to take from the new regime, it's just harder to see them as people are always drawn to the negatives (This includes the Media, who have never much liked us anyway!)

You are right Dave, we cant go back & to be honest I wouldnt want to!! 6 months ago Blackburn Rovers were a boring team to support!! We played unattractive football, we had no money to spend & therefore could not even speculate. We had no real stand out players & if we did they would surely be linked away!! The media put us in a box & we were unable to change that perception

Now, things are happening!! I am genuinely excited again! I have not been on this forum as much in years!! Our team is starting to look good & we're utilizing our players in the right way which was a big frustration under Sam.

We have not yet signed anyone but there is alot of movement & speculation to keep us interested & once again we are ruffling a few feathers & this is why we are being depicted in a bad light, we always will be!! There are too many Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea & even Sunderland fans that want to think of us as small town relegation candiates

So I for one is just going to sit back & enjoy the ride, cause I know for certain I cannot change our destination!!

So you want someone to come out and say what exactly?? Everything is fine, and we are working hard as normal??

You can hardly say nothing is on-going….they have just appointed a new manager, a new assistant, signed an extension with Blackman, let Banton go, let Marrow go, let Judge go, signing RSC, signing a barca kid – aswell as talking to QPR about Roberts & Chimbonda....monitoring Adam etc.

We then have Salgado, Nelsen & Robbo all wanting to sign contract extensions….So much for an unhappy camp.

Now come on – it’s the 13th Jan….they cant do it all in one day. Sit back, sit tight & let them get on with business. No need for all the drama queens.

Surely the over riding factors for attracting youngesters to our academy is an appointment, wage, prospect, Kudos of being signed up by a PL Team that has actually won it and that has FANTASTIC facilities, they also KNOW that we have proven record in giving them a chance at reserve and 1st team football if they are good enough (More so again recently) ?

Reference your comments about rumours / whispers & circus etc.

I feel that we are just like every other PL club now, instead of being inside the cocoon that used to wrap around us, that used to be protect the whole club (Players, Staff and Supporters) from all this nonsense, but now, we have all been subjected to the huge amount of change that comes from being to someone else's club / plaything, and of course the commercial forces, gossip, rumours, leaks, whispers etc that you see everywhere else, especially if your profile is raised (For good or bad reasons)

Look at all the other clubs that are in the news at the moment, all of them are doing their laundry in public, Liverpool and West Ham are just 2 of many current examples

Top post my friend.

I think there is an incredible amount of naivety on this messageboard about how transfers are conducted.

If there is a player that the club don't mind losing, then it will probably be handled quickly.

Where that player is integral to the success of the team, as in the case of charlie boy, Blackpool would be crazy to even think about selling him until the very end of the transfer window after they have created a bidding war.

Do you honestly believe Rovers are just sitting on their hands doing nothing?

Get real. They will have enquired. Got told what the price will be and they will probably have told the players agent and oyston what they will bid.

This will have been rejected and they are now having to play the waiting game.

Its not in blackpools interest at all to sell us him yet.

Expect this one to drag on for another 2 weeks.

And rather than just jump on every rumour, you'd be far better placed ignoring the message boards for a few days and get some perspective back in your life!

Had we moved at the start of the window instead of faffing about until 7 January to sort out a budget, perhaps Adam would have been sorted whilst Dalglish was on his cruise.

As it is, and here my info departs from whatever Nicko is being fed, we missed out on Steve Clarke and we are certainly way behind the game on the player we have consistently been linked with over the past three months.

Disagree completely and it doesn't marry up with certain people that Ive spoken to.

Unless we came in with a 7+Million bid, there is no way they will sell until the end of the month after creating a bidding war.

But in the scheme of things - 7 million would be cheap if it gave us our first decent centre midfielder in years...

Morning Nicko, any news this morning in regads to RSC, Rochina, Adam, anyone else?

Not since midnight...

The key to Roque is the small print of his loan deal. Hopefully there is no medical or we might be here until March.

Adam is going to be one almighty fight. Shame he is playing so well just now. But that's life. The player has one eye on the exit door, the manager and chairman are blocking it. Money talks. But how much will it take? Rovers would love to see him signed, but you have to be sensible with valuations. I heard a figure last night - if it's true he won't be going anywhere.

Are we looking at double figures for him?

premier league survival for a year is probably worth £30Million.

If I was Holloway and Oysten, I wouldn't let him go until the summer.

There will be plenty of big clubs still in for him then.

A good friend of mine told me she saw RSC go into Brockhall last night, I trust her as well. She's fit but doesnt normally tell porkies!!

Sick of hearing "drama queen" as a term of abuse when people simply don't like what someone else has to say.

Anyway, tell Birmingham its only 13th January and they're not supposed to sign anyone yet.

This board is getting a bit ridiculous. Rumours about returned hampers, what the hell has that got to do with anything even if it is true? Rumours about the owners having no money. Rumours about this and that, which can neither be substantiated or trusted... Rumours about players wanting out or not... etc. etc.

We've just signed one of our best strikers in the last 10 years on loan. A good move. It also looks like we're getting a young, talented Spanish lad.

I think I'll do what I've done up to now, wait and see and THEN judge.

Thank Christ for someone able to post some sense on here!

But do you think Blackpool will go down if Adam leaves? In that case they are pretty much doomed if he catch an injury.

They are on 28 points now, with 18 matches to go. I believe the magic number for survival is 40 points. I can't see how they are not going to get 12 more points in those 18 matches.

It might be worth pointing out what the clubs in your 'zone' have been doing and hope to do. Puts some perspective on things.

BOLTON - want four players, but won't pay over the odds for three of them...small squad...willing to wait.

NEWCASTLE - tried and failed for Larsson...little else expected.

BLACKPOOL - bids for lower league, low earners.

STOKE - have money, but seem more intent on shedding a couple...Tuncay and Gudjohnsen.

EVERTON - little money, need to sort out Pienaar.

LIVERPOOL - total turmoil.

So, if Rovers strike hard and often this could be a time to land significant blows.

Yep all that complaining and there are an awful lot of struggling teams both above and below us in terms of transfers etc..

Thankfully cant see us being in a relegation fight..

But any news on Roberts move? With QPR now a striker short wont they be in for Roberts again or was that just a lazy article from the express?

It's not abuse it's a fact - we ain't even half way into the window yet & it looks more or less certain we have TWO strikers on the way in.... Tell Birmingham that!

Your naive if u think Charlie Adam would have been sold by now had we bid big money - it will probably run all Jan.

Blackpool bid for winger Hammill accepted.
