There will be new signings

An interview with our new assistant manager John Faxe Jensen from a danish newspaper.

Highlights from the interview:

* There will be new signings before the window closes

* They have been discussing the squad and acknowledged where on the field to put the effort on brining in new players (HOPEFULLY CM / DM )

* John Faxe Jensen says HIM and KEAN have worked out and delivered a list to the Indian owners with potential targets (Spanish names?)

* Having his debut against Chelsea on Sat.

Who is having his debut against Chelski? RsC?

Translation of John Jensen Interview. Your hero David Bentley even gets a mention you will be pleased to know 47er.

No mention of a new list though.

Yesterday, John "Faxe" Jensen presented as an assistant coach for Blackburn boss Steve Kean, and the new coach team debuts together against Chelsea on Saturday.

So far Blackburn in this transfer window failed to strengthen the crew, although they have been associated with many names. Among others, Ronaldinho, David Beckham, David Bentley, Sebastian Larsson, Charlie Adam and Roque Santa Cruz.

"Faxe" promise, however, that he, Steve Kean and the new Indian owners probably should have landed some reinforcements to the squad before the window closes.

"There is mentioned a lot of players right now, and it is natural enough. I will not comment on names, but I guarantee that there will be reinforcements for the team. We have discussed the squad's composition and have agreed where we be put in and it will be so worked, "says the 45-year-old assistant coach to tipsbladet.dk.

John "Faxe" Jensen did not want to comment on whether there is a Dane between the transfer would, as he and manager Steve Kean has returned to management at the club.

Seems there's some Adam obsession going on here on the MB - Rovers must not get giddy in the pursuit of any player, should stick to a pre-determined value - there's plenty more fish in the sea - don't ask me who though - I'm not a Rovers scout...

Common sense. Some people should take a breath.

But do you think Blackpool will go down if Adam leaves? In that case they are pretty much doomed if he catch an injury.

They are on 28 points now, with 18 matches to go. I believe the magic number for survival is 40 points. I can't see how they are not going to get 12 more points in those 18 matches.

Is 40 really the number this season? With the table so tight might it not take more than 40?

Guessing you used Google for translation? Don't always trust what it puts out. The final sentence says: John "Faxe" Jensen didn't want to comment on wether there were any danish players among the "transfer-wishes" (transferønsker - "direct" translation) - i.e. transfer-list - he and manager Steve Kean has given to the club's owners (ledelsen i klubben).

Kinda hard to translate but that gives you the jist of it - Alexanders main points from the article are correct!

I don't think so. If you doubled the points total of the bottom 3 after 19 games, 40 points would still be safe.

Plus I think some teams will fall off the pace, it won't stay this tight all season.

One thing that hasn't really been mentioned yet in the Adam saga is that Blackpool aren't going to let him go without finding someone suitable to replace him.

The longer it drags on, the less likely they will be able to replace him, and the more likley they are to keep him until the summer. Blackpool are looking relatively safe, but why risk selling their playmaker now when they could go into a Norwich/Burnely style decline? It's obviously hard to find decent midfielders so why let their's go and give themselves two weeks to find another one?

Villa news - Makoun price agreed 6m euros + 3m euros add-ons potential..... May be another out of the Adam race??

I don't understand why more clubs aren't going in for Makoun. He may be a bit undersized for the premier league, but he is a very good midfielder and there is every chance that he will be able to cut it. Good deal for them.

Impossible to say, but the teams currently in the bottom three are on 20 and 21 points, and I don't really see how they will get more than 40..?

The league is not THAT much tighter than it usually is. Last year after 21 matches, the bottom three were on 14 and 18 points. Rovers were on 21. The three relegated teams ended on 30 points.

Holloway on SSn saying he wants Adam to go, but only to a club were he will be loved and appreciated, and were he feels he deserves to go.

Adds to that the clubs have contacted them about him so far are not one of those clubs, and have no chance.

His hopes seem to be constantly eroding. He's had about 4 stances on the subject already. Sometimes saying only if Manchester came in, then saying if the top 6 came in. Now this.

He's a worried man who knows that Charlie wants to go and there's a price his Chairman would accept. He's trying to scare off the likes of Rovers and get the Blackpool fans (who already believe Adam would walk into the Chelsea/Man City first team) on message. Can't imagine Charlie Adam in a Rovers shirt would be very popular with the away end when we play Pool in March...

I Hope Anthony Annan is on this new list. 1 year left on his contract Seville trying to buy him for 2million euros.

he would be value for money.

He is good value. I think Sevilla bid 1m euros a week or so ago? Have they upped the bid? I think they will have to bid more than that to get him. The player is brilliant.

"After intense speculation that Rovers' new owners were working on bringing former World Player of the Year Ronaldinho to the club, Santa Cruz represents a somewhat less illustrious alternative - though in reality Blackburn are adopting a more grounded transfer policy to the one portrayed in the media.

An ESPNsoccernet source at the club said: "There was a lot of needless speculation about Diego Maradona being manager and Ronaldinho and David Beckham signing for the club. It has turned out to be just what we always thought it to be - utter nonsense.

"During the transfer window, people suggest an awful lot of things, but most of it you take with a pinch of salt. If someone rings up and says Ronaldinho wants to sign for Blackburn, you would see if they are serious, but clearly they were not.

"But no one at Blackburn thought for one minute that Ronaldinho would be walking through the door."

Nice to see some sensible and balanced comments on us in the media for a change
