Perhaps I need to expand on my statement for the schoolboys on here, if I were the manager and I didn't fancy a player, including Drogba, I would turn it down. It's a question of who is control of the team - the owners or the manager. Sam to his credit refused to bend to the owners and paid for it with his job.

Schoolboys, spotty face teenagers, whatever next.

Or his mundane tactics didnt fit in to the new regime's long term plans perhaps.

That's your 80th plus post in the past 24 hours - more than 3 times as many as the next member.

Some would say you have messageboard diarrhorea - with content of similar quality.

Looks like he has you on both quality and quantity, Jim.

I would have signed Shane Long from Reading. Good player who has come again after a bad run.

If Roque is costing £2 million for the rest of the season then Long would have been worth it - at whatever the price is.

I do like the look of Long as I see a fair bit of them, but he's unproven at the top level - Roque's been there and done it.

Championship striker coming to Premiership? Surely cost more than 2m, and possibly wouldn’t make the grade either.

Must say I’d much rather have someone whose been there and done it, but we’ll give him back come May if it doesn’t work out.

Its all about opinions.

Sam lost his job because the owners didn't like his style of football - and/or they were humiliated by the 7-1 to United.

If he got sacked because he refused to sign Kris Boyd and Geovani why haven't we signed Kris Boyd or Geovani?

And, once again, Kean said he wasn't sure if he fancied Ronaldinho or not - he'd have to meet with him to find out if he was serious about playing Premiership football. The meeting never happened, so he clearly wasn't.

Shane Long's very average so might cost less than £2m. Poor shout in my opinion but the experts on here think they know better.

Still waiting for your suggestions.

You're all talk Jim.

why should he suggest anything, when it comes to players.?

how on earth would that make his point of view more meaningfull. very weird to think that way.

Come on Jim you’re better than all this sniping, let the inmates run the asylum for goodness sake.

Happy with Roque coming back?

True, but they need bringing into line now and then.

Wait and see on Roque - what else can we do with his appearance record ?

His arrival does nothing to address the team's real weaknesses in midfield and at full back.

And until the owners start spending real cash I'll remain sceptical like most fans about their intentions.

If he's going to slag off other peoples opinions of players he could at least suggest some names of his own. He's suggesting by making that suggestion Nicko's knowledge and judgement is bad. To use that as a means of judging somebody's opinion he should use the same means to display why his opinion is in anyway valid.

Absolutely, you’d think all this money washing around for Ronny, they’d be able to buy a good quality midfield playmaker, time will tell.

They've never hidden their intentions.

They want a football club to raise the profile of their business, as a result of which they want to expand and make more money from their business.

To do this, their going to have to make a success of this venture, and that means making Blackburn Rovers successful.

if he thinks, the players being mentioned are bad, then so be it, but that doesnt mean, he has to scour the world for talent. Ive never understood such "logic".
