cruz Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Niko's revealing he's actually called Frank and works at Domino's in Bamber Bridge?

BuckyRover Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I like your thinking - Santa failing medical would be in some ways controversial (especially as we sold him to City in the first place) - and Nicko would see it as being good - as he didn't think it was a good deal for Rovers in the first place. Hmm... roll-on 11 o'clock That's a great shout. Although describing an injury as controversial sounds a bit strange.
Backroom Tom Posted January 13, 2011 Backroom Posted January 13, 2011 I imagine it's to do with a deal with Samba / Warnock / Collins growing closer
Wilko Rover Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Controversial in a good way, hmmm... signing someone from one of our neighbours?? Bolton: Elmander, yep take that.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 That's a great shout. Although describing an injury as controversial sounds a bit strange. The controversial bit (for me) is that we sold an injury prone player to City for £17m and then rejected the chance to have him back because he was injured. Hope I am wrong - unlike Nicko - was looking forward to seeing him back.
cruz Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Controversial in a good way, hmmm... signing someone from one of our neighbours?? Bolton: Elmander, yep take that. Not sure 'the new Steve Kean' would sell though
Valois Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I imagine it's to do with a deal with Samba / Warnock / Collins growing closer Surely that would be bad news? I suggest we are after a Kentaro/SEM player, or RSC has failed a medical.
Hi Mack Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Neil Warnock in bid to buy EHD to replace the injured Mackie......Now that is controversial!
alexanders Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 ryan nelsen getting injured during interview meaning we have to keep samba? Nelsen gets injured in interview
imy9 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Rovers are going to sign a kentaro player, controversial but he is a quality player!
Backroom trueblue Posted January 13, 2011 Backroom Posted January 13, 2011 Time will tell. They've more chance if we give them the opportunity to. I'm pleased with the change in philosophy and the recent results of the manager they put in place, and I for one am happy with the signing of Santa Cruz and the type of player we've been linked with this window. My only gripe the the way in which they sacked Allardyce, and some of the PR was avoidable. Room for improvement, but this is a new experience for them. Reasons to be positive though, and i'm a cynical person. Cracking Post Shilito! I agree with every word. Even agree with you being cynical too! LOL
Valois Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 ryan nelsen getting injured during interview meaning we have to keep samba? Nelsen gets injured in interview Ha have seen that before, pretty sure that happened a while ago though, seen it on Football Focus I think.
AspRover Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Controversial? Not content to give up on all hope of signing Ronaldinho, Venky's have blown the entire budget on a hareem of walrusses and Ken Dodd in the name of 'research and development'?
Craigman Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Grella/Andrews/Chimbonda and Brown all to sign new long term contracts ? or Benni to come back ?
michaelthomas Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Grella/Andrews/Chimbonda and Brown all to sign new long term contracts ? or Benni to come back ? Good news?
daren Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 So this thread is mainly about if we should transfer Venky's/Kean/Jensen/Anderson/SEM/Kentaro out the window? I.e. "Transfer Window"? Or is it mainly about new players coming in and old ones going out? Too much talk that belong in the "Beginning of a new era" or similar. You old boys who have been here for ages should know better! We poor lurkers have to read post upon post of esteemed members slagging each other off. Tough times for both F5, eyes and right arm. I must admit I prefer vague transfer-related rumours to this. Back to lurking! (Yeah...I know I'm contributing to the debate by this post. Mods feel free to delete. Old boys feel free to tear me to shreds!) This made me smile, because it's exactly what I was thinking. Seriously, I haven't seen the board so polarised and so entrenched before. Jim, JAL and philipl, in particular, are coming across as hysterical, which is a shame because I used to enjoy their opinions, contributions, and humour. Now they're sounding like Vinjay on the trust (yeah, you really do). Even if you're worried about information you're hearing, or just in general, the _way_ you're saying it sounds a bit mental. Fans have to swear their allegiance to Venkys by kissing a picture of Jerome Anderson before they are allowed into the next home game?? hahaha, this really made me laugh. Anyone else getting the impression that Venky's have taken some advice and shut up? Haven't heard from them in a while! I'm relieved, if so. Undecided about Santa, was quite unhappy with his antics prior to departure, but I did like him as a player and he seems like a fairly nice chap. I'd love to believe that he misses us. Dammit, I'm just going to go ahead and believe that! I understand the reservations of those that have them, particularly about his wages, which seem astronomical. Could the poster who keeps mentioning Bentley please leave it. He wasn't coming back. Plus he behaved terribly before leaving and I would hate to see him back. Wouldn't mind Long (I know, just a name tossed out by nicko) - he's a friend of a friend so I might actually hear some scuttlebutt He's improving, and he's still young.
Mullionvagrant Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I don't know something completely random like David Dunn is to be sold to make way for increased offer for adams. Or even more random Liverpool put in bid for samba and offer ngog in part exchange-tis the transfer window strange things happen.
blue/white Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Still waiting for your suggestions. You're all talk Jim.
tonyoz Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Seriously this is the 4th list submitted to Venky's and that is without counting anything Jerome Anderson has sent them. Well, it might be if you add up every vague mention of "a list" in every dubious internet source! It seems a bit like the way you ended up with the seven bidders you claimed were fighting it out to buy the club!
Jansen is God Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Or even more random Liverpool put in bid for samba and offer ngog in part exchange-tis the transfer window strange things happen. I thought it was good news. And feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but isn't "Ngog" french for "s**t"?!
slough_rover Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I thought it was good news. And feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but isn't "Ngog" french for "s**t"?! Agger plus 8 mill will do!
MarkBRFC71 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 WARNING. Tonight's 11 o'clocker will be a tad controversial. Two words - Diego Maradona? EDIT: just read Nicko said it's good news so I'm guessing that rules DM out then.
andyrover Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Two words - Diego Maradona? as fitness coach
blue/white Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Two words - Diego Maradona? EDIT: just read Nicko said it's good news so I'm guessing that rules DM out then. certainly ticks off the 'controversial' box.... but good news? I'll go w/ Venky's purchasing Burnley FC & converting Turd Moor into a chicken hatchery.
slough_rover Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Heres hoping the controversial news is us going for Barton. Been amazing this year regardless of the excess baggage. Highly doubtful though due to high wages and him being captain.
