67splitscreen Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 After last weeks incident and the adverse publicity, I'd say Diouf will be gone in the summer, before if someone wants him. As for Larsson decent player and always seems to give 100%, sounds like a Rover to me. One of the most accurate takers of free kicks in the Prem, where's your head crocky.
JAL Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Nicko- was Larsson on Kean's list? Seems strange that Jenson was talking about priority areas for transfers and we're targetting another right winger. That said he's not a bad player but with Junior, Dioufx2 and Emerton where will he fit in? Emerton's days must be numbered now, surely, and I wouldnt be surprised if EH Diouf's day are numbered too.
Backroom Tom Posted January 13, 2011 Backroom Posted January 13, 2011 *Stalker mode on Will you please stop writing "would of" - that's the second time tonight - unless you know no better. Stalker mode off* With regard to this great new signing, is that it ? ...... Sebastian Larsson, and in the summer too, so still nothing spent in this window. Message to Venky's: show us the £5m that is going to get us into the Champions League now , or I am going to get very cross. And another thing: why does Kean's famed list of targets consist of players in positions for which we already have decent options ? Or could it be that this is yet another player / manager / coach being foisted on us by Kentaro ? He learned from Sam and his love of right backs
tony gale's mic Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Larsson will be okay. Will add strength in depth if nothing else; and while Hoilett has looked great these last few matches there's no knowing how he'll progress. Despite what I said earlier, I also think RSC should be okay. Nothing worse, but certainly nothing better.
Torgeir Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 How much are we paying him a week? Jermaine Jones, no thanks...David Fevre must be sweating.
Mercer Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 What a joke. Opened a quality bottle of red in anticipation. Now off to bed as my work starts in just over 3 hours time. It can't get anyt worse - or can it? Doubt if I'll be staying-up for any more 11 o'clockers!
yeti-dog Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Emmerton's days must be numbered now, surely, and I wouldnt be surprised if El Hadj Diouf's day are numbered too. Jal...at the risk of sounding pedantic,at least try and get our own bloody players' names right!
rovgers Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 How many right sided widemen do we need - Hoillett, Emerton, Diouff & Dunn at a pinch, now the Swede!!! This smacks of thinking that's not joined-up and a bit too convenient for interested parties!!! FFS - we need 2 class central midfielders!!!!!!!!!! More! Emerton, apart from being missing for a month, as been rubbish up front for years hence the move back into defence. Dunn seems passed it playing on the wing and maybe Diouf as finally made his final outburst, which would leave Hoillett as the only option and he is far from the finished article and I feel he won't be able to cope playing every week.
Backroom DE. Posted January 13, 2011 Backroom Posted January 13, 2011 I think a few of our options on the right will be sold on in the summer... EHD & Emerton in particular. If Larsson's joining in the summer then he'll have a place. If he joins in this window it would make less sense.
Hughesy Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Seb Larsson, 25 years old, international player - superb crossing ability with bags of prem experience, and a dead ball specialist for FREE and people are not happy. Dunn, Emerton, Diouf are finished...we need replacements & he is perfect. Hoilett will be seen more as an attacking midfielder, perhaps in the hole or just off the striker - so I doubt he will spoil his progression. So thats 1 Swede in....how about Elmander next in summer...on Kentaro books, Swede & coming to the end of his contract. FFS people moan when we dont bring anyone in, then they moan when we bring in good quality players.
Roberto Policano Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 EXTRA EXTRA! Sources in Germany say Rovers close in on Schalke´s Jermaine Jones. Half-year loan deal + option to sign him permanently in summer. Thats in the german papers today. Jones I've always thought Larsson is a decent player, even better for nowt.
yeti-dog Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 What a joke. Opened a quality bottle of red in anticipation. Now off to bed as my work starts in just over 3 hours time. It can't get anyt worse - or can it? Doubt if I'll be staying-up for any more 11 o'clockers! Good...don't let the door hit you on the a**e on the way out. I've got a valium with your name on it too if you fancy it.
67splitscreen Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 With Brum taking Bentley onto the wage bill by the end of the window, that alleged 1m fee for Larsson may come down quite a bit.
PAFELL Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 It looks like the writing is on the wall for Diouf. Maybe the owners don't like his "style". Which is why they want the swede
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Nicko- was Larsson on Kean's list? Seems strange that Jenson was talking about priority areas for transfers and we're targetting another right winger. That said he's not a bad player but with Junior, Dioufx2 and Emerton where will he fit in? We're all blindly assuming that Hoilett is going to sign a new contract then? Isn't he only contracted for another 18 months? - and he buggered about over that one! I think Larsson is a decent shout as a right winger - they may be planning on playing Junior in the 'hole' or as second striker/attacking mid. Isn't that his preferred role? Edit: Damn you Hughsey!
Miker Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Seb Larsson, 25 years old, international player - superb crossing ability with bags of prem experience, and a dead ball specialist for FREE and people are not happy. Good point. Hoilett will be seen more as an attacking midfielder, perhaps in the hole or just off the striker - so I doubt he will spoil his progression. Hoilett HAS to play on the wing, he's an Aaron Lennon-type player... he'll just be average playing centrally or in attack.
PAFELL Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I don't want fricking seb Larsson. I want one quality centre midfielder for the love of god its been how many years? I thought the transfer window was still open.

Jim seriously, given some of the tripe that is posted on here, and the terrible use of English, and you have managed to pick up on that. You obviously have serious issues, and quite frankly the stalking has to stop, surely internet stalking is worthy of a ban mods? I feel violated, and that my every move is now been watched closely by Jim. Is it possible to obtain a stalker injunction on here?

Sverre Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 RSC coupled with good deliveries from seb larsson would be great a great combo.

RibbleValleyRover Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Do we really need Larsson? And if we needed a similar style of player why didn't we go for the superior one i.e. Bentley? I think most would agree that Bentley is a far better player than Larsson. I'm sure we could get by this season with Hoilett who looks really promising, Emerton and Diouf as right wing options. Focus the efforts on the area that really needs investment, the central midfield area.
Roberto Policano Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Is Jermaine Jones Kentaro/SEM? No his agent is Adam Davis,or was.
