Apologies for appearing more negative than I have previously been.

For the past week I have heard nothing but scary, and I do emphasise scary news and it has got me down no doubt about it.

I'm hoping that Venkys are about to prove that they have played the best game of metaphorical poker the world has ever seen and that Philip, myself and the other depressing elements of the board are parading ourselves apologising for doubting what was in the end, good business sense.

I have a 'friend' that has done nothing but claim the dole for four years but he is always setting up businesses and telling me that he'll be buying all his friends houses as gifts within a year, he has even been into Estate Agents to look for the houses. Sadly Venkys' naive nature towards football remind me very much of my 'friend'.

Based on the Trust's model, it's no wonder that they thought five million was a big investment.

Anyway, let's wait and see. If they do end up backing up their words with cash (their cash, not borrowed cash) then I'll be the first to apologise.

Charlie Adams price will only be higher in summer, in my opinion.

Blow the entire budget on Adam, or O'Hara, now.

Higher with just 12 months on his contract? Doubt it

I agree with trying to sign him now - but wouldnt overpay too much, as for O'Hara - promising but injured so far this season....he would have to be a loan 1st to prove his fitness.

Should be a complete ban on people saying "what they've heard" or "what they believe to be true". Either facts or keep shut please!

WHY? Or is it just jealosy because some people hear things about the club before you do. For example what is transfer speculation - should that be banned as well?

So we are getting a young, premiership quality player on the cheap and some people here are ###### off about that.

Bizarre but not particularly surprising atm.

Agree!

Seb Larsson, 25 years old, superb crossing ability , dead ball specialist

Add to that he can play RB and CM.

You think we have that type of player already?! In whom? Dunn, Emerton, Diouf and Hoilett?

Based on all that I've heard I will be AMAZED if we spend £5,000,000 on fees before February.

Not been able to post for a few days due to computer problems etc. But have been reading various posts, via my phone. I also will be amazed if 5 mill is spent, in this transfer window. But hope I am wrong.

Higher when Blackpool go down? (as I still expect them too..) During a summer transfer window when people have more money and are more likely to do business? Higher when clubs have just been handed a budget by their chairmen.. Or woman? Higher when clubs with budgets have narrowly avoided relegation and need to revamp their squads to make sure that risk is removed?

I can't see why it wouldn't be higher, or equal price. Charlie Adam has performed like a 7m pound player so far this season. That sort of figure is what people will be expecting to pay. In my opinion.

I always appreciate your posts BPF, but I must admit to becoming frustrated with them recently.

I don't expect you to reveal your sources, but if you can say as much as you do, which recently has been fairly negative towards Venky's, then surely you can tell us 'why?'

What is the 'scary news' you've heard?

Because anybody can "hear" things.

Speculation and posting things in the format of fact, such as "I have heard ..." are two entirely different things.

During the Ronaldinho saga you seemed convinced the money was there and the deal could happen. It's a little concerning that you now seem convinced there is a lack of finance.

Seb Larsson would be a very good signing. He lost his way after Brum's relegation, got a bit big for his boots, the change of scene will do him the world of good. My Brum supporting mate thinks anyone who gets him is getting a bargain and he will come good again, just doesn't want to do it at Brum anymore.

Hello Sir,

Thanks for the comments, always nice to be bigged up by a controversial but comedy legend on the board.

There is a sensitivity issue involved with a lot of this. A lot of the information we receive is from the club and from people involved with Venkys. The thing is, it is important to let fans know that there could (being carefully legally) be issues behind the scenes at the moment but there is no point throwing fuel on the flames. In other words, If I told you everything, it could make things a lot worse when this could potentially be a teething issue more than anything else.

Like I say, hopefully Venkys are playing a great game here and two months from now I will be praising them on their vast business intellect.

I was.

He was going to be the brothers personal plaything (professionally only, of course.)

It is the players we actually need to compete they seem to struggle with.

Another thing - A lot of my information about that was coming from Venkys (In a roundabout way). In hindsight the deal never had a chance, the question is, did they know that?

Thats the nub of it. Significant debt will kill us and I'm not sure the new owners have the experience, wisdom and wherewithall necessary to keep the club on the right side of the line.

The number of people who have previously had very solid contacts in the club who are now "very worried by what they are hearing" is growing daily. I see two possible scenarios, either somebody inside the club is doing an amazing job at creating FUD (so good in fact, they should be looking after PR) or there are very serious problems at the heart of the club. Either way, whether it's true or completely made up it's not good that it exists at all. Personally, as the people behind the rumours can't/won't go public with what is being Chinese whispered around, I don't see what people can do other than wait and see which turns out to be true, but it doesn't stop me worrying.

Appreciate the answer BPF.

You get the impression that because of the culture/standing of the family in Pune/India that they think they can achieve more than they can. I assume their staff treat them like royalty. Unfortunately for them they are finding out they are small fry on the world stage.

Key points still remain, is JW handling domestic transfers. Do they have funds?

Lets keep this thread to talk of incomings/ outgoings - rather than have Venkys got x, did Venkys do this etc.....Want to talk about that stuff, create another thread.

Point we should all take - it is a thread about transfers. Though I have read somewhere that mother hen is not coming over until feb now, even though she was quoted once as saying Jan. Feb is after the transfer window.

With regards to seb larsson - spelling. I would be happy with him at Rovers. he can play centre midfield. It would not surprise me if El hadj goes. Dunn, Grella, Andrews are either injured, coming back from injury and very liable to hardly play a game or full game. Dunn in my view is finished at prem level. So having Seb larsson would be good for the club.

Not too sure about RSQ - did he fake injury in his last season at Rovers in order to get his move to city. Are venky's trying to appeal to the supporters by thinking Rovers only sold him because the club needed the money at the time, but the supporters didn't want him to go - is that their motive to trying to get him back. Maybe why Duffs name came into the frame as well. If it is a motive, then is is wrong.

According to speculation, selective ones only.

It could also be a case of the contacts that they have are from the old regime and are adversed to change, or it could indeed be that there is talk of them being replaced. Both are perfectly reasonable explanations of why somebody within the club would be a little disgruntled shall we say. People are far more vocal about negativity. You only need to read these boards for evidence of that.

Maybe they also thought the club was bigger - because of being a premier league club - than it is. But as far as I am concerned, the fact Rovers have won the prem, makes them a top 4 club. After all only 4 clubs have won the prem and one of them is Rovers. Though I am a little bit biased.

But I do believe that is the reason some in the media hate Rovers.

Because a small club won the big prize, have the facilities a lot of other clubs do not have. Once had the transfer appeal of a big club. But now, due to fi

finances - or commitment / lack of ambition, from the trust in recent years struggled to compete and build upon the success of the past.

I really hope, for the clubs sake alone, that the Venky's learn from their mistakes, that they are genuine owners and build up the club as well as they have done in their other business adventures. We all hope for a successful transfer window that helps the club advance up the table.

So your mate has admitted he is currently rubbish. Well that explains why he is not playing for Brum. If we sign him I will back him as he is a Rovers player but seriously who is excited by him??

Would have rather had Bentley who we know what he can do. Doubt Larsson has ever played as good as Bents did the season before he was sold.

Why is he quality? I have don't see it at all.
