Expect MANY more

What do you base that on exactly?

Edit:. Read through (most of) the posts following that one, and got my anwser.

I don't know what your info is or where it comes from, so I can only speculate, but I do feel and hope that this could very well just be some employees being afraid of the new regime because they know changes will be made.

Changes that from a business point of view makes perfect sense, but from the employers point of view is cynical/wrong/dangerous I have seen it myself at previous jobs with huge companies. Some people get mega scared and doom the place when they hear that the owners are interfering. In reality the owners (at my former job) did the sensible thing from a business perspective. I hope the same goes from Venkys and Rovers, and I actually believe that Venkys have an amazing sense of business. Don't forget that they are from India. India is known to produce good business-men.

The posts on page 104 are absolutely spot on.

There are enormous causes for concern about Rovers.

It is in the hands of the Venky's to understand what the values and history of BRFC really are and to understand when they are being ripped off.

Anybody know what Larssen's wages deal is?

I presume we outbid Sunderland and Newcastle- two clubs not know for holding back in splashing the dosh on players.

Santa Cruz progress. Good signing if/when it happens.

Larsson. Good player but can not get excited about something that is happening in 6 months.

Buy this bloke from Barca B, a defensive midfielder and shift some deadwood and I will be dancing in the street.

Seb Larsson, 25 years old, international player - superb crossing ability with bags of prem experience, and a dead ball specialist for FREE and people are not happy.

FFS people moan when we dont bring anyone in, then they moan when we bring in good quality players.

But it's context Hughsey.

Expectations have been raised by a takeover, comments by the new owners, high profile links to BIG names, comments by the manager, hints that the "lowly" £5m is a fib, sometimes even Nicko's build up to things (there were, what, over 500 people on here last night?).

We are all football fans, ie. fanatics, which means we will get excited easily so is it any surprise that people are disappointed when time after time the news isn't anywhere near the hype?

What seems to be evident from the FACTS we have (Kean and Jensen) is that SEM are making their Mark on our club and it's not looking like wevare getting any of their A-listers. Is it any wonder people are "getting cross" or at least very nervous?

I'm also concerned that Charlie Adam is being built up beyond belief and if it weren't for Nicko's information, we wouldn't have a clue we are anywhere near. We might not even really be in for him.

We just need to actually sign a decent midfielder, so FFS get on with it already.

Peace out.

Don't rate Larsson. Just my opinion but squad player at best for me. Maybe a decent signing on a free in the summer but I can't see him getting in our team, to be honest.

Says who? Pienaar and Spurs are widely regarded to have agreed terms. I thought from January 1, all June Bosmans can speak to everyone.

They can only speak to clubs in other countries, as I understand.

I can't believe people are satisfied with signing an average player on a free in the summer.

I thought that venky's want to be a top 5 club(they are deluded),they clearly don't want to spend money and kentaro have now got their feet under the table,i expect the arrival of more mediocre sem players, hoillet is much better than larsson.would love to know if Kean was consulted.

Rovers may have got new owners. But it has been mentioned on here a few times, that they are not as rich as many other owners. So buying the best players would only add to Rovers debt - a situation the clubs needs to avoid as much as possible. In the summer, it would not surprise me to see diouf transfered. Why pay a transfer fee, when you can get the same players for free in 6 months time. Good business sence in my view. Also at Brum, Bentley is only a loan player for the rest of the season, so brum may well need larsson during then as cover.

Top 5,well Rome wasn't built in a day. At this moment in time, I would be happy for Rovers to be easily avoiding any possibility of relegation from the prem and build on from there.

Kentaro had their feet under the table from day one of venky's being interested in buying Rovers. I suggest that if owning Rovers eventually takes it's toil on the venky's and they want to sell the club. It would be easier for them to do so than it was for the trust, especially if the debts are still low.

Hoilet is a very good player and is coming on fast - but even he needs cover. Having another player who is good at free kicks is useful also.

I understand in part peoples frustrations but we are less than 2 weeks into the window so we cannot possibly know who we are or are not going to end up with or whether or not we will be getting any of the SEM stars! It is also not just as easy as people seem to think - clubs have to want to sell and players have to want to come to Blackburn Rovers, not an easy sell to someone playing champions / europa league football elsewhere perhaps?!

There are also some people on here thinking that Venkys do not have the cash they say they do - again I say give them a chance to prove this - but then wanting them to spend big on players in an over-inflated January window? If the rumours of the lack of cash are true then would we not be in danger of 'doing a Leeds' when the funds dry up? In this case caution until we know more about Venkys is to be welcomed surely?

We have made some progress during this window already and look like there will be more to come, give the manager and the new owners a chance to prove they are who / what they say they are before being so negative. People on here are so reactionary to "what Ive heard" and "rumour has it" and I think a little bit of common sense and deep breathing is called for.

The time to judge this window is on Feb 1st.

Article in the Mirror suggests Cruz is a permanent deal at £2 million?

I think Sebastian Larsson would be a decent signing especially on free - maybe not a priority area but good to have competition for places.

So your mate has admitted he is currently rubbish.

Well that explains why he is not playing for Brum.

If we sign him I will back him as he is a Rovers player but seriously who is excited by him??

No! He is a very talented player, I don't think you will find many that watch him regularly that will disagree with that. He has got a bit big for his boots, but that hasn't made him a "rubbish" player. Just a change will inspire him to move onwards and upwards.

No, because he is playing.

Me, I've wanted us to sign him for 2 or 3 years.

So are we going to hear an official we've signed him for next season or will they surprise us on June 1? <_<

It has been mentioned a few times on here that clubs aren't allowed to sign players through pre-contract. So I assume that is correct and his contract has to expire and the ruling only applies to foreign clubs. So whilst the deal may be agreed it won't be made official.

It's a £2m loan.

80k pw for 6 months. I don't necessarily believe we will be paying his full wages. But nicko thinks we will

A loan would end at the end of the season, a 6 month loan would take us up to June!

So, even at £80,000 per week x 19 weeks (to 2md week in May)= £1,520,000

Dont forget the outgoings which have offset these wages to a large degree, especially if Chimbonda leaves, Judge gone, Brown going would that cover £40,000 per week, so in real monetary terms, Santas loan will cost £760,000.

Only £4,240,000 to go

According to nicko the "end of season" means until end of June. I guess it's the point where the season changes from 2010-11 to 2011-12.

Some people are never happy, I rate Seb, and so do my brummy mates, who are gutted.

The posters on here who have pointed out our ageing and limited options are bob on here, we need proven PL players as well as youngsters, and we need a squad. This guy is part of that. When he does play for Brum, even in the flat back 10 they play with, he's quality, and he delivers. RSC is a proven and a good bit of business. If we get the youngster from Barc, then even better. Looks like we are stalking Charlie Adams, but it's getting messy, but with Holloway there, wasn't it always going to be that way?

Look, under the old regime, we'd have got NOBODY, so wait until after the Window closes and then compare and contrast, instead of just moaning please.

Nicko, can you help my Wigan mates out please? Whats the score with N Zogbia and Rodallega? They think they are both off to Villa, but I can't see that myself, but it's all carnage isn't it? Thanks very much, appreciated.

I bet the agents fee you are paying is massive to secure Larsson, not to mention his wages. Can't see why else he would choose rovers over Sunderland and Newcastle.

I'm quite a fan of Larsson myself. Am i right in thinking at Arsenal and his early days in Brum he was more of a right back and then got push up along the wing? If so not bad for a bit of cover down the right if Salgado gets crocked or Emerton is keeping the physios in work like usual.

I'd take him anyway, cheap and cheerful and a bright spark.
