BRFC1995 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Not particularly impressed, but I'm willing to give him a chance. A decent striker when fit and receiving good supply, sadly we're going to struggle with both so I'm pessimistic that this will work out. At least Grella will have a new buddy now that Dunny's actually fit again. dunns fitness should never be openly discussed it just jinxs it. I'd rather have got bellamy fron city (his wages are subsidised by city so don't see why roques would'nt be), well impressed the day we initially signed roque not altogether overjoyed right now though.....too many sick notes at the club.

S15 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Glad to have a world class player in our squad again for the first time since he left. Every finger crossed he can stay fit for at least three quarters of our fixtures.
budha Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Hear his on about £60,000 a week. City should pay at LEAST half. At LEAST. If nicko is to be believed, he's on £80k/w and we're paying all of that.
cruz Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I'd rather have got bellamy from city ( Post bail and he's yours

The same Bellamy who has been charged on suspicion of assault today?? Just what we need, more bad PR surrounding the club.
LeChuck Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 he has to know he cant come waltzing back in to Ewood and expect to play, he has to earn our respect, and one match wont cut it.Roque, proove to yourself and the fans that you can do the business, otherwise you can jog on! I completely agree with that. He's got to prove he's here to be successful and work hard. Booing would be outrageous though, it would be an awful reflection of our support if it happened, and the media would definitely pick up on it.

Every finger crossed he can stay fit for at least three quarters of our fixtures. not sure i would call Roque world class. i think its get us out a hole until the summer, Roque can prove a point by scoring a few goals(then hes prob go somewhere "bigger"),for us maybe push us to the top8 and we can sign someone more promising in the summer.
67splitscreen Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Hope for some repeats before the end of the season. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C67Hb1s64L4
des Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 if fit very good news. if unfit very bad news. Lets hope he still fit, he is a class above any forwards we have ayt the momment.
jim mk2 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Glad to have a world class player in our squad again for the first time since he left. Only someone who knows nothing about football would describe Santa Cruz as "world class".
Valois Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Hope for some repeats before the end of the season. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C67Hb1s64L4 Andrews still stands around pointing even when celebrating a goal.
NookRover Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 on Venkys BFRC twitter that we signing 'Mr Santa Cruz to become Rovers goal-shooter on semester loan dealing. Official announcing after player undertake medicine test' here a link http://twitter.com/#!/VenkysBRFC LMAO got to say that is very funny!!
bennyboyt11 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I think the emergence of Hoilett and Olsson on the wings may see a revival from our old pal, Roque.
S15 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Only someone who knows nothing about football would describe Santa Cruz as "world class". Well considering you're the thickest person on here, how much do you think your opinion bothers me?
the original david brent Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 here's hoping he fails the medical im glad people like you are in the minority! welcome back RSC. By all accounts, he had his heart set on a return to Rovers, and that's good enough for me.
Mr. E Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I really don't see how a player who is almost 30 and has had exactly one good season in his entire career can be considered "world class".
roverwhelmed Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Glad I can wear my Santa Cruz shirt again Welcome back Roque!
dr_awol Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 By all accounts, he had his heart set on a return to Rovers, and that's good enough for me. really hope his heart is set on proving something at rovers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GW-ojhMZty4
Valois Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I really don't see how a player who is almost 30 and has had exactly one good season in his entire career can be considered "world class". 10 goals in 14 games for Olimpia in 1999, I would say that was a good season. Apart from that and his season with s, his goal scoring record is pretty dire. I do think he is a good player, but needs good service, and a run f games in the first team, its a gamble, but it might just pay off. Then again it might go horribly wrong.
BuckyRover Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Provided he doesn't get injured in the warm-up there's no point playing Roque without Olsson and /or Pedersen plus Hoilett to supply the crosses. Hendry was a notable exception but players returning to their former clubs rarely works out. What about Berg and Le Saux? Just off the top of my head. It's not even as if we have signed him, it's a loan
jim mk2 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I really don't see how a player who is almost 30 and has had exactly one good season in his entire career can be considered "world class". He isn't "world class". Never was even in his pomp (one season in 11). Don't make too much of it though or your post will be deleted.
Baz Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Well the guy has been fit most if not all season, what he needs is games. Given our forward line it shouldnt be a problem. I think this is a decent deal for 6 months. We can use the cash we have for a central midfielder. Just a shame we couldnt have brought Dave back, but then again we are now out of domestic loans.
67splitscreen Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Early days yet but even if he does prove his fitness, surely after leaving us for 18m, he will be to costly for us. Even a half price deal there are strikers around for that sort of money without the dodgy Knees.
MeanGreenMachine Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 He isn't "world class". Never was even in his pomp (one season in 11). Don't make too much of it though or your post will be deleted. Do you two not have eyes? Did his first season totally pass you by? The guy oozed class.
