Oklahoma Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Nicko, if Adam doesn't come, who is the next target? Samba to Arsenal?

roversfan99 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 So Nicko you seem to be hinting that Larsson is becoming more likely a signing for this window. Also do you think the Jones deal will be announced tomorrow?
dan323007 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 He played all but about half an hour in his 24 goal season, so assuming he played every minute of every game in all those 4 seasons (becuase this one hasn't finished and he was injuryed/on the bench for the other seasons) he would average over 19 goals a season. Apologies, I understand your logic but I would suggest it is flawed logic. He didn't play every minute of every game in those seasons and it is impossible to suggest he will play every minute of every season from now on, he could break his leg on his debut. With this in mind I would suggest he is a proven 13/14 goal a season player and while those goals would be welcomed I don't think it would justify the £18 Million price tag. Would love to see him in Blue n White but not at that price.
Hughesy Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Nicko who with the negotiating team at Northcote today any ideas?! On site till wednesday night so id expect some moves soon to be complete.
JAL Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Nicko, if Adam doesn't come, who is the next target? Samba to Arsenal? Joey Barton of course
LessThanJake Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Warnock to Liverpool is doing the rounds down here in the Midlands
BuckyRover Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Joey Barton of course You can write to prisoners you know? If you fancy getting to know someone with an "edge". I'm sure they would appreciate it.
Mercer Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 It seems that the purchase of any players, other than loans, will be dependent upon the sale of Samba, who we understand, from a 'political' angle, is keen to leave. Events not unfolding doesn't surprise me.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 FAO Nicko or anyone who might be in the know: What's the likelihood of Samba signing a new contract at Rovers to commit his future to the club?
JAL Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Nicko who with the negotiating team at Northcote today any ideas?! On site till wednesday night so id expect some moves soon to be complete. Hughesy are you trying to put some positive spin on what is turning into another dire transfer window.
Dan Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Maybe we should sign up Roberto Carlos at left back?
Torgeir Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 It seems that the purchase of any players, other than loans, will be dependent upon the sale of Samba, who we understand, from a 'political' angle, is keen to leave. Events not unfolding doesn't surprise me. It is a difficult window to do deals in, with prices more inflated than normal. Just because we have new owners doesn't mean we shouldn't maintain our cautious/sensible approach. Besides, there's more activity in this window than there has been for the last five put together - and it's not shut yet.
Hi Mack Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I've heard Samba has done a "Rooney" and is set to sign a bumper new deal with Rovers! This could coincide with Villa using all their cash on Bent and Collins reluctance to move away from Villa park! I'm sure Nicko will confirm or deny if this is the same story he's heard!
Darwen End Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 We will announce the deal of Warnock this week, on loan. Hopefully along with Luis Suarez of Ajax
super_arran Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Hughesy are you trying to put some positive spin on what is turning into another dire transfer window. Jal, are you trying to put a negative spin on what is looking like quite an interesting transfer window for once?
Torgeir Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 We will announce the deal of Warnock this week, on loan. Hopefully along with Luis Suarez of Ajax Nice try, not allowed any more PL loans unfortunately.
Darwen End Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Nice try, not allowed any more PL loans unfortunately. We'll see
Valois Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Maybe we should sign up Roberto Carlos at left back? He'a still got it. good see Ronaldo has got back in shape.
TugaysMarlboro Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 We'll see There's no negotiating that fact i'm afraid.
Hughesy Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Hughesy are you trying to put some positive spin on what is turning into another dire transfer window. Dire window? So if they all happen....you would say RSC, Vazquez, Rochina, Jones and possibly Larsson is dire?? Ok yeah, compared to Benjani from the trust! Dont believe me, take a trip yourself tomorrow, im sure you will find the 'negotiating team' up at Northcote.
Amo Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I've heard Samba has done a "Rooney" and is set to sign a bumper new deal with Rovers! He signed a bumper contract just over a year ago until 2014. As much as I'd like Samba to stay, payrises aren't the answer and would prove he only wanted to leave for cash.
