He played all but about half an hour in his 24 goal season, so assuming he played every minute of every game in all those 4 seasons (becuase this one hasn't finished and he was injuryed/on the bench for the other seasons) he would average over 19 goals a season.

Apologies, I understand your logic but I would suggest it is flawed logic. He didn't play every minute of every game in those seasons and it is impossible to suggest he will play every minute of every season from now on, he could break his leg on his debut. With this in mind I would suggest he is a proven 13/14 goal a season player and while those goals would be welcomed I don't think it would justify the £18 Million price tag. Would love to see him in Blue n White but not at that price.

It seems that the purchase of any players, other than loans, will be dependent upon the sale of Samba, who we understand, from a 'political' angle, is keen to leave.

Events not unfolding doesn't surprise me.

It is a difficult window to do deals in, with prices more inflated than normal. Just because we have new owners doesn't mean we shouldn't maintain our cautious/sensible approach. Besides, there's more activity in this window than there has been for the last five put together - and it's not shut yet.

I've heard Samba has done a "Rooney" and is set to sign a bumper new deal with Rovers! This could coincide with Villa using all their cash on Bent and Collins reluctance to move away from Villa park!

I'm sure Nicko will confirm or deny if this is the same story he's heard!

Dire window? So if they all happen....you would say RSC, Vazquez, Rochina, Jones and possibly Larsson is dire?? Ok yeah, compared to Benjani from the trust!

Dont believe me, take a trip yourself tomorrow, im sure you will find the 'negotiating team' up at Northcote.

He signed a bumper contract just over a year ago until 2014. As much as I'd like Samba to stay, payrises aren't the answer and would prove he only wanted to leave for cash.
