Hughesy
He signed a bumper contract just over a year ago until 2014. As much as I'd like Samba to stay, payrises aren't the answer and would prove he only wanted to leave for cash. Agreed - IF hes agreed to stay, then he can stay on his existing 'new' contract. LeChuck
We'll see As Torgeir said, it's not something you can really argue against. The only way it would be possible is if we're sending Diouf back to Man Utd, but I really can't see that happening.

Hi Mack
He signed a bumper contract just over a year ago until 2014. As much as I'd like Samba to stay, payrises aren't the answer and would prove he only wanted to leave for cash. That's the way it is now, Samba will have been advised to say he was looking for a move knowing dam well Venkys won't want to lose a key player. He will get a new deal for even more cash and his Blackburn love affair will begin.....again! See Rooney, Tevez maybe even Bent now! Sambas my best player and you can't blame him really! Robbo and Nelsen have both come out asking for new contracts also!
LeChuck
Sam's mate might want him back early like he did at Preston? Possible I suppose, although there's a world of difference between his son and Allardyce. Also, it's probably in Man Utd's interest that he remains with us, he's getting a lot of minutes on the field at the moment.

I hope so he has been good for us first half of season and would be a big miss if he was recalled.
modes98
I thought it had been previously mentioned that there was no recall clause for Mame. Only other option is to sign him, which would be a good move if Fergie would let us.

michaelthomas
Villa fan i know seems to think the adam deal is alive and kicking from villa's end. Well the Adam deal is apparently moving forward from sources our end, the Chairman (not Holloway) has been negotiating a price with Villa, and once that's done and agreed upon then he's set to come down. I think it will be somewhere around £5-6m.

tonyoz
Jal, are you trying to put a negative spin on what is looking like quite an interesting transfer window for once? No, he baited his hook and waited for his first bite. Same as usual!
Steve Moss
Why not Dembele? If we get him and Barton, then with EHD we'll be bad boys. For those who can't detect sarcasm, I don't want Dembele, Barton or EHD. Not one of the three are old school hard men. Barton, for example, appears to beat up youngsters based on the historyd detailed above. Not what I would call "hard". In my opinion he is more of a pathetic bully, really. EHD isn't wicked, but he does suffer from lapses of judgment which otherwise undermines all the good that he does (and for those who don't know, EHD gives a LOT of money to charity). While the accusation of rape against Dembele isn't enough to torpedo him, that plus the allegations of drink driving and producing fake identification in total equal a big "avoid" in my book. So far as I am concerned, we need to be cloning Nelson's character and injecting it into our squad.

Torgeir
I see Chelsea are interested in Alexis Sanchez and have been quoted €30m. Cracking player, wanted him as our Bentley replacement :/ I guess Seb Larsson will have to do eh? Have anyone seen enough of Jermaine Jones to judge whether he would fit in a 4-4-2 formation together with N'Zonzi, or would they be too defensive minded? I don't mind us playing 4-5-1 as long as the attacking midfielder we play has legs good enough to run forward - hopefully V. Vasquez can be that player. I've heard Samba has done a "Rooney" and is set to sign a bumper new deal with Rovers! This could coincide with Villa using all their cash on Bent and Collins reluctance to move away from Villa park! I'm sure Nicko will confirm or deny if this is the same story he's heard! Funny that he signed a new deal only last season and apparently has been unhappy since the beginning of this. Someone obviously gave him a big head along with that captain's armband. I don't think his performances this season merit a new contract just like that, but then again he's not the easiest to replace. Not sure what he is on now and what he's asking for to start smiling again though - could be worth it.
