67splitscreen
Italian Passport so no messing with permits if the deal is true. Mentions something about an investment company doing the deal.

Speedie Dived
A couple of Argentinian journos on Twitter are convinced it's a done deal, just waiting on a fax apparently????? This must be John "Faxe" Jensen's area of expertise :-)
RibbleValleyRover
Formica, Roque and Jones in would be a pretty decent window for us.

Fylde Coast Fan
Hope it's true and he settles quickly. The reports from Argentina certainly sound promising as far as his ability goes, but buying direct from South America is a risky proposition. alexanders
This Formica seems to be hawked around everywhere. I've seen reports that he is ready for Galatasaray, Genoa, West Ham and now Rovers. I will take it with a pinch of salt.

Mercer
A lot of dosh for someone who we probably haven't even seen play in live action. Huge risk in transferability of skills and physicality to PL. Think this is a red herring.

Personally i don't think he was given enough time, foreign players need time to settle,he showed glimpses of brilliance, think Kean would have liked him. Johnno_160
Could certainly open the door up to a possible Dunny move If this kid is the real deal and adapts to our league....obviously if the deal happens that is. I think we would be silly not to listen to offers of 2/2.5m for him. Might also move us away from the Adam deal ?

Iceman
Trust me, Formica is ace. Would have gone to Milan last season apparently(Roberto to agree with or deny that rumour) there was also interest from Bayern, but nothing materialised. I will be delighted if this is true. Hope he does well, IF he signs.

steo
Dunn is going nowhere,Kean clearly rates him and last season dunny was superb,if he plays well against wba on sunday(presuming he's fit)maybe people on here will lay off him.
47er
Spurs as far as I can tell don't do cut price moves. Very good as screwing the last penny out of bidders. All three of those will have plenty of suitors so we would have to pay out. Each worth 5m though imo, provided they are fit and motivated. We should have a look at it. Don't know how Spurs get away with it. They collect players by the gross, ignore them and then want top money when they sell! Always should be a place to look for replacements. Very good chance of turning neglected careers around.
Fylde Coast Fan
IF we sign Formica, and IF he settles, I can see Dunn moving on in the summer. Letting him go now would be madness.

Speedie Dived
Also this http://english.peopledaily.com.cn/90001/90779/90871/7257866.html Argentine top flight club Newell's Old Boys confirmed Tuesday that their attacking midfielder Mauro Formica has agreed to transfer to Italian Serie A club Genoa. Guillermo Lorente, president of Newell's Old Boys confirmed Formica's four-million-euro move. And the 22-year-old will join countrymen Rodrigo Palacio and Franco Zuculini in Genoa, who are currently 13th ranked in the league standings. Formica, debuting in the Argentine first division in 2006, has owned 83 caps for the Newell's and scored 20 goals. Speculation that he failed a medical at Genoa. Bosselli failed the medical, but signed anyway. Formica broke down over the fee
xtp
Please go to the effort. Because I don't think it's true Regarding Desai's contradiction. I can only really post one here, as the others don't relate to the transfer market. Chairperson Anuradha Desai is quoted as saying that while they will pump in an additional £5 million 'to ensure they get good players she ruled out any high-profile acquisitions at least for now'. She is said to have told the paper: “We won’t need to buy expensive players, we can always lease them. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/blackburn/8478053.print/ Obviously the lack of high-profile signings quote contradicts our strategy with regard to Ronaldinho - suggesting their transfer strategy is being made up as it goes along - but she also later contradicted the £5 million amount, saying: "There is more than five million available to him. I would rather not say how much, I will say that when the time is right, but I can say there will be a lot more than five million." http://uk.soccerway.com/news/2010/December/21/kean-blackburn-can-be-top-five/ The lot more than five million also seems to contradict our approach so far. Kean doesn't seem to have 'a lot more than five million' to spend. Bearing in mind that his targets - not counting Ronaldinho, who wasn't Kean's target - have all been fairly small fees and or loans. The other famous one is about saying our aim is to finish 10th to 12th and then saying top five later on. As I say, can't post that here.

Tyrone Shoelaces
Gilliver is the centre forward we signed just after being relegated in 1966. He very rarely played for us because of an injury he had suffered at Huddersfield. His case led to the importance of medicals before transfers go through. As a result we got compensation......in the from of Coddington. The injury was a back injury he was supposed to have suffered before he came to Rovers. He had secretly visted the same Blackburn based osteopath that I later visited with my own back problem because he had lost faith with the club medical staff at the time. Eventually I believe he had a disc fusion which handicapped him somewhat but allowed him to play. I remember him trying to get on the end of a waist high cross and not being able either to bend down to head it or get a lnee up high enough to knee it into goal. Sad really because he'd a great future before the injury and he was a nice guy. If I had a £1 for every time I saw an opposition centre half punch him in the small of the back off the ball I'd be rich. The Coddington penalty had to be seen to be believed, longest run up I,ve ever seen, he came from about the half way line looking a bit like a white Michael Holding. He actually travelled faster than the ball. The Palace goalie stopped the 'shot' with contemptuous ease. Best thing was the ref made him take it again ! Why I don't know maybe he was in shock or he wanted an action replay. Of course exactly the same run-up, shot and save ensued ! I think a bit later on we got another pen which Fergie scored to win us the game. Happy Days.
