G.I.Jones is a loanee with the possibility that come summer he wont be here, plus, he hasnt performed here before, so will be be capable, we shall see.

Barton would be settled, longer term and able to impact with immediate effect. It's a no brainer IMO.

You're wrong!!! How has Landon Donovan done and Clint Dempsey done over here? Very well indeed. It might be a loan but we have the option to sign him permanent if it works out. Who is to say barton would settle living around here? There are no NO BRAINERS in football. And theres me thinking you know something about football!!!!!!

Posted earlier Walshy that Micheal Bradley would most definitely as an alternative to Barton, please me for the central midfield position at Rovers.

This is like watching a river run around a huge rock. The rock might give way eventually, but I won't be around to see it happen.

Barton is paid far too much considering he, by his own admission, will always be seconds away from lashing out at someone. I'd hate to see Rovers line the pockets of a man who, at best, has continually shown an inability to control his temper and at worst has been guilty of vicious assaults on colleagues.

Nothing to date has changed him, whether it be incentive or punishment, and at this point I think he is beyond help.

I must say I am encouraged by the type of signings we are making, time will tell if they can be gelled into a decent team but I really can see what Kean is trying to do, we now appear to have a ball winner who can pass a ball, a leader of the line up front who is good in the air, can play back to goal, has an excellent first touch and link play, I do feel another quality central midfielder along with the young Barca lad, will have represented a very good transfer window.

If we can offload Chimbonda, Andrews, EHD and one or two more, the impact on wages wont be too bad at all.

Tim Vickery (journalist) just been on talksport talking about Mauro Formica.

He said that Formica reminds him of a young Kaka and he is a very promising player. He is suspicious of all the talk of him joining us because it could be his agent putting it out there to push a move through.

Seems a well researched article. If he comes in that's great. I guess it has been prompted by Diouf being on his way out.

Samba for 6m is a joke. He is on a long contract and he will accept that we want more for him than that. I can't see him refusing to train or anything like that. 12m would be my personal target.

We would be alright at centreback - Gunning, Nelsen, Givet offer enough cover although we would be undoubtedly weaker and have a couple of worries in the pace department - but the main concern would be left back. Olsson is a poor defender and with Chimbonda black listed (quite rightly!) we are looking at having to rely on young Morris if Givet plays central.

Asked the same guy about Formica as I did with Rochina,

He's bloody lovely! Moves and is built like a feather mind, which maybe a problem. He'll have the fans foaming at their mouths.

Your classic No 10, very much in the Aimar mould. Exciting times ahead should he sign, it better go through!

I also asked the scout who previously gave his opinion on the Barca boys.

South America was his stamping ground.

On Formica:

"Similar type player to Eyal Berkovic, only more agile & quicker, can cover the pitch better than Eyal Berkovic.

Very powerful shot from range,Plays better when employed in a free roll, with 2 or 3 strikers ahead of him.

Likes to get himself into the box with the strikers and score goals.

Isn't scared to put in a shift, unlike some Argies."

I respect this guys opinion, he knows the business. Making it in the England is no guarantee as we all know.

No. Barton is a completely different kettle of fish. His problems are not lack of football, a stale career, being young and untried. His problems are his behaviour on and off the field, which has been criminal and detrimental to some of the teams he has played for. He's old enough now to be wiser if he were capable of it, but the fact is, I don't think he's changed enough for it to be a risk worth taking.

When do we stop giving chances to people? His history on and off the field is a disgrace. But there is no doubt that he can play football. He is also a player who receives a lot of provocation on the field, because players know it is easy to wind him up.

As to wiether I would want him at Rovers. As a player, yes.

As a person I do not know.

Rovers have had savage, diouf who both brought baggage with them when they came to the club.

Newell's sporting director says Mauro Formica is being sold to Red Star Belgrade and then loaned to Blackburn #BRFC (via @lhricossa)

strange to say the least.

Wouldn't be keen on that to be honest, loans are ok when there is potential to sign them at the end, that obviously wouldn't be the case here.

Avoid if so, it would take him time to get into the league and by that time he'd be on his way back

So Venky´s are serious with this player leasing idea. Maybe we have a different squad for every season for now on. Why not pay this lad´s fee, it isn´t huge.
