Exactly. If anything, we had better chances in the first half.

we looked more dangerous upfront when he came on.

the difference in class was there for all to see. He holds the ball up so well and pulls defenders all over the place with his intelligent running. his main problem looked like he was short of match fitness which is unsurprising giving that he hasn't been playing.

I want Kalinic and Roque to start. We need to see if they can form a partnership.

Mame is a good option to bring on from the bench.

mama has twice the running in him, power and pace for rsc to pick out.

i'd definitely have kalanic on the bench for the last 25

Kalinic played a different role in the previous West Brom game he was asked to get forward more, ball was played in front of him and was asked to move into the channels more often. Against Chelsea he was asked to play the role that Allardyce employed him in i.e. a far deeper role and being a link up man. A role that didn't work under Sam and probably won't under Kean.

A Roque and Kalinic partnership could work if Roque plays that role and Niko plays a similar role to the one that saw him get a brace.

On to the game I thought in the previous encounter against West Brom game we lived dangerously at times. Even though they didn't have clear cut chances they did cause us some serious problems in midfield and that left winger (Jerome Thomas?) ripped Salgado apart at times with his pace.

Key players for me are Jones, Hoilett and Olsson. Jones if he starts will want to put in a solid performance, West Brom have a nice balanced midfield from what I’ve seen so it could be a battle. Looking at his disciplinary record he will need to be careful he isn't over enthusiastic with his tackling being desperate to impress. Hoilett and Olsson need to be the chief creative forces once again as we still have no central midfield creativity in the side.

Going for a 1-0 Rovers win, West Brom are fighting for their lives and should be up for it.

Robinson

Salgado Nelson Samba

J.Jones

Hoilett Pederson Olsson

M.Diouf

Santa Cruz Kalnic

Not sure about Salgado as part of 3 centreback but trying to fit our best players in to one side so just an idea :)

I think Hoilett as a wingback would be a disaster, i'm confident he will go 442, one out of Kali,RSC and MB Diouf will have to start on the bench.

Mame Diouf instead of Kalinic and I agree with duffbear's team. Mame Diouf more of a workhorse, quicker and stronger than Kalinic. Bring Kalinic on late in the game.

My bad- it was Topman's team I agreed with, didn't scroll far up enough.

Not sure what you're getting at Braddock, as duffbear's team contained 11? Though as I explained, my previous post was done in error.

But I'm not getting involved in any flaming on here, too many miserable people on here who would still complain whatever the circumstances.

I wasn't flaming you, I was just interested in what your team would be. According to the one you agreed with you were swapping Mama for Kalinic, but Mama was in the hole and Kalinic was up front. Then you said Kalinic on the bench, so who do you want in the hole? I'll go look at Topmans post to clear things up though.

Don't be so defensive.

Probably should have viewed both teams a bit more clearly instead of glancing then posting, but never mind.

Topman's team was pretty much as strong as we could go at this time, assuming (Jermaine) Jones is fit enough to start.

Yeah, Topmans team would be fine for me. I'm happy either way with Mama or Niko.

I just don't like seeing Pedersen in the middle, however I've rarely seen him play with a proper defensive midfielder so he could be OK, and I do like having two pacey wingers and he's always a threat from set pieces.

If it was Topmans team then I'd be confident of getting a result of some form, and probably a win, providing we played to our capabilities.

Paul Merson predicts us to win, but is still tagging us with the long ball, long throw, set piece specialists of the Allardyce era. Further proof of him knowing jack s**t, and an indication he hasn't watched any of our recent games, and has no idea of the football philosophy of kean and jensen.

However he is deemed suitable by sky to comment on our match.

I'd firstly like to say Hi to all, as this is my first post! Personally with the injuries i'd like to see them play:

ROBINSON

SALGADO - SAMBA - GIVET - OLSSON

HOILETT - J. JONES - DUNN - PEDERSEN

M. DIOUF - SANTA CRUZ

Lets have a good win here please!

Rovers 2 WBA 0

I must say its sad to see so many unsold seats via the online service for a game priced at just £10

Att: 24,500

I think a lot will turn up and purchase tickets on the day, plus been on sky doesn't help. Anyway got my ticket.

I gave up listening to 'Merse' when we first signed Santa Cruz. He was on Soccer Saturday saying how he was a waste of money etc etc. A few games later after he'd started banging the goals in Merse had him down as the best thing since sliced bread.

The guys a buffoon.

Another example of Sky demonstrating their lack of knowledge or effort with regards to us. Our possible starting XI under this weekends match preview is as follows:

Robinson

Salgado - Nelsen - Samba - Givet

EHD - Dunn - Jones - Andrews - Pedersen

Santa Cruz

There is zero chance of that being our starting line-up for a whole host of reasons.

I'm not even sure if the writer of this article even knows who Jermaine Jones is or his standard position.

They refer to him as forming the basis of a 'new-look' attack.

LAZY!!
