Sorry but all i've got to say to that principle is Colin hendry and david dunn. Oh and add henning berg

Apologies if i have this wrong but I thought the transfers out of Hendry (we had little money at the time) and Dunn (alleged fallout with Souey) were not driven by the individuals at the time. There is a difference.

Colleague of mine who's a Gooner and was at today's match has told me that there's speculation down there about Samba. Some think it's just what Arsenal need (an ideal foil and added presence and steel ala Adams, Bould, Keown) whilst others are in despair about it!

Nicko mentioned earlier today about Rovers inquiring about a centre half - related ?

Big prediction/comment I know but thats just how much i rate him!!!

Anyway, I'll stop my dreaming of Charlie Adam, lets go and get Kranjar. Would be a great signing

Interesting that you rate him so highly - when most Blackpool fans don't seem to rate him as highly. Indeed a number are critical of ball retention and speed to cover the ground. At £3m plus add ons he was worth a go - but anything over £5m (as it seems to be going) is way too high IMO.

I do wonder (as somebody else mentioned) whether he is a good player in the current Blackpool system - and may not be so effective besides another midfield partner or different playing style.

More interesting was the talk of Diego Forlan moving but for his 100,000/week wages. That equates to about 5 million/year and would be in keeping with published reports as to Venkys' "marquee" signing budget. Personally, I think Forlan would qualify as a marquee signing and is better value than Ronaldinho and Beckham on and off the pitch. Hopefully Belaji will have a look at him.

I would love Forlán here, but we'd still need a midfielder who could get him the ball on a regular basis. :tu:

Forlan is class, there is no disputing his goal scoring stats in Spain, however he never really settled at Man Utd, and he is another one approaching the latter days of his career. Would be another massive gamble at £100,000 a week. How much are Atletico asking for him just out of interest?

Creative midfielder has to be the main priority.

He dosn't know just another negative comment to add to other post's on here i sometimes wonder if some are just hopeing we will fail?

I would agree with that with it being his first post and he comes out with that

There will be no more signings in this window.

I could'nt care less either way, adding too many players in a short space of time is'nt good anyway and January is a terrible time to try and find players.

We have put some steel in the centre of midfield AT LAST and have actually replaced Benni at last with a quality striker.

Ok they are only loan signings but they will safely keep us up for this season where we can really strengthen over the summer.

We have some good youth and plenty of experience we just need to add some creativity and we will be fine.

According to multiple twitter sources both in Argentina and France, we are very close to missing out on Formica, if our interest is that serious.

AS Monaco have offered £3.5m and as such are now the favourites.

I for one would be incredibly disappointed if we miss out on a player our manager appears to rate so highly for a paltry 4 or 5 million.
