Why would he prefer Rovers over Liverpool? I cant see it. Plus its too convenient to think we have been sitting back watching everyone slug it out and now we are going to ride in have an approach accepted, and sign him over the heads of the others. Cant see us making a real bid.

Interesting that we wanted a USA national team player (Dempsey) and signed a USA national team player (Jones).

Together with the fact that we wanted a South American player (Ronaldinho et al) and signed a South American player (Santa Cruz). Plus we are being linked with Brazilians and Argentinians.

Marketability? Or am I once again being uber-cynical?!

Jones is barely known in the US as far as I can tell, he's only recently started playing for the national team. I can't see any marketing potential in Demspey either.

As for the South Americans...there are plenty of world class South American scattered across the globe. Attracting the odd raw youngster is hardly going to have Buenos Aires swamped with Rovers shirts.

I think uber-cynical doesn't do it justice! There is only marketing potential in Asian players and David Beckham to be honest.

Definitely.

Whilst I'm pleased with the incomings and the players we've been linked with, it's clear that whilst Venky's intentions may be good, they are not yet adequate enough when it comes to efficiently doing deals in the transfer market.

For this reason I'm pleased they took over when they did, because the summer will be even more important, and if they muck up deals over the summer, it could hold us back for another season.

the might miss some experience, but i have a hunch, that they are trying, to go through this window without comitting, to paying transfer fees. Hence the term desai used, leasing players. This would also fit in nicely, with the formica deal, being done by an agency and thereafter being loaned ot to us.

i personally dont think, we will get anyone in on a permanent basis, unless its in the rochina level, when it comes to transferfee and salary.

Very disappointing from Charlie Adam.

He knows Blackpool have a great chance of staying up with him and a big chance of going down without. Why can't he just hold out until the summer?

Blackpool will be safe, he'll have less than a year to go on his contract, so the fee will be lower and wages higher.

And its morally the right thing to do.

When will there be a player who doesn't just think of himself

Why should he? He got them up, he has helped them to nearly 3/4 of the total points they need.

He may well also feel that if they get £5m+ for him - then they will be able to strengthen with 2 or 3 players...who will also help keep them up.

Dont blame him for wanting out - he is afterall playing for a premier league club with League 1 mentality & set-up. Whats up with wanting to take a big career step forward??

Put yourself in his shoes, he has the chance to go to a side that are guarenteed Premier League football (I still think Blackpool could easily go down) and a poor end to the season or an injury and his choices are far more limited. You only get one chance at life and he doesn't want to end up wasted at Blackpool. He's got ambition. Nothing wrong with that.

Adam may fancy Ewood, but Ewood doesn't fancy forking out £5m plus

Charlie wants to go to Liverpool. Nobody expected them to come in. Even Kenny Dalglish had his doubts - long story. When they did that moved the goalposts.

No point blaming anyone for that one slipping away.

Formica, though, is a different matter...he is already OWNED by an investor...THAT is the complication. THAT is why he was going to be sent to Red Star Belgrade and then 'leased' to Blackburn Rovers.

All of the Kentaro third party intrigue looks a bit daft when it was an existing third party situation that has cocked up the job.

The main complaint is that this should have been known in advance.

I have not decided yet whether all these Charlie Adams bids proves there is not much talent around at the moment.

A midfielder valued at 4 million being chased by Blackburn, Liverpool, Villa.

He should stay at Blackpool keep them up, then get his dream move to Liverpool where he will probably keep the bench nice and warm before moving back to Blackpool in a few years.

But we have put bids in for permanent transfers. Larsson at the very least.

perhaps i shoould have worded it better, but in the last part of my post i stated, that if we are going for permanent deals, its going to be in the rochina level and larsson fits in nicely there, certainly when it comes to a fee.

If thats the case, how has it been seemingly easy for Monaco to sort a deal? Why could BRFC not have done the same?

There must be more to it.

Given Kentaros 'contacts' this is a balls up.

It is probably easier to have 'third party' deals in France than it is in the Prem, especially post-Tevez.

You also have to consider that the Kentaro gang have got to be ultra careful in all of their dealings - particularly the first ones.

It's a 'live and learn' job but fortunately the team is playing well under the manager.

I will say it again. Steve Kean is easily the most impressive part of the whole new set-up.

Transfers are NOT an exact science.

Adam is an exceptional player. Not many people realised it. He has had a big month at the right time. Liverpool have a 'football' manager who just came into the job.

All of those factors have changed in the space of a few weeks. It's a pain. But it happens.

Adam HAS to go now. Liverpool won't wait for him. So it is now or never. It will be now.

It's like saying 'Sam shouldn't take the Burnley job because a Premier League job will come up.' You can't guarantee that and you can't legislate for it.

You take the move when it comes - you can't wait or it is gone.

I agree on both points. The more I see and hear Kean the more I like what he says and moreover how he says it.

Kean has let the transition from Sam to post-Sam take place as good as one could imagine. 3-1-3 record isnt great but during a season when most teams dont have that kind of record in their run of games, it has edged us higher up the table, closer to Europe than relegation. Lots of work to be done but its been a decent start for sure.

At the risk of sounding like one of the moaners is there any positive news of late regarding transfers Nicko? I believe if Samba pens a new deal then January will have been hugely successful for Rovers. I would still love to see Rochina brought in however, or any of the other targets we may have been linked with. Seems to have gone a little quiet lately as we're moving ever closer to the end of the window. Is there likely to be an exciting deadline day for us? Or is it still too early to tell?

Your not moaning Roverdale we'd all like to see great signings once again but there's no great rush. We already have the basis of a great team and if we sign in haste we will regret at leisure.

Decent? When did you last see Rovers play that much football in a game before yesterday? Remarkable turn-around. Better still considering the problems that come with a regime change. Out-piggin-standing.

One thing for sure we never played football like that under Allardyce.

We do have to be careful here though, summer sees Santa, Jones and MB Diouf return to their clubs, they have to be replaced or signed permanently, well at least Jones and Santa Cruz, I think MB Diouf would still be a good option but we could lose him without having a massive impact on the team/squad.

Then we do need a CMidfielder who can pick a pass and open things up, pehaps a left back and then we should be in decent shape as a squad with a bit of balance there too.

We then could shift a bit more deadwood and the squad gets a greater depth of quality.
