[Archived] Transfer Window Part 5

Recommended Posts

Ive got some family who are birmingham season ticket holders and they would be glad to see the back of him. they told me, he never takes on players. rarely gets into the games apart when he takes free kicks and corners and is pretty bad going foward and defensivley. much rather have dale jennings from tranmere. very good prospect.

Bitter much?

Larsson is their biggest threat in terms of being able to cross the ball. Bentley can't take players on either btw and neither could Beckham. Larsson is a bargain at £500k. His problem is he wanted to move the season they went down and he hasn't got his head completely back into it for them. Moving to us will bring him along and he is still young.

http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/4720/8/barcelona-midfielder-shock-target-blackburn?

Blackburn are poised to make a move for Barcelona's Victor Vazquez.

Midfielder Vazquez, 24, has struggled to command a regular first-team place at the Nou Camp and is keen to get his career back on track.

Blackburn boss Steve Kean is keen to strengthen his squad and has money at his disposal.

Vazquez is hoping to secure a loan move to Ewood Park until the end of the season with Blackburn then having first option on making the move a permanent one during the summer.

Using normal logic, it sounds reasonable that the chances of Blackburn signing Vazquez are higher now that we are losing out to formica. Whether Talksport used that particular logic, and just wrote that piece of an article as a result remains unknown.

Personally, I would welcome him! Dunn played well yesterday, but we need an alternative

While that would be a rather decent signing, I have seen more substance in a cat fart than in that story.

I swear we are bing linked with just about everyone.

Nicko, of the players we have on loan do we have an option to buy already in place for any?

I don't think so. The pair are on massive wages. So that would take some negotiating if and when the time comes.

Better to look before you buy too. See what the verdict is on both at the end of the season.

Blimey he has three good games suddenly we are talking about him moving to a bigger club, thats 5 years of developemnt for you.

Tonight Matthew I'm going to be Southampton Football Club.

If others see the potential we see, you never know in a crazy transfer january window. though I hope not.

Nicko, do you know if there's any chance at all that we will put in a bid to hijack Adam, while Liverpool are just fooling around? A relativly high bid with good wages, that wouldnt be so unrealistic in my eyes. Liverpool never seem to bid the right amount of money anyway, and while they wait we should make a move!

I think we were linked with him in the past. His Wiki says he joined Olympiakos on Friday, not sure how credible that is.

Yes, I think he has signed for Olympiakos, according to the the official Olympiakos site he is in the squad...

This tells me that SSN don't know what they're doing!

Nicko, is it really this quiet in transfer markets?

It's far from quiet. Adam thing noisy. Ba got done today although that was one to avoid. A lot of teams trying to buy players, but very few available - and a lot of clubs reluctant to sell.

When clubs as big as Everton can only afford a loan striker - if they could find one - you realise that economic factors are playing a part. But it will still be frantic in the last week.

I think that ship has sailed.

If it is any consolation [to me] a very good player is being chased by a top club. Must have been a talent after all.

nicko,

You hear anything about Ivan Perisic (Club Brugge) coming to England?

Apparently Fulham put an offer in. Everton, West Ham and Napoli also chasing.

Everton only have dough for a loan striker. West Ham are about to sign a right winger. No idea on Fulham, but they seem well stocked in midfield right now. Not as close to Napoli as I used to be [ ].

Thing is, it may be noisy elsewhere but on the Rovers front, after all the talk and speculation, it would appear to be quiet. Now it might be like swans - all calm and serene on the surface but loads of activity going on just beneath, but there's only a week to go and we haven't got any of the supposed targets on a permanaent deal. We all know we could still do with another player or two. The manager seems to acknowledge it too but so far we don't seem to be doing anything about the gaps in our team. Hence why we feel it's a slow and quiet window. We're not the only ones, I know, but I think the build-up has made it harder to take

Charlie wants to go to Liverpool. Nobody expected them to come in. Even Kenny Dalglish had his doubts - long story. When they did that moved the goalposts.

No point blaming anyone for that one slipping away.

Formica, though, is a different matter...he is already OWNED by an investor...THAT is the complication. THAT is why he was going to be sent to Red Star Belgrade and then 'leased' to Blackburn Rovers.

All of the Kentaro third party intrigue looks a bit daft when it was an existing third party situation that has cocked up the job.

The main complaint is that this should have been known in advance.

Nicko; I am sure I am not alone in not fully understanding all this 3rd party ownership nonsense, so if you could perhaps explain it in nice simple terms for the likes of myself ? For instance: Is it just the EPL that forbids this 3rd party ownership stuff, or do other leagues and/or associations have the same rules?
