You have a personal issue with him. Fine. To write off his achievements is ridiculous.

He talks himself up there with the likes of jose m but has a tiny fraction of achievement and is constantly trying to mediate himself. He really hasn't done that much

All supporters like to see new faces in order to freshen things up and improve the team.

I think Rovers need to be very careful over the remainder of the window and only sign a player, or players, who are 'too good to miss' and might not be available in the summer.

Our league position has taken a lot of pressure off. What does worry me is our financial position going forward. Our squad for a club our size is too big and we are carrying far too much 'deadwood' which we desperately need to offload.

Even if Venkys, going forward, release monies to fund permanent transfer fees, unless our revenue streams increase substantially, I honestly don't know how we will fund an ever increasing wage bill with new deals muted for at least four or five existing players before anyone even comes in !

Even Larsson's wages are speculated to be £40k+ per week and he would not be coming in as an automatic choice who was going to make a great difference.

I don't think anyone would dispute that we need (not necessarily this window), as priority, a right back, a creative midfield player and at least two strikers (after the season, as things stand, we will be left with Niko, Blackman and an option on Benjani !).

Some very shrewd and skillful management needed from Messers Kean, Williams (hopefully) and our new owners.

A rough translation..

Roniel on Sunday traveled to England, where it will undergo tests and evaluations in Blackburn, Premier League club. Since the close of transfer window in the next 31 days, the future of the attacker must already be set this week. According to Sá Renato Neto, a lawyer who looks after the interests of the player, the trend is that the English club to make an offer to purchase the center forward. Roniel was part of the under-17 world championship, won in 2007 and 2008. - The club had been following him in these championships base. When they learned that he left Turkey, contacted us and St. Paul did not oppose - told Lancenet!. The striker was on loan to Karsiyaka, Turkey's second division, but left the club earlier this year because of wage arrears. Since then, started to train in the CFA of an urban, with the desire to be integrated to the professional. That did not happen. - The club did not comment on that. But if St. Paul does not want it for a test technician and a first division team in England or something has to be revised in Sao Paulo. If Roniel has a good concept is out there because he left some good impression over there - the representative of the complete player, who has a contract until 2013 with Sampa.

Thank God for translator programmes. It show we have gone up in the World. We are being linked with everone even though a lot of it is speculation or just utter rubbish.

Latest is that Rovers have landed Ronieli, a Top Notch Brazilian striker who is on a plane set for Manchester.......The São Paulo starlet is an Under 19 International for Brazil and is highly regarding in Brazil......he was so hot that he was selected for the São Paulo squad at 16!.......Models his game on Hulk and is a very mature and skillfull, confidente young player........just returned from a Loan spell in Turkey where he was sent out to get a bit of expereince......

That Robbo story reared it's ugly head 6 months ago and was laughed off. I'm sure the same will happen again. IF NOT, they better have deep pockets because I'm sure we would want 3 times what we paid for him. What is it with Redknapp signing back players? He gets praised for what he's done at Tottenham but he's spent A LOT of money and wasted a lot money! As he did at Portsmouth and bankrupted them, such an annoying bloke. Who next? David James?! I think that would be realistic... Jesus.

Everton only have dough for a loan striker. West Ham are about to sign a right winger. No idea on Fulham, but they seem well stocked in midfield right now. Not as close to Napoli as I used to be [ ].

Maybe I'm missing something here. Everton can "only" get a striker on loan as they don't have enough "dough" . In Rovers' case the loans are a tactical master stroke. In an earlier post Nicko tells us " Better to look before you buy too"

So, are we getting people on loan because it's a great idea, is it because it's the only way we can get hold of them or is it because we don't have enough money ? ( No implied criticism of our owners).

Robbo has his head screwed on too tightly to want to go back there.

I've flagged speculation I've heard about Robinson on two occasions over the last couple of weeks and Rovers simply can't afford to lose Robbo as his importance to us is like that of Samba. I sincerely hope that nothing comes of it but I think Arsenal are the ones to watch here and wouldn't even rule out Man. U..

If Spuds do come in, our valuation given what they think Pav., Keane & Kran are worth must be at least £20m!!!!

Flying In!

Portuguese sources suggesting he's over here for a 10 day trial... Sounds very exciting. I personally hope we can bring in Rochina, Vazquez and now this lad- whatever the thoughts on Venky's, bringing in talented youth (with the late-Trust's beloved 'potential resale value') to blend into an experienced team reinforced with quality loans sounds a very good business plan to me- and exciting times ahead for Rovers!

It must be coincidence that we are due to be playing spurs in our next league game.

Same thing happens every time we play either Spurs or Arsenal - a story leaks that they may deem that one of our players could be good enough to play them.

Bunn has stepped in and looked more than capable. If Robinson wants to leave I wouldn't stand in his way, assuming we get value for money for him.

No way. I think Robbo is happy here and isn't going to ask for a transfer anytime soon. It would have to be silly money.

I admit, I had my doubts about Robbo, and he was a flapper when he first came here and let it some sloppy goals. But I think he's really benefited from playing in a settled side, away from the undue pressure of the Tottenham and England fold.

He's one of the PL best goalkeepers at this time, and Tottenham would have to pay through the nose to get him back. But I have a feeling this will be a nothing story.

I interpreted Exiled comments were made in the assumption that Robbo actually expressed a desire to return to Spuds.

Which I cannot see-- the timing of this story now jibes w/ the news that Robbo wanted a 'lifetime Rovers deal around the time Kean returned from his first trip to India....... no?

I really despise how Arry does his business..... really deep hatred for that cynic ba*tard. i hope we really give them a good thrashing.

That's my view as well. It's taken a while for him to find his feet but I can't deny he's playing at the top of his form now.
