Ah, now I know why Robinson is in Garth Crook's team of the week (when Hoilett didn't warrant even a mention).

Looks like Spurs are serious about going for Robbo.

Now here is a serious question- there would have been rioting in the streets if Tim Flowers had been sold to prevent Shay Given leaving Rovers but in retrospect that was probably a wrong call. Is Frank Fielding in the same category now as Given was then? (and I know there is no sign of a move coming in for Fielding).

If Robbo leaves, then come home Shay Given. But, Spurs can (Please don't use that word again) off. They a joke of a club, who destroy careers only to want them, back when things go well. I think Robbo is more than happy here, and will want to be part of the revolution :)

I don't think the Robbo would want to go back to spuds! think he is pleased by the plans the owners and SK have got for the club. Since he came to rovers, he has improve alot and is the best English goalkeeper in the league and in the top 3 keepers in the PL. Rovers bought him at a time when he was in the dumps at spuds, and he seems to be a guy who would want to repay what rovers did and the faith the club and fans have shown him.

I agree Chaddy - he seems extremely settled, has built his confidence up agin and is enjoying his football at Ewood - he has actually come out and said so in the past. He also has a really good relationship with bobby and trusts and respects him and the coachign he gives him. He would be daft to leave Ewood and the way he has handled the England debacle, makes me want to believe that he would be big enough to say no, I`m a Rover until I retire :glare:

Actually he said just this morning on Talksport how much he was enjoying playing at the moment.

Cue dodgy Arry on Sky "Yer, he's a great keeper. Apples & Pears. Anyone would want him. Mince Pies. But he's under contract so we can't have him. Can we?"

I absolutely loathe Spurs and I loathe Redknapp. I would love it, just love it, if Robbo turned round and told them to eff off

The other thing going for us here is that Robbo lives in the York area close to family and his wife is also a Yorkshire lass. Think it might need to be something special to drag him away - not sure that he'd think Spuds 'special enough'.

Whilst I think he is loving playing here if there was one club who could persuade him to leave, it would be Spurs - there is a special affinity between him and the club/fans, plus he may feel he has unfinished business there.

Losing him would be a massive blow as he has been sensational recently - think he is one of the 6/7 being offered a new contract so should put any rumours to bed.

We had these Spurs rumours back in 2009.

I will say it again. Steve Kean is easily the most impressive part of the whole new set-up.

And as it stands it will be Coyle who is referred to as the 'New Keano' ;)

Let's not get carried away.

Lets go to over to our BRFCS reporter at the Breezeblock Stadium......

"Thanks Cruz. Well I can safely say that earlier reports claiming that Owen Coyle is the new Steve Kean are greatly exaggerated. Coyle's men have been totally outclassed here tonight by a previously off form Chelsea side. Coyle has a lot to live up to if he is to be spoken about in the same breath as the Rovers manager. Bolton Nil, Chelsea 4."

As there is speculation regarding Tottenham chasing after our players, let's turn the tables! Does no-one else think that Giovanni Dos Santos would be a good signing for Rovers? He had an excellent world cup for Mexico, plays just behind the strikers, skill, pace and he's young. Doesn't get a sniff at Tottenham. Would excellent in midfield with Junior and Olsson.

Dos Santos would be great for us - fast and skillful - perfect with the young guns.

Don't be fooled by world cup performances. Dos Santos was decent whilst on loan at Ipswich, but has done nothing since.

I'd play Junior and Olsson above him anyday.

What i'm trying to say is... He could be the creative midfielder we have been looking for. Attacking mid is one of his best positions so he wouldn't be competing with Junior and Olsson. As far as having done nothing since, he hasn't had the chance! We could MAYBE get him on cheap but you know Redknapp. He would fit right into Steve Kean's vision i would say. Anyway, just throwing that one out there.

Still worth a punt for a small fee. QPR paid £500K for Taraabt, I reckon £1.5m should be enough for dos Santos. He's still young and quite clearly has potential, as well as potential re-sale value.
