BuckyRover Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 I think Robinson is quite a bit better than Given. I would be happy with a cheeky bid for dos Santos.

greco Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 dos santos would be worth a shot. he does seem like a player, who really needs to be nurtured to perform, the type who has to feel important and im sure our club could offer such an enviroment. i imagine he would be rather cheap. Still young, so he could mature into a much better footbsller. But its not going to happen, at the football graveyard, aka spurs.
JAL Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 If Rovers sell any of their best players it would only show up Venky's and Kean's capability of taking the club forward and would seriously damage the fans confidence in them in being a progressive, positive, ambitious club. So with that would Venky's really sell our best assets and think we'd still believe in them, dont think so unless they are really desperate for some money.

Jack Walker certainly showed a lack of ambition when he sold Shearer and Sutton
Kelbo Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Jack Walker certainly showed a lack of ambition when he sold Shearer and Sutton I think you really need to think about that one, Jack did everything to keep Shearer, lifetime joib, playe4r coach and future manager, the lot, couldnt do anything about that one.

JAL Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Jack Walker certainly showed a lack of ambition when he sold Shearer and Sutton Which team do you really support Bucky ?
BuckyRover Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Jal always says silly things. Like if we sell a player it shows a lack of ambition. What if the player throws a wobbly and refuses to play? Is that a lack if ambition? Obviously not. Everything has to be taken in context
texasrover Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Always rated dos santos. Mentioned him several times before that we should look at him. He can't have long left on his current contract at spurs, as he signed there in 2008, so a cheap bid would be a great idea
braddock Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 If our big players go then they go. They certainly won't be pushed out. There's always a bigger club and if a player isn't happy they get their way more often than not these days. This post ensures we can stop talking about that now. So, what factual things are happening?
cruz Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 I think you really need to think about that one, Jack did everything to keep Shearer, lifetime joib, playe4r coach and future manager, the lot, couldnt do anything about that one. So, for example, how would Venkys offering Samba a big payrise, only for him to turn it down and still demand to leave, be any different?

Is that a lack if ambition? Obviously not. Everything has to be taken in context We can all chill out on this robbo to spurs. Not happening. Not so long ago he was interested in a life time deal at Rovers. I believe Robbo is happy at Rovers - but money does talk. For Rovers to even consider Robbbo leaving it would have to be a very high fee.
Neal Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Dos Santos has been linked before in the summer by the looks of things, wouldn't of worked under that regime i don't think. Been linked with a loan move to Italy in the past few days by Nicko's paper, not his article though. Maybe a million, rising to 1.5 depending on appearances? That would be decent, i'd prefer that to Larsson. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Tottenham-s-Giovanni-Dos-Santos-nears-Sampdoria-loan-article678283.html
Blue n White Rover Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Brett Ormerod has allegedly said that Adam is on his way to Liverpool with a 40k a week pay rise... So he'll be on roughly 45k a week? Not bad.
92er Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Ah, now I know why Robinson is in Garth Crook's team of the week (when Hoilett didn't warrant even a mention). Looks like Spurs are serious about going for Robbo. Now here is a serious question- there would have been rioting in the streets if Tim Flowers had been sold to prevent Shay Given leaving Rovers but in retrospect that was probably a wrong call. Is Frank Fielding in the same category now as Given was then? (and I know there is no sign of a move coming in for Fielding). No. It might be different in the future.

Hekla Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 I presume the Brazilian guy will be signing on a permanent deal then?

duffbear Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 According to Wiki the next Pele or Ronaldo! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronieli_Gomes_dos_Santos
Oklahoma Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Only the stats: He played 9 games, 559 minutes and scored 1 goal in his turkish club
