I'd much rather have Robinson in goal than Hart. I can only assume you aren't counting Robinson as a keeper that 'England has', because he is a much better keeper all-round than Hart at the moment. Hart may well one day be an excellent keeper, but for now, Robinson wins hands down.

Well didnt robbo retired from the international stage, so yes by default Hart is the best england has.

Heard anything about whether Samba is going to sign his bumper contract?

There were discussions yesterday. It seems to be moving the right way. Villa could not reach £10 million for him and the player-swap idea is always complicated.

The big chap clearly needs more money. The price of petrol must be hurting him with his 20-odd cars.

Problem is being a good goalkeeper is something you have naturally (good hand eye, reflexes ext ext) being a great goalkeeper relys hevily on confidence and mental toughness. Hart is by far the best keeper England has at the moment all he needs is a clean sheet or two to rebiuld his confidence.

Quite right on the physical attributes however mental toughness and application come with experience in most. Hence why I think Hart will be a top keeper but at the moment Robinson pips him.

I can only see England's best keeper leaving Rovers for Dirty Leeds (his club), but that is only in the event that they get back in the top tier.

He was a Hull fan growing up, and I think all his family are Hull fans. He could end up there in his late 30's maybe.

Cheers for the update.

You would have thought one car is enough to get caught speeding in.

I honestly don't get that. 24 years old with a handful games for Barca, I think that says enough.

I do.

He is free in the summer and will sign for whoever he wants and will receive money just for that.

If it was now, he would have to ask Barcelona to release him for nothing.

There is nothing in the Paul Robinson and Spurs story. Sorry to disappoint the mutiny moaners brigade.

Brilliant work by unleaded on the Brazilian kid. Just glad he doesn't work for the papers...

The lad seems to be coming, the only mystery being how he gets a permit - must have a European passport.

How did Denilson get a permit when Arsenal signed him? Are there different rules if you put the player in the Academy first?

I thought there was a possibility to bring in players of 'exceptional talent' or something along those lines, but I might have been dreaming.

Which they could do this year, however, they have a decent younger keeper in young Schmeichael, would they want to lose him??

That is one way round it. If so, Rovers should start telling the world how good he is. Might make their case easier.

It's true it does work, I remember at my last job we thought Yip Yang Wang was not going to be able to be our full time janitor, but when we sent out out proof/pictures of what an exceptional job he did of our toilets, it really helped our case for a work permit.

He was an exceptional talent for sure.

R.I.P Yip Yang Wang, you are missed

I think deep down, we all know there's nothing in the Paul Robinson story. Utter rubbish to think he'd return to Spurs.

Although I don't think there's actually anything in the most recent link, I don't think it's utter rubbish to believe that he'd potentially go back there.

He clearly thinks a lot of the club and fans there - he's gone on record many times since being at Ewood to state this - and they'd be stupid to prefer Gomes over Robbo.

I think, were he to leave, the only club (outside of the big boys) he's consider joining at this stage of his career would be Spurs.

Would think Barca have made their minds up already on him, seeing as he is 24 and have hardly played. Why not go play for us now (6 month loan deal) and see if he can hack it at this level? If he performs like nobody's business then surely Barca would offer him a new deal.

well said the line about robo nicko keeps them misery gang off here

Love it!!!

Look guys I don't know whether or not I qualify as one of the misery gang but I really do just wish posters like you would knock it off. If anybody posts anything that doesn't agree with your agenda you post ridicule. If you are intent on hounding naysayers off the board then you're going to be left with a pretty empty discussion space. We don't all have to agree that everything is rosey. In fact we don't all have to agree on anything at all, that's the point isn't it!? Just shut up and allow people to state what they think and not what you want to hear. I'm very successful in business because of one thing - I employ dogs not nodding dogs. I for one will continue to say what I feel so STFU (respectfully).

Not necessarily. Especially if we may be signing them in the Summer.

Nothing wrong with try before you buy.

Try before you buy is fine, as long as you have first choice on the player when the loan spell is over. I'm not too bothered about the fact their value may go up because that's the calculated risk with the strategy. Some will be good enough, some won't and the extra money you pay for the ones that are good enough is offset by the money you've saved by not buying the players that aren't.

Like I said before we signed Roque though, I would have taken the permanent deal. Solely because if he stays fit, and performs like we know he can do then 3 million is a steal. And I just fear that City would want a fair whack more if he does.

The fact he is still at Barca at that age suggests he does have plenty of talent….either than or he has something over the president there! lol
