Shall watch the FA Cup games with interest on Saturday/Sunday/Wednesday. Always good to see which players are not being played to avoid them being cup tied. Has anybody got a list of key players who didn't play during the last round??

I'll start the list off

SAMBA (watching this one with particular interest especially against villa!!!)

Roonie (probably a long shot LOL)

Warnock (Has anybody shown an interest in him-how can you fall from grace so quickly???)

Wright Phillips (shame we have filled our u.k loan quota guess also explains why never showed interest in Bentley on loan).

just a guess ,, but taking into account that it says his current club is Darwen F.C ... It might be a little bit incorrect

That's funny, unless my eyesight isn't what it used to be, it said Blackburn Rovers when I first saw it.

It may just be me but I just don't see what all the fuss is about Kranjcar

Per ESPN, for the 2010/2011 season in all competitions Kranjcar has 7 starts and 6 substitions, scoring 4 goals and 1 assist with a total of 11 shots. Last season it was 33 starts (all competitions) and 8 substitutions, scoring 10 and 7 assists with 82 shots.

He's played in the PL since 2006/2007 season, is a regular for his national team and has Champions Leaue and World Cup football on his resume. He's within a year of Adam but has achieved far more within that time, in my opinion.

Alegedly Liverpool are interested. http://www.givemefootball.com/premier-league/liverpool-transfer-target-well-regarded-around-the

Did you see this bit below, I spat my brew when I read it.

On the unday he flew over to join Darwen F.C he was heard to say on his mobile phone device that "I hate Burnley and cant wait to kick harry Redknapp in the face the saggy faced git."

I personally like what I see of Charlie Adam. He's a decent, strong minded footballer. But I don't think he's worth 5 million to anyone, except Blackpool, let alone the 14 million demanded by Halloway. For 5 million I'd rather have Kranjcar. He's less expensive, his owners will put up less of a fuss to the transfer, he's of comparable age and comparable goal scoring (and does it without the team being built around him), has a proven pedigree as opposed to Adam's comparatively recent renaissance, and, in my opinion, is more creative. Finally, he's a member of the Croation national team, familiar with Kalinic and would doubtless partner well with our young Croat. In short, he'll improve the team and may improve the performance of others on our team, increasing the anticipated dividend. So to the extent that one fan's opinion can influence Venkys' writing checks, please Balaji, open your checkbook. We would have a real shot at 6th with someone of his caliber in the squad.

Point taken. Only thing is that Adam is settled in the North, while Kranjcar might not want to move up here.

Oyston is not exactly renowned for being flexible and that is an understatement.

I should imagine Holloway is a stubborn old mule when he wants to be.

Blackpool are looking at missing out on £25m minimum even with the new parachute payments if they see Adam as the difference between staying up and going down this season. And with 28 points, they probably only need 4 wins in their last 16 games to achieve survival and Adam on his own is capable of getting one or two of those wins. On that basis they are not joking when they tell Liverpool to stick a 1 in front of their transfer bid number.

Fascinating stand-off and as we are at deadline day -6, Adam needed to be at this stage a couple of weeks ago as time is definitely not on his side.

Anyway it seems Liverpool have just as big a headache with Ajax and Suarez (and Babel has gone) so Adam might not even be their highest priority.

Just want to say that many have been bashing you lately, but this is a very sensible post that pretty much hits the nail on the head.

On his current showing of course. Nothing to say he won't improve in time. Unless opinions aren't allowed :glare:

If it's any consolation I agree with you. He will have to improve a lot to convince me.

Charlie Adam with craking play. Lovely corner from Adam on the goal and his pass was given to corner aswell.

Also smacked Evra in the face with his shoulder in a situation before the pass through to the attacker. with Evra out on the sideline, Rooney(!!!!) headed to corner.
