You cant hold a player back either, he wants to better himself as a player by playing for a top team. Tough on Blackpool, we have been in that position before, and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. Loyalty doesnt exist much in football these days, so you cant expect players to stay if they dont want to.

You can praise Holloway all you like, but fact is that he is disrespecting the rest of the Blackpool players. He is focussing so much on Charlie Adam, but that entire team deserves as much credit for the way they have approached games this season. Adam is 1 player, he makes the team tick, but he certainly doesnt carry the team. I have watched quite a bit of Blackpool's game, and imo Adam is a drifter, who does something special, then disappears. Gamst is another one, goes and does something good, then for long periods will not do anything.

Every time I’ve seen Blackpool play Adam has been key to their success , maybe I’ve not seen them as much as you, but taking him out of that team will have a negative impact that’s for sure.

Whilst I agree you SHOULDN’T hold a player back, the guy is under contract and so in this case Blackpool are doing the right thing.

He needs to sit tight until the summer, and pay Blackpool back for the faith they’ve shown in him, then he’ll get his move away.

Players under 24 go to tribunal, so you have to pay for them anyway. Out of contract or not.

Fro the European Court of Justice decision regarding young players:

"The court's decision, which applies to players aged 16-22, will ensure that clubs are adequately compensated for their investment in training youngsters and should help prevent disputes like the Bernard case from arising again. "

I think too much emphasis are being placed on Adam, when the entire Blackpool team should be praised by Holloway. in fact, he should have said that non of his players are for sale, and slapped big money on all of them. Its tough on teams like Blackpool, Rovers, Wolves, Wigan etc, because its bound to happen that a bigger team will poach one of your better or best player/s. Its just hard luck, thats how it goes, you move on and make do with what you have. If we could survive all these years, then im sure Blackpool can do that if they stick together if/when/should Adam leave.

Agree Gav. Plus IMO IH isn't holding Adam back. He has said pretty much he can go in Summer once Blackpool are safe and he can have more time to find a replacment. His job is to do what's best for Blackpool not what's best for CA.

Don't see how he is disrespecting the rest of the Blackpool team? He is not going to come out and say it's not CA that has got us to where we are, it's the whole team so CA isn't worth half of what we want but please do come and look at other players we've got. He's goping to big Adam up as much as possible to get as much cash as possible. Behind the scenes will be completely different I imagine.

ooops, didn;t copy Gav's post!!

Gav, why didnt blackpool show him loyalty and pay the bonus's he was owed? Why did he have to take them to court to get them?

He owes them nothing and if it wasnt for his form they would be poking around mid table of the championship.

There's a difference between whether he owes them something and Holloway not wanting him to go.

Adam doesn't owe them anything and he's got a right to want to push a move through, but Holloway is well within his rights to protect his best player. He is worth however much money he thinks to Blackpool. No matter how much money they get for him they won't be able to replace him. Who, of similar quality, could they convince to go to Blackpool? No matter how much money they could offer. My guess is nobody.

And if he's that good, are you saying no other club will make a move for him? I think this is the right move as if we were to wait until summer, he could move elsewhere.

That was my thought about Rochina. If he's available for nothing in the summer then surely we'd have some competition.

Not sure, I'd only ever heard that he moved for free. Apologies if I heard wrong.

They did pay him, and to say he owes them nothing is short sighted.

The media misreported the whole saga. Just to clear some things up;

Adam wasn't the only player due this bonus, there were a few Blackpool players due the bonus, he was there as captain representing them all.

The bonus should have been paid as soon as Blackpool were mathematically safe. Oyston told them they'd get it at the end of the season, then tried to pull a fast one.

Adam NEVER asked and NEVER intended to have his contract terminated. He was there out of moral, and nothing more.

I don't think this has ANY impact on him asking to leave, and the other misconception being thrown around is that Rangers discarded him; they literally were so skint they had to cash in, even at a paltry £500k. They would have got more from another club, but Adam digger his heels in to move to Blackpool.

No, I'm saying we can sign him on a pre-contract. Which is a contract (fairly sure it's binding) that kicks in when his Barca one runs out and obliges him to sign with us at that time. This can only be done with teams from foreign countries (ie us).

Regarding tribunal compensation...not sure what all the legalities are, but I've read in some cases the compensation has been for 'training costs' etc, which you wouldn't expect to rise past the million Barca want. And if (this part being entirely supposition) Barca are asking for any kind of sell-on, you'd expect it'd be better to go with the tribunal ruling in that case. Still, I guess those involved know the details best and should be trusted with it. Just seems odd from outside.

EHD: ... according to some sources ....... Kayserispor have tabled a bid for Blackburn star ? ...... anyone got a figure or if even true ..... Nicko?.

If it is true I hope this paves the way for us to move for at least one other player, Vazquez? Formica? still not signed for Monaco, Kranjcar? not linked but seems a popular alternative.

Adam is/was a Rovers target, so its in the right place.

WAS being the operative word, so it's not. Besides the rights and wrongs of Blackpool's non sale of him so far are definitely nothing to do with us as, as far as we know, we've never tested their will to keep him.

"he is player who not only scores goals, but creates a lot of goals as well."

Diouf thinks he is a lot lot better then he is, and evidently so does his agent.

If this were true we would be asking for a fee around 8 million.

Great plan, if we can get the cash. Which we wouldn't.

E Diouf has been one of our best players this season,he is fully commited has an excellent first touch and doesn't panic on the ball, with Olsson and Hoilett playing so well maybe he wouldn't start too many games but who better to put on to preserve leads and win the vital free kicks.

Today's edition of newspaper A Bola has the following article:

http://www.abola.pt/....aspx?id=244099

It seems there is more about it in the printed version of the newspaper.

As many have already said on here, there's very little value in the market during January - Charlie Adam at 12M a casing point! If we did go for someone, I'd like us to move for Kranjaer, but that doesn't seem to be on Kean's mind.

So, perhaps this Vukcevic guy would be a good option to get on loan for the rest of the season if Sporting want rid. Maybe agree a fee too for the summer, just in case he's mustard.

As for other speculation, it looks like we'll possibly get Rochina, maybe Ronieli. Vazquez is waiting on Barcelona, so that leaves Kean waiting... Formica - Who knows whats going on there!? Larsson staying put it seems until the summer... All in all, a deal for another impact/ established player for this window is proving very difficult, mainly because of inflated values!

Personally, if we could get a Kranjaer, Vukcevic or Vazquez in - then great. Then, maybe get Warnock back in (does anyone know how much Villa owes us on the original deal???) and young Nathaniel Clyne of Crystal Palace (someone I rate highly and could develop wonderfully under Salgado) and we'd have a very strong squad. The deals for the youngster strikers are then a bonus.

There's a few days left so who knows... We could all be set for an exciting last few days.....(or not!)
