LessThanJake Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Villa's local reporter also thinks the larsson/Davies deal is on. Good avoid for Rovers on both counts

Torgeir Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Larsson on a free is a useful addition. Hoilett looks able to play on both wings anyway so bringing him in won't necessarily hamper his Junior's development. £5m for Kranjcar is worth a punt surely? Time for Kean to make another trip to Pune eh?
Billy Castell Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Where does this feeder club talk originate from? An article? or just the fact that we are linked with two Barcelona youngsters? Just curious that's all If I can add something to that, I am certain that Kean and Jensen's multilingual capacity makes such a deal much easier to arrange. It is something that two previous posters said they heard about a few pages ag. It could be two people cooking up nonsense to get people going. And good point about linguistics.
BangkokRover Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Of course its complete nonsense. I am sure the same people who thought we stood a chance of signing Ronaldinho will think this will happen.
vintageadidas Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Larsson is a decent player and I would welcome him to our squad! You cannot judge a player on one game and there are factors maybe influencing his performance tonight! Imagine if someone watched the Chelsea game and looked at Kalinic - they would have thought we dragged someone off the street who couldn't play football! Awful awful performance!
nicknj72 Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Davies did seem like a very promising player at one point, but he has really disappeared. He may be a late developer like Gary Cahill but he could also be a minor Marlon Broomes. As for the talk of Barcelona having us as a feeder club, it may be benefitial if the following things are in place: 1. They loan us some decent yougsters, or squad players that don't quite make it as a regular starter. 2. We can get above players for a good fee, and/or we have a 'favoured trader' status. 3. They don't lob us a load of dobbins they just want off their books. 4. Closer ties with our youth set-ups, i.e. coaching, tournaments..... However, Inter Milan had Charlton as a feeder club, and that seemed to come to mothing. Billy - where have you got it that Gary Cahill was a late developer? He was Villa reserve captain and then made it into their first team under O'Leary. He was subsequently sold when O'Neill wouldn't guarantee him a starting slot. Please explain as I'm mystified by that comment
Billy Castell Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 He seemed to be a squad player at best at Villa, a bit like Ian Pearce all those years ago. I admit I haven't paid too much attention to his career, but reserve team captain says a lot about his position at that stage. He could easily have bumbled around the lower end of the Premier League/1st division like Clarke Carlisle, but Bolton and their managers let him develop. He was never destined to play for England but he has become a good player.
Hughesy Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Interesting that Cryer also thinks link ups are likely in the podcast thingy!!
BangkokRover Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 This is the guy who works for a newspaper that runs a few days behind the national press. When the LET are supposed to be covering only ROVERS. As the take off proved the LET are completely out of touch, story broken by a nation paper and then a cut and paste from wiki rolled out as LET content

Guest roverspogges Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 That sounds good. Great fun reading the transfer window saga so far by the way, Jim mk2 with his epic trolling was a personal highlight.

Hughes apparently wants him and he's generally a good judge of talent. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Paul-Konchesky-Liverpool-nightmare-could-end-loan-move-back-former-club-Fulham-article682857.html Good news about Formica, if true.

Rovers went back in for the young star with an improved bid to snatch him from the jaws of French club Manoco Hope Rovers keep to their word and grab him............ Interesting.... earlier tonight I had heard on TYC sports from Rosario that Formica's European Passport has lapsed and would require sorting out......while the Monaco possibility has cooled, i'm a bit surprised Rovers have gone back @ him again. Sun says we're bidding 2 million for Vukcevic. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3373500/Blackburn-Rovers-are-ready-to-pay-2million-for-Simon-Vukcevic.html Is Paul Konchesky any decent as a LB? Konchesky was previously at Fulham and followed Woy up to Liverpool. Fulham's strong campaign and his good form made Liverpool take notice, it would be humourous if he was to move back to London after calling his Liverpool move a 'dream'. actually..... who'd be surprised????
USABlue Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 We've missed out on players because nobody wants to play for a manager they've never heard of. Sam is well known here and abroad and could have attracted the players we have missed out on. So if Sam had been here we would have got .........Ronaldinho??? You think? maybe?
trs Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Formicas possible transfer breakdown to Monaco http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/82/south-america/2011/01/26/2324946/report-financial-wranglings-hold-up-mauro-formicas-move-to
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 I don't rate Konchesky, no better than what we've already got. Ditto Davies and Larrson, let's hope Villa get lucky there.
callumrovers Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mauro_Formica "On 27 january 2011, Formica went to Blackburn, England, to sign a long term contract".
daveoftherovers Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Maybe if you didn't base your opinion upon one game it would be better. He no longer wants to be at the club, has handed in a transfer request and has no intention of signing a new deal. He is probably thinking if Birmingham aren't in the cup then I might get my move. Not saying that he is btw, but he is a far better player than he has displayed this season and yet he has the same amount of assists as the amazing MGP and only one less than the 14m Charlie Adam. The surprise on the assists list is Chris Brunt, he has 10! Modes, I'm not surprised by Brunt, he could always pick a pass (And a free kick / set piece) and does like to get forward, I thought he was WB's biggest threat to us on Sunday (Again)
ewoodpo Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mauro_Formica "On 27 january 2011, Formica went to Blackburn, England, to sign a long term contract". It also shows his current club as Monaco.
Guest linganzi Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 So the real reason for the village idiots value of Adam is he allegedly gets a cut? How common is this ?

Rovers went back in for the young star with an improved bid to snatch him from the jaws of French club Manoco Hope Rovers keep to their word and grab him............ Thanks unleaded....great news. Not sure who that French club is though?? Nicko - Vela set for Bolton Loan - One which I think we should be trying to sign As for Hollowhead allegedley having a cut of the Adam deal - surely illegal and a conflict of interests??
True Blue & White Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 So the real reason for the village idiots value of Adam is he allegedley gets a cut? How common is this ? Are people still upset by the fact Adam fell off our radar weeks ago? We're not signing him, we never even put a bid in for him, on February the 1st he'll be at a club ending in 'pool' and not 'burn'...get over it!
