brian nelsen Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Villa down to 10 men. Game on? You'd like to think so. Come OOOONN!!
Dunnfc Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Yes the young lad Nathan Baker is off for a foul. After Andrews had gone close with a header.
Backroom Tom Posted January 29, 2011 Backroom Posted January 29, 2011 I doubt it will matter too much we look toothless today really, hopefully we will look better on Wednesday with Jones back in CM. Also, remember Bolton!
RIML Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Villa fans booing Hoilett and shouting who are you, disgusting!
Presty On Tour Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 who was sent off? Nathan Barker, serious foul play. C'mon Rovers!
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Im not trying to start an argument or anything just passing on what im seeing... TBH professional footballers...id expect allot more. I know and my comment wasn't a slight towards you. I agree totally with you that our midfield is all over the place. I'm just sick of seeing him playing in central midfield when it clearly doesn't work. I want to see my team perform to the best of it's abilties and when i see him playing there more often than not it becomes a disadvantage to the team.
Backroom Tom Posted January 29, 2011 Backroom Posted January 29, 2011 Villa fans booing Hoilett and shouting who are you, disgusting! Because that's something we'd never do right?

Its frustrating i agree you can see why Jones has been brought in but the is gaps all over the pitch were the mids need to be more mobile and move! Hoilett getting booed because villa fans think he dived to get Baker off. Pires coming off i think for a centre half collins.
RIML Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Because that's something we'd never do right? They're booing every touch and it's totally different when we do it
philipl Posted January 29, 2011 Author Posted January 29, 2011 Grella for Andrews- let's see if Vince can get hold of this game.
Bobby G Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Inconsistent performances are a worry. Its something that Sam largely could not cure, and its going to be the key element that must be sorted at the club if we are to improve. When was the last time we went unbeaten for longer than 5-6 games (at most)? When was the last time we won 3 or more matches in a row? Its a huge problem.

I'd say it's also a problem with 90% of the league at the moment, anyone can beat anyone and theres not many teams on consistent runs of form.
modes98 Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 That is a pathetically bad substitution. 2 goals needed in the cup and you replace a DM with a DM.

Check the team lineout today and then re think. This is a cup game. Its not that important. This isnt a huge problem at all. If we lost to Wigan in the same fashion then you might have a point, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.

That is indicative of the PL now - the gulf in squads has become a lot closer now with teams like Sunderland spending 12 million on players
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 That is a pathetically bad substitution. 2 goals needed in the cup and you replace a DM with a DM. Not true. We've replaced a 'Welcome to the Blackburn Rovers defence, would you like a guided tour of Paul Robinson's goalnet?' sign, with a Defensive Midfielder.
philipl Posted January 29, 2011 Author Posted January 29, 2011 Been al Villa since they went down to 10 men. We are out.
