Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 We should put Rochina and Formica on the bench and bring them on with 20 minutes to go if we need to. Or if we're winning. Couldn't hurt. Then Den could write them both off. I had a weird feeling about this one. Without the benefit of hindsight I'd take a draw, a win would be very good though. I can't see either side keeping a clean sheet.

Blue blood Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Despite having a ticket and an appalling away record over the last few seasons I'm strangely optimistic about this one. I've a feeling this is the year Wigan finally don't pull it out of the bag, especially with West Ham's resurgence of late, and I'm struggling to remember their last good performance. In short it's a good time to play them, and we've been in decent form of late so it should be at least a point if not a win for us. Am not sure that loosing Williams will help the mood of the camp, but even so, hopefully we should have enough in us for the win. It's always a great atmosphere at Wigan, (from our support anyway) and a friendly hassle free away fixture that I always try to make. Looking forward to a good afternoon out. Come on the Rovers! 2-1 Rovers: Olsson and Roberts.
Backroom Tom Posted February 5, 2011 Backroom Posted February 5, 2011 We should put Rochina and Formica on the bench and bring them on with 20 minutes to go if we need to. Or if we're winning. A draw would be a decent result and I'd take it now and would leave us just 2 wins and 2 draws from safety. Wish I was going but working overtime is more important for me today.
cravenblue Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Just spoke to ticket office at wigan, game def on
Majiball Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Has Formica been named in the squad for today?
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Pretty sure he and Rochina are left out.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Robinson Salgado samba Nelson Pederson Jones Hoilett Dunn ollsen Formica Kalinic Pedersen at left back ? I'd rather see Andrews there !
92er Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Pretty sure he and Rochina are left out. For the next 2 to 3 weeks.
Pugg Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Should be an easy win for Steve Kean if hes got anything about him. Didn't you say a couple of pages back that this was far from an easy game? Sorry if I've got the wrong person.
Majiball Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Pretty sure he and Rochina are left out. I'm not to concerned about Rochina as I think he's more of one for the next few years. But I am chomping at the bit to see Formica For the next 2 to 3 weeks. I'd been hopeful that it would be a bit of a smokescreen and we'd see him on the bench.
Backroom Tom Posted February 5, 2011 Backroom Posted February 5, 2011 I'm sure one of them will make the bench against Newcastle they'll have had a couple of weeks training with the squad then. I'd like to see one today but maybe a wet windy Wigan isn't the best introduction to the English game, or maybe it is.
Roversi Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Robinson Salgado Nelsen Samba Olsson Emerton Jones Dunn Pedersen Holiett Kalinic
Rover & Out Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Kalinic has to start, either on his own or alongside Roberts....or with Formica just behind him Diouf always looks lively but just doesn't score enough goals for me.
Bobby G Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Kalinic not in the squad. Emo, MGP and Benjani in for Dunn, Andrews and Diouf.
brfc4ever Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 ROVERS: Robinson, Salgado, Samba ©, Nelsen, Olsson, Hoilett, Emerton, Jones, Pedersen, Benjani, Roberts. Subs: Bunn (GK), Dunn, Grella, Nzonzi, Andrews, Hanley, MB Diouf. Why is Kalinic not in the squad ?!?!?
Backroom Tom Posted February 5, 2011 Backroom Posted February 5, 2011 Hmmm so so line up, I presume Niko is injured but that front two is uninspiring. Also is there really a need for Nzonzi, Grella and Andrews all on the bench? Not too optimistic now I just can't see us scoring unless Hoilett does the business
Mr. E Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 ROVERS: Robinson, Salgado, Samba ©, Nelsen, Olsson, Hoilett, Emerton, Jones, Pedersen, Benjani, Roberts. Subs: Bunn (GK), Dunn, Grella, Nzonzi, Andrews, Hanley, MB Diouf. You have got to be kidding me. Why is Kalinic not in the squad ?!?!? You have got to be kidding me.
frosty Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I imagine Kalinic is injured then, if not then it's stupid. He needs a run of games. Would have had Mame Diouf upfront too. Oh well, come on Rovers.
G Somerset Rover Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 You have got to be kidding me. About time he started to be fair after his Liverpool performance. I'd prefer Kalinic to both of today's strikers, but he must be injured.
Guest linganzi Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 last start bejani had v lpool (unless he played the cup??) he played well i have no problem with that seems he cant settle on a sriking pair
Toodling Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 FFS why leave Kalenic out again? Doesnt say anything about him being injured on rovers site
Backroom Tom Posted February 5, 2011 Backroom Posted February 5, 2011 Weirdly it seems that on the Big screen at JJB it said Niko is playing but not accoriding to the Rovers site.
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I think there are reservations around all of our strikers. Im glad Andrews is out. No point in arguing over it because there clearly isnt an obvious first choice line up. Anyone could name a first 11 and i guaruntee somebody else would pick holes in it.
Roversi Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 In fairness to Benjani he scored 2 against Liverpool, then has played 10 mins in the last 3 games. he deserves this chance.
Dunnfc Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Kalinic and Mame is our best strikeforce whilst RSC is out... But maybe Keano thinks that Benjani is more suited to this game?
