[Archived] Transfer Window Part 6

Recommended Posts

Carroll story come from Newcastle...who are trying to start an auction. Wonder why? Tottenham have offered players so far, this 'leak' may be for their benefit rather than Liverpool. I know Liverpool like him but if they over-pay it leaves them with little 'profit' on a one-in-one-out basis.

Liverpool trying awful hard for Charlie Adam again. Could go as daft as £10 million by close of business. That one has to be watched.

Chelsea THINK they are getting four. Torres, Luiz and two others as yet unknown. Maybe McCarthy, possibly Aguero. Sturridge is at Bolton right now, so they HAVE to be bringing in one striker or maybe two. Their bench is very weak. They need players.

Don't Liverpool want Anelka as part of the Torres deal or is that a non-starter?

Segal is not with SEM...FFS.

I know he isn't, he's an aging action film star, but Bentley is an SEM client is he not?

Would be shocked if Chelsea let Amelka and Sturridge go on the same day. Solve one problem with Torres, create another by being a striker down. No sense in that.

Bentley is no with SEM. Like I said about a month ago.

Very interesting news from Jerome Anderson, will be good getting in a few players, after years of frustration :P

Probably just another of those blokes pretending they know something! :)

Maybe they are waiting for Formica, Rochina to sign and Samba to sign a new contract then hold press confrence announcing it all?

Maybe 2 out of 3 already done which sounds like it has from what Nicko was saying with Formica and Samba?

really doubt there will be a press conference today, wont it just wait til tomorrow til kean has the pre game press conference for the spurs game ??

Point me to one other Jerome Anderson deal this window that doesn't involve Rovers then .....

I think you need to take a good look at the full list of Kentaro clients before making such a sweeping statement. They have many players, lots of whom aren't in the big leagues who could, theoretically be going somewhere. To make my point imagine this scenario. . . out of the blue Notlob make a 3 million bid for Larsson. That meeting would also take place in Manchester. Before anyone tells me that isn't true I KNOW. . . but it makes my point.

We could offer them plenty. For example, a 6 month loan of the likes of Jeffren would give hime game time, build him up to level for Barca and probably be of benefit to Rovers. Loaning Barca's academy/fringe players would benefit Rovers by adding quality and would benefit Barca by giving players competitive, top level league game time, something they'd probably struggle to achieve at a young age in Barca.

In terms of his contract, I too have been suspecting this. However, looking at Barca's striker options, they have youth on their side with the likes of Pedro, Jeffren, Bojan, Messi etc. Villa is the only elderly striker really (and Ibra who will be leaving permanently at some point no doubt).

I don't see how a 6-month loan signing could really benefit some of Barcelona's fringe/academy players. The only way I could see Barcelona going for something like that is if the player was guaranteed 1st team football as part of the contract.

Yes Premiership football is a far better standard than Bareclona B football but would any such players be guaranteed to come over here and walk straight into the team?

Barcelona play a unique style of football and, other than Arsenal, I don't see any Premiership team that could offer development for a player in that sort of style. I'd argue that these fringe players would gain more from training on a daily basis with the likes of Xavi, Messi, Iniesta than being loaned out to a foreign country.

Why have they never loaned players like Bojan out, who has warmed the bench for nearly two years now, when there would inevitably have been interest in such a deal?

There has been a brief - but sensible - conversation about Diouf going to Birmingham and Larsson heading the other way.

I wouldn't be surprised if this fell down though. Too many agents.

Crikey, that would do me.

Doubt it would happen in a million years, though...

I'd have thought it would be easy seeing as Larsson is SEM and we'd know Diouf's agent through working with him. Wouldn't have though McLeish would want Diouf though...

I wish Liverpool, Chelsea and Torres would hurry up, the quicker that happens, the quicker the knock on effects will be!

100 per cent accurate. Both managers aware of the possibility. Just a bit messy. Possible if all parties willing to come and go slightly.

I find it strange that Birmingham would want a replacement for Larsson, I assumed that was the purpose of signing Bentley.

Still I think it's a deal that would benefit both clubs. Diouf is a good player to have a relegation scrap and can play a few different positions, whilst Larsson obviously wants to leave and gives us something we don't have.

I hope it comes off, but I'm expecting we'll only have our two loan signings by the time the window closes.

Ok my point was this….Jerome Anderson is working for Rovers at the moment (today) – whether he has done other deals or not this window, which I believe he hasn’t. His agency may well have, but from what seems obvious, he is working for Rovers pretty closely.

Larson swap for El Hadji?? Cracking deal....do they want Keith as another part of the deal too? It helps us sign a younger replacement, whilst getting a higher earner off the books who is very unlikely to play much more this season going off current selections.

Diouf can play a couple of roles, not just right wing.

Larsson is - as you say - already replaced by Bentley.

So it has a logic to it.

But this is not necessarily a day for logic.

Buy Diouf get Keith free, sounds like a good deal to me

That would make me laugh so much. Had so much stick about Dioufy from my Brum mate and just told him about this and I can't write what he sent back to me on here.

....

Stephen Warnock has been in talks with Wigan over last 24 hours. Very odd.

Maybe, Jerome meant it would be interesting for Wigan
