I can't mention the Newcastle signing. I imagine he will arrive about 10.55 and with his baseball cap pulled down over his head to avoid publicity. It is too bizarre.

Newcastle might not even announce it for fear of a backlash. Just slip him onto the training ground tomorrow.

By the way, for Conor Sammon fans, Derby County have sold Dean Moxey to Palace and are now competing with Wigan for his signature. Can you believe there is a fuss over a Kilmarnock striker? Strewth.

But Carrol is English and up to now you don't need a passport or internation clearance to leave Newcastle.
