[Archived] FM Team rebuilding

I am still playing FM 2010 yes I know 2011 is out but I bought 2010 ages ago and never really got my moneys worth from it. Now with the help of SparkysRovers I am going places. But I am not in charge of Hertha Berlin who have a massive stadium which holds 74220. The problem is they have no money and their team is a complete pile of junk. I am coming up to the transfer window I hope to make it through with out selling any of the players. Once the windows closes I would like to sell the players so that they leave at the end of the season this will leave me plenty of time to get in replacements. BUT I am wondering how this will affect the performance of the team for the rest of the season. I have only not see such a bunch of average players at team in the game before so I have never really had to rebuild the whole team from scratch.

Any advice for me?

Dont be worrying about how the team will perform until the end of the season, start worrying how the team will perform when you bring in a load of new players during the summer transfer window. Morale will be really low then and will take a while to get where you want to go. Sign one or two key players and start shipping out players you dont have any use for.

Yeah, bringing in lots of new players all at once brings team performance down. On the training menu, tick 'Team Blending' for a while after signing new players to help them bed in a bit.

You were all 100% correct the moral has bombed and now I have a problem where I can't register my team as I don't have enough players trained with with my team. I seem to have over looked that rule

So I will take a look at that tomorrow and see what I can do. As it seem the transfer window has also closed so not sure how I can get out of this hole.

If you have a good enough squad you could try to bring turd free agents in (that window stays open longer) to fill the gap for english players.

Also if you cant select a squad you can still go ahead in the competition, but dont pick every player. you will see when the warning symbol is removed from the selection area at the bottom

Does anyone know if the assistant manager take the players for training or its better to hire people as a coach to do that?

I managed to get past that screen by promoting a youth player. I will certainly have to look out for that rule next season.

Also players under the age of 21 dont have to be registered

Well I am about to start my last game of the season and I think I am going to be sacked I managed to finish 2nd in the league last season but as you guy predicted changing so many players caused lots of players to be unhappy. Hope I can stay one more season as the players at the club are excellent and all very young.

Ask for more time from the board. only works in your first season and usually gives you more time

My first season I came 2nd in the league to Schalke but then I brought in 14 new players. I did not know this was going to kill moral and I struggled the whole second season But I have just got a new contract for 2 years so tomorrow I will start my assault on the league title

No i don't but he is rather good. I think i will win the league this year as i have no European games.

As soon as a get a decent transfer budget he is usually my first purchase every save. He's an assist machine. Managed to sign him at the start of my 3rd season from arsenal for 5 mil (bargain) they beat me to him on a free at the start of last season and they left him to rot in the reserves.

he's an assist machine, Always my first buy when I get a decent transfer budget. got him for £5 mil in my 3rd season, bargain.

I deleted my game in pure anger. I could beat any team in the League but when I played teams in the bottom 5 they would beat me no problem at all. Nothing I could do about it, even if they had not won away all season.
