And Attwell, the ref?????????????? Either incompetent or bent. I'd like to think the former.

How the hell is he a premiership referee, absolutely clueless literally up to the final whistle when he blew for full time half way through that free kick into their area.

Whaaaat?

Why did he play well? Because he cost 6m? Or because Sam signed him?

Neither. Because he has more talent in his little finger than Roberts has in his body. He just needs some luck , some support up front that clicks and a midfield that connects with him. He scores goals for Rovers and in internationals when he gets all three.

Shocking - Steve Kean lost a lot of my belief in him today. As has been remarked on here many times he is yet to make a good substitution and today he continued his 100% record although it could be argued the appearance of Emerton improved us slightly.

Kalinic - poor, never ever a Premiership striker but is still afforded endless goodwill by the crowd. At one stage today he got the ball in a good position in the box, turned, it bobbled off his knee and ran out of play for a goal kick. This piece of 'play' was rewarded with a thunderous round of applause from around me (if Benjani had done the same what would the response have been?).

Nzonzi - dreadful, if Andrews had given a 'performance' like that there'd have been another 5 threads started on here.

Samba - what happened?

Salgado - can't fault his commitment but teams are constantly playing on him and exposing his lack of pace.

Roberts - just Roberts.

I've recently re-discovered my appetite for games down at Ewood, after today I'm glad I've got a month off.

No meaningful plan.

No pressure on the ball.

No bite in the tackle.

Lack of movement.

Lack of creativity.

Lack of determination.

Apart from that OK.

Some of these stiffs need taking for a walk around the paddock at Newbury.

As for Mr Steve Kean...once a nobody always a nobody.

We're walking the relegation tightrope again this season but this time without a safety net.

On what basis?

I thought he'd come good at one point, I just can't see it now.

On one basis, he has ten years to lose his ball skills approach play and passing to get to Roberts level.

Truth is we are not playing to either of their strengths. The way the barcodes were swarming on top of us through midfield it felt like a supermarket shelf had fallen on top of me. No striker can play to his potential in those circumstances.

I like the guy but there's no 2 ways about it, Salgado MUST be dropped he's a liability and its clear his confidence is in tatters. It summed it up for me when he had about a year to calmly play a pass back to Robbo and he flapped and played it to his left, surely even a blind man could see Robbo is a right footer.

What is Steve Kean on about in his interview on Sky Sports? Showed determination, spirit and desire...........to keep a clean sheet against Newcastle at home, is he for real? I was thinking after the game that we've taken four points from Newcastle this season which isn't too bad but the draw today still feels like a loss.

I loved it in the Darwen End again, I had a sore throat before the game now I can hardly speak. One of the lads banged on the advertising boards so much the palms of his hands dried up and went pure white, I wish everyone put the same amount of effort in, the players included, effortless performance from many of our players.

Apart from his awful display the thing that annoyed me was his 90minute long chat with Barton. At one point I swear he shouted man on to the newcastle midfielder!

I swear Nolan was the man who actually refereed that match. He was giving the man in orange instuctions throughout the game.

Regardless, it still highlighted major weaknesses in Steve Keans tactical ability.

I don't see how anyone can dispute that

Before I am accused of doom and gloom, I have been neither pro nor against Steve Kean so far, but today was one of the worst performances I have seen at Ewood.

We were dominated, made to look like the away team, and the players clearly had no idea what they were meant to be doing, and heads were down and they were blaming each other.

No shots on goal. None even off target. Appalling

Direction starts from the top

We need inspiration, a voice, and ultimately, I'm sad to say, a real manager.

I was all for giving kean a chance and expected to see some decent football today. What I saw was the same football as under Allardyce but with an absolutely shocking formation.

Seriously, how hard is it to see your formation IS NOT WORKING and what was with the long ball today?

That's two home games without a goal and in this one, without even a shot - entertaining?

In an ideal world then Kean should be given time to build a team etc however the Prem isn't an ideal world and you get found out in weeks not years.

That performance had Brian Kidd and rubber dinghy men written all over it.

The big question is will Venkys have the bottle to admit they have made a mistake with Kean and replace him.

As for summmer and the talk of another £5million they are clearly in dream land. That won't buy us half a striker let alone sort out the midfield.

Disappointed and concerned tonight.

i thought we was terrible ..newcastle completely out played us - it was actually embarrasing to be honest - we couldnt string a pass together ..they wanted the ball more then us , they showed the desire - we didnt

i thought there left back was brilliant today also

as for rovers players hmmmm well didnt look like they wanted to play for us to be honest :/

the defence today actually reminded me of when paul ince was in charge when we simply didnt have a clue how to defend - how we got that clean sheet i never know

salgado might be a good guy and a good professional but today showed me he is simply getting too old and a new right back is definatly needed in the summer

david dunn for me should only be on the subs bench - impact player at best

the only players who i thought can come out with credit and very little credit at that is robinson , jones and pedersen ..everyone else well terrible ..nzonzi is a big guy and numerous times today got out jumped by a smaller guy then him ..i think teams will target samba - they targetted him - played the ball behind him and he got found out

we definatly need to improve

He spoke to most of them, modes, including a nice cosy chat with Williamson. Absolutely shocking refereeing.

Not happy with today's match. Reminded me too much of all those dire away matches with Sam, the Ince Diaries and post Sparky winning the Manager of the Month award. Dreadful tactics. Very worried.

then right the wrong, and sack the imposter

He won't be sacked.. It needs to be clear to everyone now that Kean is Venkys man! They want complete control over this football club, from transfers all the way through to the bloody formation we play.

Allardyce was his own man, he knew what had to be done and he had his ideas. Unfortunately for him (and us) his ideas did not match Venkys.

Venkys have completely and utterly under estimated the challenge of Premier League football, and the importance of real 'football men' being involved.
