Not many Den. Most are young dreamers, shallow of thought and emotion. BRFC is not wire in the blood to them.

......The game is all about opinion and if someone does not agree with your opinion doesn't mean they are young or dreamers or that BRFC is not in there blood ,it just means there preferences are different.

Correct.... It just means they are wrong. ^_^

btw bep just as a matter of interest, marks out of 10, how did you rate a. Tim Sherwood and b. Lee Carsley?

Why wrong you are just like any other human and unfortunately even you may be wrong sometimes but with an ego like yours probably not !!! don't see what marks out of 10 for the two players achieves but Sherwood 9 Carsley 6 but suppose that's not what you think so probably wrong.

Ahh, eveyone should agree with the majority. That makes sense, even though the question is clearly one of personal preference rather than empirical proof.

This board is already boring enough with every thread clogged up by a dozen Venky's-are-evil serial posters.

Emperical proof? please, with respect, show me a team with limited funds which have won the premiership since its conception?

Certainly did but im afraid it seems to be that Rovers fans must have a player to boo don't know why but hope that it will some day go away.

I have been watching Rovers for longer than I care to mention, I dont boo players, neither do I sing at games, I cheer if we score, may have a few OOhs and growls at the ref but I am too enthralled in whats going on in the game, I dont use alcohol at games unless in a corporate and then a glass of wine, I would rather look at what is happening on the pitch, see how both sides have set themselves up.

But, most importantly, I want to see my team win and I will for the sake of repeating myself say this, if you have a gameplan and it works and you win the game, from a managerial point of view, it is equally as good as a free flowing victory, it means you have done the homework and collected three points, now whether that be Allardyce or Kean it makes little difference, points count and you get no points for playing pretty football, there must be an end product, thats why SW Phillips has never hit it off with his clubs, pretty at times but little or no end product to his game!!

i have supported BRFC for 50 plus years but can honestly say if a change to the manager had not happened it would have been my last.I have never been ashamed as what i was watching us put up a no show for Man Utd game away and his tatics are and always have been deplorable .He sets out to totaly destroy the game i love, i don't expect us to play like Barcelona but expect us to compete and try to play the game the way it is supposed to be played. The game is all about opinion and if someone does not agree with your opinion doesn't mean they are young or dreamers or that BRFC is not in there blood ,it just means there preferences are different.

Is a top ten finish on a terrible budget not competing?

Is losing 5 home games in 2 years not competing?

We got a good slapping at United and Chelsea and you're ashamed? Well I was at Villa when we got 10th and 'shame' was the last emotion I felt.

The man deserves your gratitude not bile.

ITS NOT A "ONLY ROVERS RELATED PROBLEM" it happens in every layer of society and at every other FU-cking club.

its just the way we are as humans, no matter how far we´ve gone through our evolution, deep down inside the majority of us, the jungle law still rules. Whether we likt to admit or not, thats anothr question.

whether its the quiet and shy man being bossed around in the office, whether its the weakest participant in the game show robinson etc etc etc, there will always be a weak link and when kA is gone, the next one will step in and take his place. Thats the nature of the beast. And it will continue, until us men have been completely emasculated.

PS thenodrog, you are exactly right regarding duran, he used any means neccessary to win, he was the smallest of the bunch, jumped up 2-3-4 weightclasses to challenge the big boys and he did so because he was a stud, with grit, will and a determinarion unseen and of course skill.

regarding the topic, im a football romantic, as a dane i stayed up as a teen, to see michael laudrup play for barcelone, always close to midnight, but their style was just something i had to énjoy. So my heart would say entertainment, while my brain says resuslts and looking at this logically, then winnning trumphs entertainment every day of the week.

He was a scrapper. A fighter before he was a boxer... and having a head like a concrete block helped no end.

Was simply replying to your comment and obviously one which you are unable to answer!!

Q: "Entertainment or results: which is all that matters?

Kelbo: "Show me a team that has won the league on limited budget"

Unable to summon the will to answer a completely irrelevant comment more like. Perhaps you could post your views on the diamond in here since you've put them everywhere else. I'm not quite sure where you stand on that one...

Under Hughes we were tough and fought for results but also did it with some style. That is the way to do it. For me good football means being positive which is more likely to get results than any other approach. Refer to almost any team who have ever achieved anything if you want evidence of this.

Spot on.

Hughes was the last manager we had when we would go into a game against pretty much any side in the league (probably excluding Arsenal- only side that really battered us on a few occasions under Hughes) and think we had a chance of getting something.

Granted we did have better players then, but the fighting spirit and determination on the pitch was far more intense as well. When sides faced Sparky’s Rovers they knew that they were in for a battle and far more often than not to beat us you would have to work your socks off.

We did beat Arsenal twice whilst MH was manager.

This is what I replied to, your continual inference that anyone who dare disagree with Venkys are Venky haters, I and many others may be able to accept some of their ideas if they would for once be consistent with their statements and refrain from speaking nonsense.

As for replying to the name of the thread, I have on numerous occassions , its a results business and entertainment is secondary, almost every side who has gone for entertainment first without spending five or six times more than the clubs in the top six have been relegated, hence the comment I made, you asked for proof, proof that what, entertainment should be above results? I think by asking you who has been successful playing entertaining football was quite apt!

for me its a bit of both, we cannot win every game, but we do not want to go down, we cannot play free flowing football every game, but sometimes its good to try

so a bit of both it is then.

Either would be an improvement at the moment Des. Dear me, are we in strife? (rhetorical question)

A result please.

A 4-1 defeat is a result, albeit a bad one.

A good result for me would be for Mrs Desai to see realise her mistake, swallow her pride and ask Sam to come back.

Otherwise her precious Venky's are going to be the laughing stock of the sub Continent playing in the Championship next season.

Do you really think Sam would come back and work with these idiots? Not a chance.
